The Small Claims Court fee is £35 for any amounts claimed up to £300. Put in all the time required to file such a claim, and surely it is not economic for these people to chase these fines through court ? Therefore, they rely on the low-hanging fruit of those who are sufficiently intimidated to comply with their threats.
It’s disgusting & I hope that we all go to on line shopping in future to reduce the risks of fines or we as a society just don’t pay them Not a single penny any of us we need to stand firm against these crooks
Don't ignore the ticket, you can fight it against the private parking tickets. You can appeal, which is always ignored, then take the case to POPLAR. I've taken a lot of cases to court to help an ex-gf as the parking company were useless. In the end they were struck off from the BPA.
NCP try to charge from the moment you enter, not from the time you park, their machines are not fit for purpose, so it takes time even to pay, all of which counts as parking time. It's an appalling racket.
Just ignore them. Do not reply or contact the Company that has issued the unlawful fine. They will try to scare you with Threatening scare tactic wording in the letters sent out. Council and Police parking fines are a Totally different thing altogether and you should not ignore these..

If you get a private parking charge notice and you have residents parking, remind the PPC that you have a legal right to park in your own allocated parking space. No outside party can make themselves party to your leasehold agreement. The lease is between you and the registered landowner and gives you the right to park, a private parking company has no lawful authority to order you to display a permit to use your own property. If a PPC tries to force unlawful conditions on you, tell them by email so you have proof that they have been put on notice that you do not consent to entering a contract with them and to white list your vehicle as there is no provision in your lease that states you must display a permit to park.

Challenge the authority of the PCN and your obligation to pay. This Martin Lewis guy isn't telling you what you need to know. Basically, if they cannot prove you have signed a document with wet ink agreeing to contract with them, you're good. No contract = no payment.
wet ink myth is complete crap, the amount of people I met when I worked for Citizen's advice who went down that road (pardon the pun) and then a few weeks later were seeing me for advice of how to deal with bailiffs.
@@lewisb85 Wet ink signature provides evidential weight that someone has indeed put their hand to the paper to charge the document. The sender is liable provided the full name is also given. If they dispute this in court, then it becomes a case of cross- referencing it with other signatures, and the matter has been escalated to one of potential fraud, since the apparent sender is now claiming that someone else has signed the document passing themselves off as the sender. To add evidential weight to the wet ink signature, (especially in more, lets say, important matters, a witness or two will be requested, with something to lose (their profession usually). The name and wet ink signature therefore seems to provide a focal point for evidence accruement. The fact that the people who were researching this ended up looking for advice from bailiffs means they needed to find out how to deal with bailiffs- not that their theory was wrong. I therefore return to my previous point, and rather, rephrase it as a question. Why would a council representative be so reluctant to be held liable for their paperwork if all is well? Furthermore, where is the proof of contract providing full disclosure of the terms and conditions which are often alleged to have been breached in PCNs?
As mentioned by others, 'wet ink signature' on a contract is a myth. You shouldn't peddle this nonsense. A 'contract' can be formed in various ways without the need of a 'signed document' .There are 'deemed contracts', 'implied contracts' and others. Implied contract is based on your action when leaving your vehicle after a grace period on a private car park. The contract is automatically formed or 'implied' as you have parked, thus impliedly agreeing to the terms and conditions of the contract. More research required into contract law...
