You can't imagine how inspiring it is to see you having the patience to teach your 8 (now 9) year old daughter to operate your crane. The bonding experience and your love for your daughter cannot be measured. By the way, I used to own a crane and rigging company (sold and went onto another profession) and picking heavy loads takes great skill and an intimate knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of whatever crane you are operating. I could see the makings of that skill in your daughter. I remember one day my 5 year old daughter (now 52 and still crazy) climbing up the lattice of one of my cable cranes. Your daughter should she so choose, would have an extremely lucrative and successful career as a crane or equipment operator. Good luck to you both.
It's not hard once you can catch and stabilize the load when swinging or booming up or down and then stopping. I literally practiced on a few cranes for 2 days and my crane operator career took off. It's 18 years later and the only time I've been off work is when I chose to be off. Your daughter will definitely be a prodigy. Great video.
@@gpd4705Forget the marines. Go waste your life fighting a war for corrupt politicians. Don’t do it. Get into the trades. In my state, crane operators can make $250,000 a year. Union operating engineers. Make about $75 an hour and OT is double time. Look into a union in your state.
This warmed my heart tonight. Im in corporate amercia and it pays the bills bit not satisfying. Im in north texas and have been wanting to be owner operator of a mobile crane to get sib erl fro havc roof top installs...also i now have a 4 yr old daughter. Best thing ive seen on youtube today. God bless brother, got a new sub.
Honestly, my brother, that is the best thing I’ve seen on RUclips in quite a long time! I took my boys out to the top hand competition a couple years back, and they loved being up in that cab. For one of my boys 10 year birthday brought them up into the tower crane! Much love and blessings to y’all. PS 100% sub!!
Can you be a crane operator and have autism? Or would taking medication 💊 be a hurdle to becoming one? I will admit that I have OCD, anxiety disorder and plus I get easily distracted.
Brother, I'm very proud of you as a dad teaching her to do this at this age I was the same way as a kid makes me proud and I don't even know you guys good job guys
Nice!!!!!!! I look forward to meeting both of you on the next job brother!!! I knew I was paying too much for them boys just pulling levers. She’s smooth!!!!
Gotta train em early and often. It's great bonding time and they get unbelievably exited when they overcome challenges. Fun to show off to friends too 😎
Where is her hard hat . What a beautiful little girl she will never forget those beautiful memories we need are future generations to come out and be in the trades great job to the both of you❤😊😊😊
Great Father. Never Met My Father. In NYC It’s Passed Down From Family Like This And It’s About Who You Know To Open A Door For U. If Your Not Connected You Have To Go Out Of State And Work Just To Get Your NYC State Crane Operator License. As A 1st Generation Crane Operator, I Haven’t Been Blessed With Someone Like You In NYC Wish I Was Though.
My kids all learned early on many diferent trucks in oilfield. Interestingly enough, once all operators had to have their crane tickets, every safety feature imaginable, operators bent booms non stop, wrecked turret brgs. It was great for business. Great to see young one learning. Younger generation need to learn from their fathers.so they learn some common sense, what world is lacking
she already is! whenever he needs to take a fishing day.,she stands in for him!One day she had a 200 ton pic...had he known,he probably would have showed up THAT day!..
I've been registered as a student with NCCCO for 2 months now. I haven't made any progress because I don't know any operators and I was kinda intimidated. This Video is 1 of the top 5 most influential videos I've seen in 40 years. Your daughter is only 8 but she's very well groomed. The average 8 year old wouldn't even be a candidate because they'd be somewhere being a playful immature child. Keep up the good work.
Here is the next question: How hard to get crane operator licence?😀 I came from other country, where i used to work as a crane operator for ten years. Thank you for video. Being crane operator is not to hard, but very interesting and good job)
Well done, are the leavers only back and forth, ie not joysticks with forward/backward and left/right? Took my my nephews 5 and 7 at the time and showed them how to run an excavator. They got the hang of the basic functions quite quickly, the tiltrotator controls was a bit harder though as their hands were a bit small to get a good use out of the rollers.
@@mattvega6941 yeah she can't reach em yet so she uses the hand throttle. I'm in the process of teaching her how to ride my Honda Rancher 420 semiauto 4wheeler as well
id done have the boat on top the house, the trash can on fire and the crane on its side. I have a daughter as well, she does many things better than I do. lol
It’s easy to that baby because she is trained joe shmoe off the block would not be able to do that that easy especially reading signals.. you are training her well..
I like welding rigs better. I was thinking what i want to do. CPA/CMA ability to develop bookkeeping business Crane operator ability to get a set up like this Boat maker wooden boats Master plumber own business Master welder with a rig welder set up. Ultimately i don't know, but i now now i don't want this.
True, but to be fair in 10 years operating I've only seen 1 crane that was correct and that's cause the floats were tiny. I'd have to have 6ft pads lol

Great video! Ive my class 1, been driving tandem last 3 years. Going for boom truck cert this winter, probably move into crane within 5 years.

Its as hard as you make it out to be. Once you get used to the controls and start getting confidence. You get your license.

Crane float pads are not 3x the floats. Against OSHA regulations
True, but to be fair in 10 years operating I've only seen 1 crane that was correct and that's cause the floats were tiny. I'd have to have 6ft pads lol
Or 1ft floats but then I think I'd be moving backward not forward
Anyone could do it put your mind to it
Watch out shes comming for your job when she gets older HA 🤠
I like the fact she was barefoot

She’s not as good as Paul Newman yet, but if she keeps practicing, she will be good. Take care.

Careful what you wish for. I take in strays.
Isn’t this illegal ?
How's that?
Hi
I m operator
Are you saying that it's so darn easy that a 8yo could do it.
Hydraulic machines are not for real operators. Put your ass on an old friction rig and learn how to operate.
