In the song "Welcome To Rosas", Asha sings that the king has lightning hands and eyes that glow. She then says she's just kidding. By the end of the movie, Magnifico does have lightning for hands and eyes that glow.
As any other american film based on europe, they ignore so much and just stay on the surface. This film is meant to be ambiented near the medieval iberian peninsula, as they say on the mediterranean, so it whould have shown a lot of Andalusian or Catalanoaragonese influence, but all the stuff I've been able to see spanish-coded, is clearly going the Castilian way. That's a huge error, since the mediterranean was the Crown of Aragon's Area of influence, while the crown of Castille was more Atlantic-centered. This falls on the typical american missconception of europe where there is only one culture per country, and that's a huge error, since europe is a great mossaic of different faiths and cultures. Just to look at the iberian peninsula, there are Andalucians, Aragonese (almost extinct, but still holding on the pyrinees), Asturians, Basques, Castilians, Catalans, Galicians, Leonese, Portuguese, etc. On the last years there has been a lot of effort to promote those national minorities who have been historically diminished and forgotten. The languages of the diminished cultures are even oficial alongside castilian! Yet this film tends to fall to the old "All spanish must be castilian and only speak Castilian. And thematically? Rosas don't seem as anything remotely hispanic-looking.
That's without talking about the book at the start. The artstyle of the book clearly is a nod to the early disney films, but the style is very Northern European, and in the mediterranian the artstyle was very influenced by the Byzantine romans, specially on the mediterranian coast of the iberian peninsula

Some people say 100 year celebration was weak, but it was good. All lot of things happened in it like the Super kitties, Pupstruction, new pals. Once upon a studio, the references. I looked up the song wish upon a star and said it was Pinocchio. Oops thought it was Cinderella. Oh well, Disney isn't perfect but it has ups and downs and highs and lows, Disney is still amazing and has come a long way. You should see the credits of this movie. Wish, is definitely gonna be underrated. While I was watching this, I did a little roleplay with kids and other Disney characters going through the adventure.
The beginning and end are good. The middle part is clunky, it’s packed with exposition and has a lot of syllable changes and half rhymes, which makes it feel like rambling. Also a lot of its information was already kind of explained in the story book at the beginning. I feel like they should’ve added the remaining details to that bit, then used the middle of this song to display Asha’s character a little bit. What is her relationship with the town’s people outside of her immediate friends and family? What are her initial motivations?
I love Wish so much. This is one of my favorite Disney movies ever and it was an amazing and beautiful way to celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary😍🥰💖💜💙🌈🦄📱
Such a great song! I’m glad I didn’t hear the whole song before seeing the movie. I was nervous how the music was going to turn out for the movie in spite of a few snippets I heard. And Hamilton/The Prom made me an instant Ariana fan
I saw this movie and it was sooo Amazingly Clear and Heartfelt with the sound effects of the ground shaking and 💺 seating vibration. My son and his friends loved it.

Everyone brings up “This is the Thanks I Get” when trying to criticize this movie but most Disney movies have one or two songs that don’t really fit. But with the exception of that song the rest of the soundtrack is pretty solid.

I heard someone explain that one of the reasons people are hating on the animation quality is because they turned off motion blur, because they wanted people to be reminiscent of when that wasn’t available to film. Instead it made people think of tv shows where that kind of animation isn’t available, like the new megamind show. It’s especially visible with the main characters hair because of how braids like that would/should be animated.

Agreed. I will never understand the people who say the art style looks bad. The music is amazing (imo), but the lyrics are, certainly something. The plot is meh, but I don’t see any glaring issues with it other than the villain’s motivation. All around it’s a decent movie, not Disney’s worst one by far despite what a lot of people say.
The return of 2D and magic! ❤️ They worked so hard on it! It's incredible! It has its own style (like the firsts Disney) which is so beautiful, the 2D/3D mix, the format which is the same as Sleeping Beauty, and watercolor painting style, which can make think of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, I love! 😍 The characters are all so cool, Asha and her friends (representing the 7 dwarves), I love Star because they gave him Mickey's personality and facial expressions! 😍 The songs are so good, and the music is super powerful, certain musical notes remind me of the first Disney, it's so cool! The story is so beautiful, and super worked, with all the additional references, making wishes meant so much to Walt Disney! References to other disney are cool and the direct ones to Walt Disney are moving, like the Wishing Tree or Asha who draws and scroll through the pages! Wish is perfect! For the 100th anniversary it is perfect! ❤️🎉 So many emotions! He has such positive energy, it feels good! So moving, catchy and funny! The mix of old and new is incredible! An original story full of magic and the return of 2D! Whilst I think the storyline could have been improved in some ways, I think the songs are out of this world and some of the best I have ever witnessed in a Disney film. Disney should stop making sequels or Real live adaptations of Their older movies ... they really had something going with their villain stories turned into movies 😅 i really enjoyed watching cruella and maleficent😊 !!! Come ok Disney make something amazing and original again 😢

Even Asha’s friends blend in with the background to be honest The kingdom looks so dry and lifeless so that doesn’t help the desaturated character designs stand out any better
This song is nice...now if only it could coexist with the conflict in the movie. It completely invalidates Asha's offense at the king not granting wishes and still keeping them, as it shows she knew and was fine with it.

Everyone thought that Rosas was a place where wishes come true.
But it's actually where dreams go to die.
Idk in encanto even the villager are memorable so many unique background character but in wish they just blend in with the background
Fr all the background characters are so colorless!!!!
Even Asha’s friends blend in with the background to be honest
The kingdom looks so dry and lifeless so that doesn’t help the desaturated character designs stand out any better
Anyone notice how at 2:02 the guy to the left of her on the stairs has a beard and then it disappears and reappears

This song is nice...now if only it could coexist with the conflict in the movie. It completely invalidates Asha's offense at the king not granting wishes and still keeping them, as it shows she knew and was fine with it.
