"It's like jund"
Never change Reid
Reid Duke could be playing UNO and would still find a way to run Jund
Kimmie Koneko Reid could definitely play Uno Jund. Red and green to sure up his options while allowing combos, and a healthy dose of black to shut down his opponents and get his desired colour on the field.
Wouldn't be good, but could be done.
Amazing
I read the thumbnail and legitamently thought to myself “oh nice, Reid is feeling confident in the vintage format, good for him.”
You have such a lovely grandma attitude.
1. See a Reid video
2. Click it
3. Enjoy it thoroughly

Reid getting got by being Reid. Against anyone other than Reid duke you assume they're not on Jund and you brainstorm :D
CFB is often lacking in brews, sweet

"Wow fascinating"
Top 10 Funniest things on cfb
I appreciate the opponent casting Leovold at the end of Round 1 as a way of extending the handshake
aww yes cause i love my dark confidants when they flip dig through time.
It's hard to even imagine a blue Vintage deck without Dig and Force.
And ancestral, and Snappy, and Jace, and misstep...
Greatness at any cost
Hodor: "Hodor"
Reid: "Jund"
:D Love your vids reid
Vintage pace is interesting. It alternates extremely explosive moments and long periods of nothing, with topdeck wars into moxes, thoughtseizes and mental misteps.
Really well-played and well-commentated. Superb.
Brave Sir Robin had a spicy deck
very
Until he bravely ran away away
Sir Robin bravely played Merchant Scroll fetching Paradoxical Outcome, and there was much rejoicing.
YAY vintage content! There needs to be more!
Really great to see you bring your deck building approach to Vintage Reid, though it's always tough to make fairer decks work. Given the lack of Force of Will, I think I'd definitely want a pair of Decays in here to fight Oath - maybe over one Kologhans Command, the other possibly over a Thoughtseize or Fatal Push. Sylvain Library is also a super powerful threat at the moment as it can't be red blasted. And given the high land count you're forced into playing, I wonder if a Dack would have been useful. Anyway, all the best and thanks for the great Vintage content! :)
The only way to describe this deck is in an equation: jund + blue - force of will + dark confidant * Ried Duke
Love the match 1 opponents name lol. Great monty python reference
idk what im about to watch but i see a pile of cards i like so #thumbsup
Yet another fantastic video
OMG That noise at 0:33
Want that as my phone notification
Adorable Reid is adorable
Tremendous ad's with a side of magic. Quality
Hooray for Vintage!
This was an awesome video
Considering blue is the most powerful color in vintage it’s surprising to see how many non-blue lands are played in this deck
grudge was not a live draw on the last turn because of the cage
cool deck tho
Nice brew. I like the Bob-centric build without the 5 and 8 drops.
I would have liked to see you trim a mox or two when bringing in all the null rods, I think.
When you both have Leo in play, you can target their stuff on their turn to prevent them from drawing.
Reid Duke + Homebrew. BOY.
I disagree with making the opponent discard as opposed to returning the bob. They had the top to mitigate the effects of the discard, but the confidant would force them to commit a full card of resources to deal with that half of the K command. And they would need to do it urgently or the bob would accumulate more than just one card of value
Looks like my vintage cube draft deck
I know it’s called vintage, but when most decks contain about 20-30 of the same cards, it feels a lot like standard.
Other than eating some counter spells, DR shaman didn’t do much eating and did most of his work on the ground. Funny.
After watching him concede games with about 15 life left (a couple of which left me wondering if his opponents maybe would have decked themselves before finding a win-con) it was nice to see him lose match 5 to a creature heavy deck that didn’t have all the same cards that were in the other decks.
„How Bad do you want to lose to workshop?“
„No force of will, no basic lands“
(Didn’t watch the whole video yet, maybe he gets lucky)
Hey whoever uploads these, I feel like my viewing experience is really enhanced by the excessive use of ads, do you think we could put more in here? I'm thinking one after every turn would be sufficient. Unless it's Nassif, then we should have two per turn, since he takes his time. Thanks for all the content from Google and Bacardi!
Round 1 is proof of paralell universes.
And proof that top is the most annoying card ever printed!
did we really need proof though???
noitsnotandnowedidnt
Could try grape shots over the lightning bolts for the paradoxical matchup
"We're playing Czech Pile in Legacy"
Man you literally had to post the 4c non force of will control deck just after I sell my Kohloghans commands and 2 of my bobs. Thsi is a sweet deck tho one of the more fun match ups I've had on Survival Salad. Would love to se you take that out for a spin one day the deck has real legs just needs a real name playing it.

It's a huge pet peeve of mine, but why do people say 'fateseal myself'? The fateseal mechanic specifies the opponents library, because the whole point is you're sealing their fate by deciding what they draw in the future. If you look at your own top card then decide to put it on the top or bottom, that's just called scrying. Jace's ability can do both because it doesn't use either keyword, people just call it fatesealing because you're almost always targeting your opponent.
You just explained exactly why people call it fatesealing themselves. “Fateseal” is the colloquial shorthand for Jace’s +2, so even when you use it on yourself, you just call it by its nickname.
Can somebody explain to me how the Basking Rootwalla/Vengevine combo works?
Look up the cards, all will be revealed. But...
Opponent uses Bazaar of Baghdad to draw two, then has to discard three. Rootwalla has madness cost of zero, so he casts both for zero mana, Vengevine in graveyard returns if you “cast” two creature spells this turn.
Why didnt you Misstep the Sol ring after the outcome g1? Would of set them back a turn.
At 1:42:00, why not hit Jace then bolt him?
cubes draft??
This deck is pretty sweet. Not knowing much about vintage myself, isn't this much like regular 4 color Leo?
Pretty much, I don't see much difference. I guess null rods.
Man, if these thoughtseizes had been Force of Wills... xD
I think your first opponent was playing a commander deck with a little modefication to the Mana base.
BOB' REVENGE!!!! YEAHHHHHHHH
PS 6 different dual lands is quite excellent...
Hey Reid! I love your videos, but you need to figure out a fix to the static feedback in the background. It takes away from fully enjoying what are entertaining and knowledgeable videos. It is also great to see some vintage content as well though!
It would be great to put a noise gate on the the audio from Reid’s vids to cut out the background noise when he isn’t talking
The 1st opponent threw up that 1st mental misstep fast af. I mean damn. Youd never know the mtgo client was fucked looking at the response time of their play.
decklist?
Clicked so fast omg
Why no sol ring in the deck? Also no Library? Seems super weird to me
The omission of Sol Ring I guess it's due to the deck being so color intensive, if you look at the decklist you'll note that there isn't a lot of colorless mana costs where you can use the mana. So even with Sol Ring making possible some broken openings I think it's not woth the slot..
Reid said no Sol Ring because of Nul Rod in his maindeck. This deck also tries to empty the hand very fast so Library is a very bad topdeck. Also the 4 colors alredy make the mana bad as you can see in the video.
Your arguments are fair but both sol ring and Library are free Wins if they are in your opening hand. Also Green sun zenit is great with sol ring. Personallly I would cut some wasteland and move null Rod to the sideboard for some kolaghans command
Null rod is reidiculously good ;), in like 100% of match-ups, easily the card that makes this deck playable.
Also library is only top tier agaisnt blue mirrors, which his entire deck is made to beat anyways, so it seems redundant to add sol and library for broken starts, for null rods which are just as broken, but universally so, and actually calculated for the deck as a whole.
I can hear your computer fan in the background ! :p
welcome to legacy league😀
6:45 I would have pyroblasted at upkeep in order to stop a card from being drawn
I was thinking this too. It is only punished if the opponent's card in hand is a Force of Will, and prevents not only the card drawn for the turn, ut the opponent from using Top in response to potentially draw a Force or blue card for it.
Was gonna say draw step, but I guess it makes no difference, huh
toast_recon, when you stop in a player’s draw step, they draw first. i.e vendillion clique
toast_recon waiting until draw step is a little different as they get one more card, so if you're worried about Force of Will upkeep is better. You could argue that draw step makes your Leovold survives better since it precludes the opponent from using the first, followed by the second ability of Top in response to find removal. But that doesn't really work in practice since the opponent has used top multiple times if I remember correctly, and would have a removal spell in the top three pushed to the top of their deck anyway.
Ethryas They get another card off the pyroblast before it resolves either way. Either they draw off pyroblast, see their extra card and don't find a counter, or they draw for their turn, get pyroblasted, draw 0 cards and don't draw a counter.
I think draw step might even be a little better in case they find removal off your upkeep pyroblast. If they do, they draw 2 cards that turn instead of 1 if you pyroblasted draw step. Double leovold makes for awfully tricky situstions
hey reid, love your videos. This is the sweetest vintage deck i've ever seen.
One comment tho, your mic seems to have a weird noise in it that has been annoying me for a long time, could it be time for an upgrade? :p
What noise? There is his typing and his laptop fan
is it his laptop fan? it sounds like a static noise coming from a bad/damaged mic continuously
Please please please do a video like this but with all the peach garden oath! (Like all of you guys try to brew a fun deck you all would enjoy to play!) be awesome!
Why not black lotus?
Playing Underground Sea at 8:15 is probably a misplay. A mystery card in your hand for bluff value is worth more than an extra mana to do nothing with.
There’s basically nothing in your deck that can punish you for holding the land either. Worst case you draw a Jace and then draw a 1 drop you can’t cast off of it. Narrow enough, imo, to warrant holding the land for bluff value.
Why excavator instead of crucible?
probably K-Command in the main, gives you a chance to grab it back if you need it
its a threat and is less dead in certain matchups
Also doesn’t die to all the artifact hate in Vintage or get stolen by Dack Fayden all of which are huge .
allofabove
Someone plz explain what this is. Have no idea what I'm watching
never heard Reid this irritable. Maybe I'm misreading
1:59:43 lol
Match 1 dude had infinite counters. Grindy af
So it's basically just 4c Leovold with pet cards. Okay I'm game. Glad to see vintage cube getting people fired up for some vintage shenanigans.
Seems like more ads than usual.
it's not like 4 colors, it's more like grixis....jund
Ah yes, 4 colors...
Bruh this video has 13 ads for me
Jesus that's a lot of ads
Energy Flux?
@Reid, you gotta do something about your microphone picking up your computer fan noise... this is distracting...
So many ads 😵😵
First
So salty match 4 game 1 when dude up ticked jace. “The correct line is to brainstorm here so I can bolt jace. Why did he plus jace? This makes no sense. “. Lmfao.
ColorBlindBoxing plus because he’s playing Reid duke a jund playa
more of the same as always...
own brew more like typical strong choice splashing some blue
That doesn't make it any less a brew. Did you expect random jank cards that loose 60% of the games? There are plenty channels on youtube which do just that but CFB isn't one of them. People come here to watch top Magic play and possibly learn from it as much as possible.
Deck is still plenty spicy for vintage, where there's basically 3 main decks that see play: blue based control, paradoxical storm and shops. Dredge on the outside as the next biggest deck. This is a far cry from any of these decks.
Not that much really, it's pretty similar to the 4c leovold decks that play vintage. The most common is BUG, but there are a lot of them with red for pyro, bolt and sometimes KCommand. I mean, if you're going that route there aren't many cuttable cards from the deck. It's a nice deck that don't see that much play, but it's far from a "spicy brew". Survival salad, red prison, vintage humans, those are spicy decks IMO.
I agree Jack (sarcasm). I mean, he only plays 4 moxes.... and lotus, Jace, snapcaster, mental misstep, time walk, ancestral... that’s about 15-20 cards that most of his opponents all play. The mana bases are fairly similar, so there’s about 30 of the exact same cards...
