      @kamikeserpentail3778 4 года назад +70

      @@mawinstallation6626 Parasites don't always kill the host, they usually don't. It can actually be better for them if they don't, since without the host they die. Unless of course death of the host is part of the parasite's life cycle, and is required for reproduction.
      Despite being called Parasites, Metroids are actually predators. They don't ever live in or on the host for extended periods of time, they simply kill them quickly. In theory they could be parasitic toward large life forms, or ones with large amounts of energy, but they were created to kill the X parasites (which also aren't parasites, but could be classified as parasitoids since their cells are capable of developing within a host organism for a time before become full X and consuming the host)

      Pardon me, but I just came up with a theory. What if malice-like powers are just the basic powers of demons and other magics may be just be learned? Bellum needed to put his entire form into possessing the ghost ship while Ganon was able to send blasts of malice to possess the sheikah tech in Hyrule. This leads me to believe that the power of the malice used by a demon correlates to the power of the demon making/using it. "A simple yet quite unbreakable spell" in Ganon's case while Bellum is presumably not as powerful as this universe's version of Satan/Lucifer .

    You know, if you really think about it.... Phantom Hourglass is almost a retelling of Link's Awakening.
    >Link washes up on an island.
    >He kills monsters all connected to one, dare I say, nightmarish entity.
    >One of the people you've been trying to help get his lifeforce back is a giant whale.
    >The ending shows Link believing it was a dream, but sees something that indicates it was real. In PH case, it's Linebeck's ship while in LA he sees a seagull while hearing Marin's song.
    >As you pointed out, Phantom can mean Dream, especially since Bellum is known as a "Dream Demon".
    There's probably a lot more I'm missing.

    • @Awesomeflame16
      @Awesomeflame16 10 месяцев назад +2

      In links awakening it all was just a dream, the island never actually existed and only seemed to because the windfish was forced to sleep. Where in PA it seems the world was actually real, but some sort of alternative world I guess?
      I can see the parallels, but there's many differences too tbh.

    Assume the Sands of Hours is the physical manifestation of life force and the purple goop in Breath of the Wild is the physical manifestation of Malice. What if all beings are made of life force, but in evil beings such as Ganon or Bellum, some of that life force is transformed into Malice? This would explain why in at least Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild (those being the only Zeldas I’ve played personally), when you kill enemies or bosses they die in a sort of purple explosion. In Phantom Hourglass, they also explode into the Sands of Hours. These bursts of material are their Malice and life force leaving the dead monster.

    SPOILERS FOR THE MANGA! It’s really good, so i recommend reading it.
    The ghost ship wasn’t made by Bellum, but cursed by him. And it was the ship where Linebeck worked. When it got cursed, Linebeck took the only escape boat and left the rest of the crew to wander the cursed ship forever. Which was why Linebeck wanted to find the ghost ship. I love the Ocean King's theme in the outro. It's one of the most underrated themes in the Zelda series.
    Also, by your logic, the Triforce itself would be a form of life force, the life force of the goddesses and, by definition, the most powerful manifestation of life force to ever exist, so powerful that it can grant any wish.

  • @Eric4bz
    @Eric4bz 2 года назад +9

    Bit of a wild tangent, but I like to think I have an idea of where Bellum came from.
    It's possible that Bellum was just a normal squid at one point.
    As we know, time spent in the realm of the ocean king is not the same as time spent in the world of Hyrule. It's possible that it could be an afterlife for those at sea, however so much time has passed, it's just 'life' for the people there, not the 'afterlife'. Oshus, the Ocean King, was possibly worshipped as a shepherd who would gather souls lost at sea and bring them there. It's possibly why there's so much hourglass symbolism in the temple - reminiscent of Death's hourglass. When time runs out, you are claimed by death. Oshus, however, arrives at that moment to bring you to his realm, where people can live in peace.
    And what source of malice died out at - or rather under - the great sea? Ganondorf.
    In the time spent between the end of Windwaker and the beginning of Phantom Hourglass, Ganondorf was probably brought to the realm of the ocean king, and with him, his malice. Something went wrong, however, and that malice worked to inhabit a form that could drain life force. Once it found a suitable host, Bellum, it latched on and changed it, feeding on smaller prey until it was strong enough to take on the Ocean King himself. At that point, he fed. Fed to spread the malice, the influence he had. Once he had enough power, he made the ghost ship to travel between the realms and steal more souls, and eventually Tetra, like you said. This could have been an intelligent choice to actively seek out Zelda, and reclaim the power that was once in Ganondorf's hands. With that, he may have been strong enough to return to the realm of Hyrule, with far more souls to feed upon.

    • @angelmendez-rivera351
      @angelmendez-rivera351 4 года назад +25

      NintendoBlackCrisis Not quite. While you did mention that the Light Force and Life Force are implied to be the same given the Japanese name, this would be canonically, since it would imply a contradiction. The Gratitude Stones, which according to your theory, are a crystallization of Life Force, existed at least since the events of Skyward Sword. However, the Light Force originates from the Minish in the Minish Cap, who have only been shown to exist in this game. Since the events of the Minish Cap occur centuries after those of Skyward Sword, at least according to the official encyclopedia by Nintendo, this would mean the Light Force would not have existed for as long as the Life Force. Furthermore, even if they were one and the same force, this has absolutely nothing to do with the Triforce. In Japanese, the Triforce is simply known as Toraiforsu, which is the Romaji for the Japonification of the word, and as such, it has no semantic connections to the Japanese word for force used in the games, especially because even if Force were just to be Forsu, Torai is not a real Japanese prefix, making it semantically meaningless. This, combined with the fact that the existence of the fourth Triforce piece has been deconfirmed, is simply sufficient to show that there is no real connection. At least not yet, anyway. Maybe the sequel to Breath of the Wild will change this, but until this happens, there is no affirmative conclusion to be made here.
      At best, if you can indeed establish for sure that the Light Force and the Life Force are just one and the same, all this proves is that there exists an essence known as Malice, and another known as Force, and the former originates from the Demon Tribe, and the latter from the Goddess Tribe. And this is a significant discovery, but not quite anything like the confirmation of the "missing piece of the Triforce." If anything, the triangle in the middle that is empty is simply a consequence of the geometry of triangles. There is no way to group three equilateral triangles to form a composite, larger equilateral triangle with such a gap. And since the shape of the Triforce is supposed to reflect its relationship to the triforce pieces, this is the only shape it could have taken in. Calling it another piece is interesting, but a big stretch, as you yourself have discussed in previous videos.

      @@angelmendez-rivera351 well yeah. All of this makes sense from a rational point of view, but nintendo has not make sense of a coherent, logical plot devices, they are trying as best as they can to reboot the lore retelling with BoTW... thats why its in its own timeline.Although I understand that to make an affirmative conclussion is not entirely reasonable, Nintendo has always gone their way... in short, making an affirmation even it it doesnt fit cannon is still valid as a theory, otherwise the story could be easily predicted. Its very likely that nintendo will use a plot device that is not enitrely coherent with previous canonic data, just to push the franchise gameplay where they want...just an opinion. They are not just going to tell you a conclusive story easily as it a very large part of zeldas selling put its in fact its ambiguous, mysterious, incoherent fragments that hook the lore nerds, casual or not, to the game.

    • @sprocket0077
      @sprocket0077 4 года назад +7

      I think instead of the missing fourth piece, it’s just the combined general power of the golden goddesses, or perhaps the power of Hylia. I think this could explain where the power behind the light arrows comes from, and also the light sprits from Twilight Princess (who might be physical manifestations of life force themselves).

    Well, this definitely backs up his far more monstrous adaptation in the Phantom Hourglass manga, that's for sure.
    I have this small theory that Bellum and Malladus both only came into play because Ganondorf, the physical reincarnation of Demise's malice, was permanently killed off in the Adult timeline, thus opening that particular timeline to an evil power vacuum that demons were scrambling over each other to fill, and Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass Link breaking the cycle ultimately created more problems than he actually solved by repeatedly perma-killing these powerful demons since he leaves room for some other ultimate evil to come in. That's just me, though.

    When you feel like a Zelda theory nailed something. I think this is pretty solid. How many games have connections.
    SS, MC, FS, Oot, FSA, PH, ST, and there could be others as well. It could also quite possibly be how MM gained so much power, but I don't have any evidence to back that up, but considering that the triforce isn't once listed. In fact, for the FD mask, it says that it is as if "all the memories of the people in termina" are in the mask. The Fused Shadows absorbed Zant, so it could be that too, but honestly I can't say. The one timeline that this has taken a back seat on is the downfall timeline, also Wind Waker. The triforce could also be part of the life force of the gods. Actually now that I think about it, there is one game in the downfall timeline, one that received a very recent remake.
    Link's awakening. Koholint island very well could be created by the Wind fish's life force. I know it's a dream of the wind ship, but then how did link end up there. It is another world created by the wind fish in his sleep, and his life force was drained to make the island, keeping him asleep.Perhaps the instruments were major pieces of his life force and at a certain point, he has enough life force to take back the rest of it. Unless you get the true ending, in which case Marin stays.
    Most of this is just baseless speculation, but still.

    Maybe when the sword in botw drains links health it’s reviving a small portion of its power and the fact that it doesn’t have the power of the sages or other heroes that have been linked to the sword is why even after being fully awakened requiring link to be even stronger it holds its power longer but not indefinitely and you could also say the embodiment of hylia Zelda using her power to seal Gannon means that the sword isn’t necessarily able to use her strength as she’s used most of it herself
