About 50 years ago Minnie Pearl said of youth was that they didn’t smart in the right places. A generation of parents failed to heed her advice and here we are.
Probably wouldnt fly now, but they oughta bring this back, with whatever musicians they can get for hit. It didnt just showcase great talent; it poked gentle fun at people from "down home", and there are, belie e me, my down homes around the world. Nearly everybody could relate.
I could listen to this a dozen times in a row and never get tired of hearing it. God bless and I can't wait for the reunion when we all get there one day!
Thanks! It was so pleasant to see and hear Minnie Pearl and The Hee Haw Crew. I was crying as I sang along. Yesterday on SiriusXM's Channel #4 event channel for a couple weeks is the Top 1,000 Songs Of All Times and Genres of Country Music. Some of the Country Music of days past ranked pretty high! I heard Willie Nelson on "Uncloudy Day" and I was reminded of this song. As a kid in the early 1960s the local AM station in the Hard Coal Region of Pennsylvania was a crooner, a balad, traditional and the UK or US Pop Music. Like JACK FM before someone got the idea. I am well versed from polka, Classical, Pop, Rock, Rock-A-Billy, Swamp Pop, Punk, Heavy Metal, Bluegrass, The Blues, Western Music and I love it all.
Lots of talent here. Makes me sad though that these talented artists were made to dress like stereotypical Southern hillbillies on the show. I live in the South and some folks do wear overalls for sure, but never seen anyone wearing getups like many of the ladies have on. Loved the performance.
They not even singing like this in gospel music no more. This was great.
Loved this!❤

Non ho ben capito cosa ci sia da ridere, visto il testo del brano.
They should play this in the jail cells of Antifa as extra torture.
