To me, the autonomous driving can never be perfect with manual drivers on the same roads. Besides safety, is driving a skill we should choose to give up or is it worth making an argument?

China wants the data, US wants the compute, and Tesla wants to run FSD in a friendly regulatory environment and export surplus fully-FSD-capable inventory from Shanghai. There's a difference between needing to "put your hand on the wheel" to indicate alertness, and needing to disengage. The statement made there was misleading. There are zero disengagement drives taking place.

Should China government allow Fully Autonomous Tesla driving around their roads but US regulators go back and forth with it, they will lose the first mover advantage and subsequently other future innovations that evolve from that. But that shouldn’t mean, free pass without scrutiny (but process should start at least).
look at what he achieved with basically no means. Now tesla has several factories up and running and tremendous cash reserves. They cant build charging stations fast enough to serve it´s customer base. Alone this charging infrastructure is tesla´s moat, you cant copy that so easily
