Diagnosis:skill issue
Most biased take on the patch notes I have seen. Wastly overstating minor Nerfs to terran and hardly mentioning the Nerfs for the other races. Like a 0.125 range reduction on Emp is game-breaking, but 1.0 range reduction on fungal is irrelevant. Yeah sure..

I'll say this - it wasn't brood lords and infestors that killed the game, it was the metagame that allowed Zerg to get to that build in damn near every single game because it was damn near impossible to punish them for being greedy with their macro, which made the pro tier metagame incredibly stale and an actual chore to watch.
you know, it's funny that you call out the problem with defender's advantage being too weak when i've heard other skilled SC2 players complain that defender's advantage has been too STRONG since the worker count increase.
I'm not saying anyone is more correct than anyone else - I really don't know and have no skin in the game - but I'm intrigued at the different points of view that different players have.

they cant nerf zerg because zerg cant attack off creep vs any race except by abusing how protoss can barely get its third up and then they play for either cheesing it or just slowing it down until their economy explodes.. zerg do similar vs terran, if they play low eco they usually just lose, if they dont get a huge lead in eco they lose, and they cant attack they just mass expand and camp and use eco lead by suiciding banes to slow down the future bases of terran.
The game is balanced through play, the game is not "Balanced" it has tons of issues, but its balanced through meta game :)
I play all 3 race at GM level, Zerg has needed nerfs for like 20+ patches, I think the maps are mostly the issue nowadays, I agree the game is decently balanced through people's play atm. Funny enough I think Terran bio is completely busted because the maps are busted with no defender's advantage.
SC1+SC2 maps are supposed to have defender's advantage and that's completely non-existent on all 7 maps which is crazy

They don't understand how systems work. So they blindly crank levers on individual units.
