Probably your best video yet, super rich content. That elbow up on forehand finish is super useful, I've been hitting the net a bit on the FH so that will help to get low to high which I was struggling to find a visualisation for. Amazing work as always!
Thank you so much for this videos man! I'm a brazilian guy and I study tennis so much trying to improve my game. Honestly, I know many channel and I can say with proprietary: your channel is so much different and good!
Great tips. This weekend is my first tournament since I was a teenager (I'm 34 now), so this video definitely comes in handy! Love the breathe in/out idea on 2nd (and first) serves, and the forehand elbow tip is definitely one I try to keep in mind as well. Thanks Karue!
Very usefull. Great way of simplifying your thoughts and tactics that probably took you years to even be aware of, craftmanship is kind of an exploring game. Extraordinary work, respect, thanks a lot.
I have put into practice the tip on breathing while serving. Exhale and then as you go into your motion breathe in deeply. Maybe it is just mental, but my first and second serve are more consistent and my ball placement has improved. So, thanks!!!
Great tips on forehand - like you that's the side that falls apart for me. For me it's a lot about keeping my body weight forward, on my toes not my heels, hit in front not late. If it's all not going well I also start to think slow->fast, helps me not tense up and start pulling my shots. Don't like "push" as a thought as one of my faults is to start pushing not swinging. Also like the second serve idea - my normal thought there is better long than in the net. On returns I saw myself in your pushing the ball into the net example, what worked for me was starting with a forehand grip, but the off hand in a backhand grip so I am automatically in either grip without needing to think. That means I more naturally place the racket infront of the ball with the correct grip and all I need to do then is follow thru.
Really outstanding instruction. You have a rare gift for distilling technique into simple tips that can people can focus on when they are actually in the midst of playing tennis. I find these lessons extremely valuable. Please keep sharing your knowledge. Thank you, sir!
Cool! I thougt I was the only one doing the inhale - exhale thing. Exhale during bouncing, inhale on the toss and fast exhale on the hitting point... I even do the inhale-exhale thing on return shots. It just helps me get into focus and let's the arm tension out.
@@martonkecze9125 its a dense string pattern , so to grab the ball with the strings you have to really brush UP on the ball otherwise it will go into the net.
Thanks for the video. I like that you kept is simple so that we are not trying to think about too many things at once. I would like to see your "thought process" on the short approach shots. Those are the ones I have trouble with.
Karue, why do you slow your right arm down when serving after contacting the ball instead of letting your right hand follow through after contact to end the serve motion with your right hand closer to the left pocket of your shorts? I would think stopping your arm earlier would lead to a loss of racquet head acceleration and power/spin. Thanks! P.S. love the channel and seeing you and ATP players practicing and playing matches. P.P.S. It would be awesome to hear what you do for fitness (quickness and stamina exercises specific to tennis) and injury prevention for tennis (mobility, exercises for rotator cuff, knees, ankles…).
Hey, first of all great channel with a lot of interesting- and clear information. Why do many players choose the two hander instead of the one hand backhand and what are the advantages and disadvantages between the two strokes specifically during matches. In terms of consistency, energy consumption and positioning I see more advantage with the 2 hander but in terms of ball feeling, topspin and angle direction possibilities, I see the one hander as a more powerful weapon.
Also the 2h gives more stability in the shot. Also a lot of coaches (at least the coaches ive known) usually teach a 2handed backhand to beginners since it's easier to learn than the 1handed. Think that's a big reason why many people stick to it because it's hard to switch to a 1h later on while switching from a 1h to a 2h is easier.
the best tennis channel for me. Any plan to review tennis strings? I am currently using v core 95 and love everything about it except low launching angle. Still looking for shaped poly string and couldnot find the right one for me yet. Currently using lynx tour and few different mayami strings.
Another great video! I think a lot of intermediate players struggle adapting to the different tempo of a match vs. practice. A serve typically comes to you faster than a feed. Often the return isn’t hit back cleanly. You’re running to hit a volley (rather than having it fed to you). It’s a lot more herky-jerky than practice where you can get into a groove. Any tips (other than play lots of matches)?
Thank you for the amazing content first of all. I always find tips in every video that you post and it helps me on the court. Im a strong 4.5 player trying to become even better. I always found it hard to be consistent because I love hitting hard. I believe that I can hit hard and be consistent at the same time. People always tell me to stop hitting so hard but I dont believe that they can play the way I play because on days im focused i can hit hard and consistent. I think I can hit heavy and have enough control on the ball. Could you give me any tips?
He’s using different footage from previous videos. He has definitely used some Yonex racquets in the past, but the footage with him discussing his thoughts he is using a new, soon to be released Head racquet. It’s rumored to be called the Boom. That’s the racquet with the Head stencil.
@@amorco He would hit well with any racquet tbh. The new head racquet is said to compete with the Wilson Clash. It does have a widened top hoop so it can look a bit like a Yonex head shape compared to a more traditional oval shape.
Hey Karue, I know u mentioned "accelerating" when covering ground strokes. Could you briefly explain that more? Everytime I "accelerate" my swing, it always shoots long.
Nice video. Karue, you should be a UTR Paid Hitter. Im sure tons of players will pay to have a hitting session with you. Of course, it depends on the cost. Chris Eubanks is charging $400/hr! Yikes!
Your backhand is esthetic perfection. But that elbow up finish on the forehand is hideous. Haha please stop it seriously Karue it's better to be a bit weaker on the forehand than making it uglier. 😜 Don't Thiemanize your strokes people!
@@harryherman5371 I don't believe it is benificial to any tennis player to model his strokes to anyone elses. Although as a kid I probably did. I would say that my forehand probably most resembles somewhere between Agassi and Rios. Short backswing. Not really loopy.
Thanks for an incredible review of your game and points to keep in mind during match play

Love the 2nd serve "inhale" idea! Your dramatization of a timid 2nd serve is too real.
For real I thought he saw me play 🤣
Credit to my former coach but yes it is such a valuable tip
Your backhand is perfect and simple, and the instruction has been great. It has changed the way I hit my two hander. Thank you.
