Would it be okay to buy a 2007 r1 in 2016... I.mean would it be okay to buy a almost 10 year old bike with 10, 000 miles clocked on it... Will the bike suffer from breakdowns or reliability issues because its 10years old ?

The bike wont give you any problems if it is well mantained and the oil/valves are checked and changed in time. This bikes are very tough and reliable. ;)

RIpumas09 this would be horrible for a beginner. Way too much power. Even a 600cc is too much for some. This 1000cc.
