THIS 64 ATTEMPTS thing can burn the starter even before the 64th attempts ruining the whole thing. Also the suspense / thrill that goes along with it is not a game; EVEN JO was exhausted man.
Joe, one thing that's slightly confusing? At 10:15 it prompts you for pre processing even though you're going to attempt via ignition switch. Then you tell it NO. Can you explain? What if you accidentally said YES? Why does the tool word it this way?
What happens if you go through all 64 and doesn’t start due to another issue like fule or other issues but you can’t tell what attempt should start the car . Do you damage anything if it’s skipped?
Is there constant power to the obd2 reader even with the ignition off? Or how do you get your scan tool to establish communication without the ignition being on?
I have a question please. My problem is I purchased a used 2008 5 series off marketplace with no start and the shifter showing stuck in park/neutral position issue. Meanwhile before I could get my scan tool ordered and here my puppy got a hold of my key fob and chewed it. I ordered a replacement key from used bimmerparts online they recommend I have the key flashed as a dealership won't touch it. I'm confused on how to approach this issue because I want to just buy the software/hardware and do it myself. What do you recommend I can do about this? Thank u in advance. Look forward to you answer
Call a locksmith. Flash used key equipment is expensive, and then you still need to program the key to the car, which means buying more equipment. Just buy a new aftermarket key ( they are cheap ) and have a locksmith program it will save you a few hundred and a headache.
Did you ever figure that out? Just curious because that’s just about an impossible problem to solve for a beginner who doesn’t even have a scan tool lol

I bought a pair of HEAVY DUTY (at least 2 gauge) jumper cables and hook it up to my RUNNING service vehicle. For the longest time I used a CHEAP Chinese set of cables and never knew that my high failure rate was due to CHEAP cables.
@@ziemenz13vali38 even if u solder or do on bench u will still have to do 64 attempts for this particular model because the Dme does not provide a full 32 digits isn. It will give u 4 digits. The dull isn retrieval is done in the background as soon as the vehicle starts and for the 15-30mn u are required to keep it on for sync purposes
Hi, I am having an issue after programming a new used oem key. I can start the car with the key inserted but the buttons on the fob dont do anything. Any ideas why the buttons dont work?

What if it has ME9 ecu ? U need a working key or a Isn. But only gives you short Isn not long in order to make a key
I actually short this was the one. ME9 is the devil 😈 lol. 64 attempts is the only way. If that fails, it is the end of everything lol

Joe had a BMW class recently- you would have learned the answer my friend if you took the class
The semi smart are the non keyless keys. Keyless one are smart keys.
Do you use a battery voltage maintainer? Which one ?
