I really love that Kayla didn’t limit herself too much on packs in this build. It was so cool to see new items being used. I don’t have many packs so it was neat to see stuff that I don’t have!
I really wanna see simsie build a house that she loves. no restrictions, any packs, any cc, any budget, just her building freely. I feel like there’s always a challenge, which is fun don’t get me wrong, but I think this would be a fun change

i love these kind of videos, you always build the same kind of houses, usually with only base game items, and this is really good. You should build these creative kind of houses more often
When wanting to mix black/metals with wood and achieve a warm feeling, warm toned woods are where its at. So, lighter tones and cherrywood vs the dark oak/dark walnut/dark mahogany vibes most of the wood choices in this build has.
Kayla has been saying "love you" at the end of her videos a lot recently, and Dan is her editor and I just think that's the cutest ❤️

I love this! This is probably one of my favorite builds from you lately.
Video/Stream Suggestion: find a weird/wacky/fun house with a floor-plan, but don't look at the floor-plan. Try to build it with just how you think the layout would be with the listed required number of bedrooms, living spaces, etc. Then compare (alt would be compare and do a quick version of the actual floor-plan and see them in the Sims side by side)!
The weirder the house the better. Maybe friends/fans can send some in so you know they are possible in the Sims to start with.
Love to see you getting out of your comfort zone! I'm literally on the gallery right now placing this in my game, it's so cute!

Kayla should do a playlist of her living in this house using the rags to riches challenge if you don't understand:
Kayla starts off with nothing but a tree and builds up to have a big treehouse. she has to do dumpster diving to get money, knowing it's her favorite strategy. use the things that you get from the dumpster and if they don't work for off the grid, at least you get some money for it. also, this has to be on a short life span, making your sims have a child so if your sim dies you have another person to work with. it has to be off the grid making it much more difficult, the point is to go from rags to riches.
I suggest Kayla makes a let's play and goes from a bad treehouse to an amazing treehouse. this seems like an absolute challenge but I know you enjoy a challenge and the rags to riches challenge, so you should enjoy this. do this for the fans, WE LOVE YOU AND YOUR BUILDS KAYLA!!!

It would be fun if we could have glass walls as a wall type, mainly so you could apply it to roofs so you can have triangular windows in the sides of the roof for houses like this to look nicer!
This is honestly my favourite build you've ever made, everything is perfect. This is exactly what i want irl, a one bedroom, writers cabin in the middle of nowhere. I love it!!!

You know watching Lilsimsie is like watching the inside of my brain when I’m building. I love it!
I did an A-frame house once it was like 8x12 squares, It had a nice large sitting room to the back with a big window and door surface out to a terrace, o the side was the entrance in a little outlet extension of the roof to give it a little hallway to change shoes and keep the cold outside, to the front there was a 2x4 Bathroom as stairs I used some spiral staircase, there was a 4x4 Kitchen (my personal minimum) and a dining area which was about 4x4 aswell with a small side balcony to the side (across from the entrance) and then on the loft floor, I didn't put a full floor front to back wall, but 2/3, so on the back end you have a banister and can look down into the living room and through the big glass surface on the backside aswell, so lots of light coming in and you can look out into nature and it is still a true loft character.

i really love your builds. when i'm studying I usually have the tiny home or budget build challenge videos on in the background. i honestly used to spend no time really working on my sims builds but your stuff inspired me to do more building in game and now i find it really really fun :D
The textures in the Island Living pack is my go-to for building cabins. I love either building dark modern lofts or mountain cabins 🖤
Also, you gotta double the size of A-frames to keep things closer to scale from that 2-3 square wide wall (with the windows in the loft) 👀

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I always enjoy your builds more when you use any pack you want. Usually I watch your builds just to watch them, not to download them, so it’s much more interesting when you have more item options! If I want to download it and don’t have the packs, I can just fill in the gaps

Faded stone is just stone that has a bunch of stuff on top of it, like grass, moss, or dirt. I tend to spray a thin layer of dirt or grass overtop the stone to blend it.
I think I said this on the last A-frame house too, but you can get space inside your 'walls' by making some sections with glass rooves. The glass roof makes the 'wall' disappear on the roof piece so then you can place things like desks (or even a full kitchen) inside there, and it lets light into the build from the sides. James Turner made an A-frame with this technique years ago.

Hey Simsie! I love your videos so much they always make my day! Also a tip I learned recently is if you use the cube cubbies from dream home decorator you can make items the perfect height for your surfaces when you size down items! It’s similar to how you would alt place things on kitchen counters where you’d have to move the counter out of the way, but if you use those cubbies you can alt them to the same height as your sized down table (like the nightstands at 15:18) and alt the lamp or any item into place at the right height! It has changed so much for me!
