Hi guys! Oops we released this video 12 hours before our normal scheduled time! Sorry about that! We really hope you enjoy this Chicken Long Rice, one of our favorites among Hawaiian food. As always, thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. We love you!
Don’t mind you posted earlier than normal. I look forward to all your commentaries. yes! maladada sooo ono! Better then Dunkin’ Donuts or shipleys, Krispy Kreme hold their own
Sooooooooooooo. I made the chicken long rice soup today and it was delicious!!!!! I followed your recipe and only made one substitution...I used chicken broth instead of water. I used quite a bit of ginger . I was so happy with the outcome. I thought it would be too strong a ginger taste, but cooking the broth for 50 min with the chicken mellowed out the ginger and it was so good. Thank you so much for this recipe!!!!!!
Ohhh I'm so happy you liked it! We hope you'll be able to enjoy it again. Satoshi likes to eat it over a bowl of rice. He also puts just a small dash of soy sauce on it when he eats it this way.
Guys, this sounds tremendously flavorful with ginger, onion and chicken broth! MMM!! You make it look easy too! Thanks for sharing this great Hawaiian recipe! I had never hear of it before!
Butter mochi!! Also, I'm definitely going to make this, despite coming from such a tropical climate it looks soooo comforting & like the perfect cold/mild weather dish!
Thanks you guys for giving me get another recipe to pull from! Gonna make this TONIGHT for the family! My vote is for butter mochi because you can't go wrong with both butter AND mochi!
First Malasadas, then, after, Butter Mochi. I LOVE mochi!!! They both sound great. I love your channel and your adorable mother. I can't wait to see her again. Thank you so much. Take good care of yourselves guys... ;-D All the best from the USA.
A lunch staple in Hawaii!! I'm making your Machiko Chicken today. I'll have to make long rice next week!!! Your recipes are easy and delicious. How about some squid Luau?
This looks better then how I’ve been cooking chicken long rice since being a teen. Your long rice looks perfect, not soggy at all!! Great 👍🏼 job! When will make your version of laulau??
I think I am more interested in seeing butter mochi :D Also the fun happy song in the background of this video is very cute! I really like this style of cooking video!
Love watching your videos! You guys make me laugh. Would love to see you do a video for the butter mochi as I've never heard of that before (and I love mochi). Thanks so much!
This is very similar to Filipino Chicken Sotanghon except for the ginger. We saute garlic, onion, julliened carrots, green onions and Napa cabbage. It's so delicious!
I love sesame oil, soy sauce, pepper and extra fresh grn onion and thinly sliced Ginger toppings. I know most don’t have cilantro. I love that too.. haha.
this recipe looks so comforting for the soul, I'm so glad you both finally made this! 😏👌 i will give this a go fairly soon for sure. I have never heard of either dessert before, but the malasadas seems interesting. is it a stuffed pastry? wonderful editing as usual, I can't get enough of your channel! 😆😆
You must try this. We usually like to eat this over a bowl of white rice. Of course it's good on its own. thanks so much for watching! Malasads are actually plain, but the modern versions sometime come with a filling.
My favorite too! I just didnt know it was called chicken long rice, lol! Next time I would like to see butter mochi only because the word butter is in the name =D But either one would be great!
Yum... they have to invent something so that we can reach in and get some too. LOL Good dish to eat when you're sick. Could you guys make both Butter Mochi and Malasadas please. :-)
Right now it's too dang hot or else I'd be wanting a bowl of Chicken Long Rice, too! [I'll eat it if I can get somebody else to cook it for me - hmmm] Oh, I vote for Malasadas, yum!
Oh wow, decisions, decisions. They both sound good, but I'm very interested in butter mochi, so I'll go with that. xD I've never had chicken long rice before but it looks amazing! :D Great job with the video as always! hehe
This video made me so happy! I love chicken and even though there doesn't seem to be any "rice" in Chicken Long Rice, it sure looks good to me. I can't say enough about the joy you bring to your videos. Doesn't matter what you make, you are two are the kind of human beings that I love to be with. As to what to make. Well, we are not big fans of sweets although we do enjoy some once in a while. We LOVE more savory dishes and those are the ones we look forward to. Non-the-less, do what you do. I am so happy to spend the time with you.
My vote is for haupia malasadas, please! Or maybe ube malasadas. Are you going to give away Leonard's secret recipes? =D Great video, guys -- keep up the good work!
Okay, I have to make the chicken long rice! It is so delicious! I remember having it when I was in Hawaii. Do you think harusame noodles would work okay? I know they are not bean thread noodles. I have them here. As for your next recipe, I vote for butter mochi. It's hard to resist the mochi option. I love-love-love mochi. I haven't had butter mochi yet, though. Thanks for the video, and I hope you're all doing well (Justin included)!
For the Chicken Long Rice recipe, what brand of bean thread noodle are you using? I have tried several different kinds, but the noodles do not stay clear.
I have sweet potato starch noodles (I've heard them called glass noodles). They look pretty similar to this kind of noodle. Could I possibly use it as a substitution?

I've never heard of chicken long rice. It sort of reminds me of Hainan chicken. And I do agree with you on ginger; it's the life of the party.
Oh if you like ginger, you will love this, although it's not vegetarian. Hmmm.......Must make something vegetarian for you again.

Interesting, reminds me of pho. Are there many Chinese in Hawaii? I vote for butter mochi just because it sounds crazy lol
There is a huge population of chinese in Hawaii. In fact, I think the majority are Asians.
My vote is for haupia malasadas, please! Or maybe ube malasadas. Are you going to give away Leonard's secret recipes? =D Great video, guys -- keep up the good work!
haha. we wish we had that secret recipe! Aloha!
both desserts are new to me so may be you can make them both in separate videos
Okay, I have to make the chicken long rice! It is so delicious! I remember having it when I was in Hawaii. Do you think harusame noodles would work okay? I know they are not bean thread noodles. I have them here. As for your next recipe, I vote for butter mochi. It's hard to resist the mochi option. I love-love-love mochi. I haven't had butter mochi yet, though. We call this chicken sotanghon soup in the Philippines. This looks delicious!
For the Chicken Long Rice recipe, what brand of bean thread noodle are you using? I have tried several different kinds, but the noodles do not stay clear.
guys I challenge you to try to make a Chilean Dish ^_^ after the dessert video. loved the video xo
Chilean dish? Wow now that is a challenge. Where do we start?
maybe you should try to cook Pastel de Choclo. It is a really good dish! I am sure you can find the recipe in English
I have sweet potato starch noodles (I've heard them called glass noodles). They look pretty similar to this kind of noodle. Could I possibly use it as a substitution?
Yes you could definitely use glass noodles. We've tried it that way as well.
TabiEats Thanks so much for replying! I really appreciate it!
The malasadas is just like donuts or beignet. Butter mochi please!! :)
Butter mochi, please! :D This one really looks like a chinese dish. We call that kind of noodles vermicelli. :)
actually this is a chinese dish that's been slightly changed to become Hawaiian. I have no idea where the hawaiian part is though. ahha
Butter mochi! 😊

I would like malasadas since I already know how to make butter mochi😆
malasadas!!
i dont know what either of those are so i'll go with marasala or whatever u called it
