Frank Zappa has always been an underrated guitarist, but he is among the most technical to ever exist. His solos always have a lot of melody, harmony and a large dose of brilliant improvisation. He deserved to be more recognized for his virtuosity on his instrument.

I have a hard time with this song , it used to be one of my favorite Zappa songs but now it depresses me , I saw Dweezil Zappa play this at the Zappas Universe concert days before Frank's Death & much of the audience wept ,.including Dweezil as he played , which made me weep .
I saw FZ a lot & have so many fond memories of the 60''s & 70's but this song makes me realize my Times nearly up , life's short kids & 60 yrs goes by in the blink of an eye .
Last summer I was 15 & watching The Mothers play live , now today I've got 15 yr old grand kids .

      Hello Micheal Ledford
I'm 20 years old, and don't claim to understand your feelings at all.
But Time is a very mysterious experience.
We can't be sure that Time doesn't have something else for you after your death.
Time seems to be infinite, and you are engraved in it.
As Franck Zappa's music is, youre child are too.
The feeling of time passing by is only a feeling.
Are you sure your engraving will disapear one day?
I think i'll apreciate my 60s like my 20s now.
      Have a nice day!

I remember when I was a kid, the girl next door was about 15-16 and working part time at a radio station, they were switching away from records and going to tapes, and she would bring home massive boxes of records all the time, and she offered them to me, which ever ones I wanted. I rummaged through and picked out a few, ( I was maybe 8-10 yeas old) and I found this one with a yellow label with the word Zappa on it, so I grabbed it coz it looked cool. Man it blew me away.

HAS to be one of the best live video performances of Frank’s playing, where we actually get to see him really get into the solo, and the cameraman actually panned out instead of just focusing on the finger work. FZ covered all musical genres, all quirky peoples traits, and all the fuckwit mentality in politics. That was his legacy to us all. And to think Frank was a drummer, who picked up the guitar and taught himself at age 18 or so. A self taught musical genius. Composer, conductor, and instrumentalist. Zappa kicks ass on this solo here. Who else can compare?

Stupendous! One of the best FZ lic=ve performances with plenty of searing guitar for ANY buff. Long, intensely creative and mind blowing. Every guitar player is unique, yet many generally sound similar to someone else. Not this guy. Completely different, yet very much like Hendrix in the sense that he was all his own and can never be truly touched. Dweezil(of course) is the closest for obvious reasons, yet admittedly can't duplicate. The class is all Frank's own. Wonderful work.

The master. I don't think I have seen Frank so animated during a guitar solo - particularly the headbanging around the 3.30 mark. The greatest improviser on the guitar I've heard.

One of the VERY few available guitar prominent vids w/out filler. Great audio as well. This is the stuff to send to friends who expect guitar players to get-to- business. Excellent display w/ great close-ups of his phrasing. A quintessential example of Frank's one-of-a-kind execution on the instrument.

Ahhhhhh.....another Zappa to add to the collection. Not only was he insanely creative with material, voicing, and arranging, this clip demonstrates that he is right up there with the best guitarists. Listening to his work is always a very intense artistic and intellectual exercise. Once you finally kinda "get it", you get blown away by the fact that all of what you hear from Frank is ........written down! What a true monster who is sorely missed.

The lyrics to his songs still fit in with today’s society. I Am The Slime is a good example. I was lucky to see him in the 80’s at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby Pa.
