We were born in the uk but left last year after 50 years and took our business, money and kids with us. We could see Labour were coming and we knew what that meant. We sleep much easier and now live in a low regulation environment, so our business can start to expand. Treating biz profit like PAYE is bonkers. Let me know when an employee has their home on the line with the bank for their performance in a salaried job and I'll listen. We are not alonr. There is a genuine flow of UK folks turning up here, typically SME biz owners, who feel the same. Good luck everyone.
Taxes that are spent on providing new infrastructure and services for incoming immigrants are not spent on the needs of the taxpayers and citizens. We need a party that will enforce the principle of 'taxpayer value for taxpayer money'.

This is the best interview I have seen in sometime. My overriding feeling is that Labour really don’t know what to do in government and will be found out quickly. And the Tories have totally lost the plot. We really need one of the main parties to have a clear concise vision to get the country back on track.
It's great to see someone who has consistently challenged the government to channel more and more money to the rich in the hope that they will sprinkle some crumbs to the rest of us fumbling around for answers that aren't there. Bankrupt ideas from a bankrupt philosophy promoted consistently by the Spectator.
There are three main spending areas that the government HAS to spend upon after maintaining itself and security. Health/NHS, Education and Welfare. Those are the Vote " Holy Grails"! But no government can get enough tax revenues to pay for it without borrowing! So what do you cut without losing an election?
Can't see the point to this interviewer. I have to switch off whenever she turns up on TV. It's only because I have time for Paul Johnson that I am bothering.
Nowhere is the sad answer & so all that Sir Kneel & his successor(s) will give us for at least the next decade, is even more low growth, even more low productivity, even more Government borrowing, even more higher taxation, even more mass uncontrolled & mass unskilled immigration, even more foodbanks, even worse public services & a true & proper full blown economic recession or three all thrown in for good measure, so happy days ahead....
Interesting, although it's clear that Paul Johnson is not beat described as 'independent' especially when it comes to his massively anti-brexit position. All that said, he's right when it comes to the Reform party. I do like many of their policies, especially when it comes to immigration and culture, however their claims about cutting taxes, whilst at the same time spending more in many areas are somewhat dubious!
No. but governments are allowed to be fiscally responsible anymore, even when they're nowhere close to balancing the budget it still gets labelled 'Austerity' so why would they try, just print more money and ignore any inevitable debt crisis. Every other country is doing the same thing anyway so how can it be wrong? At least we'll all collapse together in a beautiful domino effect!
I'm intrigued how Spectator RUclips videos always encourage me to 'watch next' either a white square, a white rectangle or a white circle. I never have... what am i missing?
