I advise you to get them and ski them and love them. If you want a shorter turn capacity, you could size down without sacrificing much performance, but if you are looking for better stability in longer turns, the 172 is fine.
They basically do all the same things, the Stockli does it quieter and smoother. The Atomic feels more harsh, and that's mainly due to their race-room style of ski construction.
Decided to go with the Redster X9S. Reading between the lines on their reviews, it seems like X9S has 95% of what the Stockli does (at least performance wise) at ~50% the price. At that kind of "savings" can't pass up trying it out. Context: I am reworking into a legit ski quiver this year. So for instance, with just the savings of going with the X9S vs WRT Pro I could spring for something like the 2023 Enforcer 100, with bindings etc and still have money leftover. Will report back, but likely 6 weeks before I am able to give any feedback. @@UnknownOne-l6z
Great ski. Absolute beast on hardpack. Obviously likes to be on edge. Rock solid at speed. Shape enables all turn lengths. No regrets. Not for soft snow.
