Your return series was 🔥. The tip that helped me the most was when you mentioned that the returner isn't supposed to be winning most of the points and his/her goal is to bring the point to neutral. That mindset shift improved my return game a lot, especially against big servers. Maybe a series on the serve would be beneficial, with some tips for players that don't have as big of a serve or are more on the shorter side? Keep up the great work!

I'm not even on the same planet as your level, but staying mobile on the 2nd serve really hit home for me. Many people I play basically float their second serve -- it's tempting to try to hit it offensively, but I often end up reaching for the ball. I'd almost rather face a "big" server at my level -- less time to think and just getting a racket on the ball is an accomplishment.
I know what you mean, most players make this same mistake! But staying mobile makes things completely different, and over time as you get more used to this idea, you will see how that will make things easier on the court!

Funny this video appears in my list today. Just yesterday I found myself having problems returning second serves from a player that had a huge first serve, but a kinda slow, short, and very spinny second serve because I was getting "stuck" after my split step, miscalculating the time the ball will get to me. I think I missed more of his second serves than his big first serves, which I was basically blocking back to his court. Great video!

Great content on return of serves Karue! I really enjoyed it and this helped me against a big server a few weeks ago. It actually does make returning a lot more fun now. haha. I looked for small cues on where he would serve and I was able to get quite a few back to neutral or make him frustrated with himself. I would love a series on the different types of serves you can do like flat, slice or kick serves. It would even help on explaining the mindset of serving which you do so well in your other videos. I think that is the key thing in many of these videos that have helped me think about tennis.
Big targets. Bring the point to neutral. Great stuff! I’ve been struggling with returning dink second serves of 3.5 level players. Slow, sleepy, loopy serves. I tend to hit too hard or too soft and make unforced errors. I’ll try the big targets and bring the point to neutral technique. 👍
thanks for the videos, this week I played my first game in 5 years since a knee ligament injury and your videos really helped me with technique and mindset. The game was close but I ended up falling short with an inconsistent serve and over thinking my plays leading to unforced errors but hopefully with time I get better. Thanks again
@@K4R3N train every other muscle in your leg to take the strain off of your knee, particularly your thighs and hamstring. Squats, split squats, leg press. Stuff like that are ideal. I struggled with lateral movements which is quite important in tennis so look for lateral movement weight transfer exercises. Biggest thing I would say is to listen to your knee, if it's causing a lot of pain, it's best to stop ice it and continue on another day, a little bit of pain is manageable but it got to a point for me where I couldn't walk properly. The pain stopped me from doing all sports because when I tried to get back into exercise I went in too hard. But start small and build up the amount you are doing.

It’s almost like there are too many options or I think too much when I earn the neutral / attackable ball. Love the stuff you are creating!
I would love to see a series on the progression and build up of points. You have done returning serves but it would be useful to see a series on controlling and playing out the rallies and then choosing a good moment to try to play a finisher and when certain shots are appropriate
My notes: More mobile More shoulder rotation (still a short swing) Aim for the opponent's weakness. If you see this, I have a question Karue, would you say you have to wait a little more on the second serve? I find I sometimes go too early and end up skying the second serve.
I’d like to see a series on how to finish points. Im pretty good at working the point to get a short ball but once I get it, struggle with short balls. Do I hit it cross court? Down the line? Forehand? Backhand? Topspin? Slice? Dropshot? I know it all depends but I feel like it’s too many options.
If it's on your backhand side hit a backhand and viceversa. If you managed to put your opponent off court, hit it on the other side, you'd rather hit slow but accurate than fast but off court. If you think you can catch your opponent off guard you can pull off a drop shot or a short ball as well

I coach my daughter before the matches but it seems to overwhelm her but without it seems her mind seems to be stateless. What should your state of mind be at 30-30? Attacking to reach 30-40 and be ready for that 1 point to get the game. What should your mind be when you play tie breakers, play ultra conservative because very few points at stake? Knowing tennis is a game of who makes the most errors. What is your mind set before the match, start slowly and don't aim too close the line or start pounding at the opponent weakness to take an early lead? Wondering what is your take on this crucial aspect of the game. The mind. Thank you in advance.

Karue brother you gotta level your sound better. Your content is superb, your game is enviable, and your visual framing is always good. But some bits of your video (e.g. intro here) are super loud, whereas your first indoor shot is much quieter. The level on your court footage is perfect. I've noticed this in your other videos also, I watch them pretty religiously.
Bro, those are not weak. The ones I face are just bunted in mostly flat or slice. Do you have any specific thoughts on that? Congrats on the new ranking @karuesell
The biomechanics are a little different on the 1-H backhand but the key principles Karue has been discussing still apply, like having less time for a full turn, loading off your outside leg and not pre-setting into your neutral stance before contact. For a 1hbh, you can't "play through" an open stance without feeling off balance, but what you CAN do is prepare for the ball in a semi-open stance, and then step through into your normal neutral stance just AFTER contact. If you look at great returners off that wing (like Roger Federer in 2017) you'll notice that they actually hit the return in mid-air, since they load in a semi-open stance, move their body weight forward through contact and then land with their step through after the ball is already gone.

My suggestion is "game patterns", combinations of shots to win points (not single winners).
