    Protecting George, James. George did 3 push laps when he wasn't supposed to as he had seen SL top the time sheet and he couldn't get near those times on his runs, so it was his fault solely but Mercedes has to push their main driver who has won 2 races over their other driver the F1 legend and winner of 104 races and now points leader.

      Don't forget the driver whom also helped Mercedes get to 602 or 604 - can't exactly remember which right now - race podiums in formula one, whom he himself has 200 of those which is 1/3.

    It would be interesting to hear team’s opinion on George’s strategy too. And why that exact thing about tyre allocation of direct competitor was not applicable in George’s case to try to fix 1st undercut properly. I would agree with Max it is fine to be caught by undercut once, but twice it is too much.

    For the races since Austria, the upgraded parts has not yet demonstrate the competitiveness on a long straight and fast corner stability. It’s all due to wet conditions that helps a lot to close the gap from other rival teams. Monza will answer my doubt whether the car could carry on next season without major changes. 10-12 seconds gap build from the leader is my acceptable range at any top 4 position and given that the scenario of the race is ‘boring calm’

    Can anyone think of a time when Bottas did Hamilton a favour?
    In races were Hamilton could have done with Bottas holding Verstappen up he would go passed Bottas as though Bottas had been given the blue flag, when Bottas was told not to hold Hamilton up he made no effort to make it easy for Hamilton to pass (not that Hamilton noticed), when Hamilton needed to take points off the other teams Bottas under delivered. Bottas thought he was as good as Hamilton, and on some days he was, but no consistency.
    I'm sure that Hamilton made a conscious decision to big Bottas up in the hope that when it mattered Bottas would give Hamilton a helping hand, but I don't recall one incident where he assisted Hamilton. In Abu Dhabi, Bottas could have stopped on track to prevent the restart that should never have been, if he had, I wonder how the FIA would have sorted that one out.

    • @jaimesrk
      @jaimesrk 3 месяца назад +1

      Feels like you either only remember 2021 or only watch since 2021. Bottas has helped Hamilton on quite a few occasions, including giving up a win at Sochi (2018). He's been on the receiving end of team orders quite often. "Valtteri, it's James" didn't become a meme out of thin air.

    I disagree about it taking a long time before anyone comes close to Sir Lewis stats, it will happen sooner than you think. When he started there were 17 races in the season, now there are 24, 40% more chances to get a stat, so today's your drivers will have a easier chance to getting more records.

    I don’t usually have much questions, but where do I send the questions?
    My question is that it is well known that Mercedes car performs well in the cooler conditions and not so well in the hot conditions. So what is Mercedes doing or can be done to make the car faster in all the conditions because I don’t know if other cars have this problems. This problem seems to be a Mercedes one.

    Valtteri, it's James says it all. Valtteri, abort the fastest lap. By the way Mr. Wolff had blasted Gunter and claimed he had not treated Mick properly, despite Gunter giving Mick 2 seasons in F1. Toto should either give the 2025 seat to Mick or apologise to Gunter, if he is man of words.

    • @alexandershaw2378
      @alexandershaw2378 3 месяца назад +1

      Pretty sure Ossama Bin Russell, aka Sheriff Woody - these are just the monikers I'm acquainted with - started either P17 or P19, can't remember which right now so he was never realistically in contention for the podium or by some miracle a race win, while Lewis on the other hand had a real shot at another race win if McLaren botched their strategies again, or if Max and Oscar, or Max and Lando took each other out of contention for the win like they did in Austria.
      You have to look at what is realistic and also the bigger picture mate.
      Had George taken enough fuel for his runs to get out of Q1 then it would probably have been a right between him and Leclerc or even Lewis depending of his race pace and tire management that day.
      Lewis has usually been on the receiving end of poor strategy since 2021, and yes, we all griped about it tirelessly, however the team does not deliberately set out to hand one or both of their drivers suboptimal strategies, it happens because the race is dynamic and chaotic.
