Thank you for having me on, David! I enjoyed the talk and grateful for the opportunity to add to the discussion of benzo recovery.

My Dr’s decision to put me on benzodiazepines over a simple health problem at the time almost gave me a lifetime sentence on this demonic drug. I was able to get off benzodiazepines 6 months ago and I am starting to get a lot better. Thank you David and Dan for your RUclips coaching. If it was not for you guys I could’ve possibly reinstated and now I am almost free.

Coach Powers, Dan, great video! I resonate with this deeply as a self conscious, anxious, bullied, gay kid... Perfect recipe for the BIND I have now... Thank you for letting me not feeling alone with anxiety and trauma..

You’re definitely not alone. I was also bullied as a kid and, subsequently, felt inferior and “on the outside” of life. I carried around a feeling of being less-than for a very long time.

@@philosophicalfishingI grew up always feeling different, never felt as good as everyone else, with an emotionally abusive narcissistic mother. For 26 YEARS I took a cocktail of psych meds. Only paroxetine to go and then I'll finally be FREE ❤

This was a great video !!! It was positive and intellectual !!!! I'm 11 weeks off benzo's after 26 years and I'm feeling pretty good now !!!! My CNS has been battered with a cocktail of benzo's, SSRI'S, mood stabilisers. I didn't need ANY of them. I was in tolerance withdrawals !!!! For YEARS !!!!
I'm nearly free. Only paroxetine to go !!!! 🤗
Thanks for all this wonderful information 🤗

I’m struggling after 23 years of being on benzos. Anyone can help me climb out of this dark hole I’d be forever in their gratitude. I’m an artist too btw. I truly want my life back. Thank you for the video… about to listen to you guys with some hope …

You should really considering checking out my video course on benzo recovery. Very different take and approach on recovery. Being an artist, you likely have some natural attributes that can really assist your recovery.

Dave - what video course are you talking about? Is it he school that you now have for $30 a month? Or something else?

You two have so much in common. Both coaches, both been through Benzo withdrawal ( obviously) both love your fishing and both musicians. ( was just thinking you could join up with our friend D and form a band).just my imagination . Lol. The three D’s. 😊❤😂

Sorry that I am taking over the comments section. I have watched the whole interview this rainy day in the uk. This has been a really great interview . Very relaxed and informative.I would love to join your recovery school David , but I have joined another group ( Balissa’s) and I love it there and have many friends on there. I wouldn’t be able to join two groups , so will have to continue watching you both here on the utube channel. I have watched all of these interviews and loved them all ( though didn’t like the mushroom lady one tbh. )..❤😊

No worries at all. I appreciate the comments. And I understand about the groups. I will say I have a recovery program that I think is worth exploring, even for just the month, which contains a lot of information and course materials not provided here. My youtube channel is more stream of consciousness. My school is a school, more than a group.

Great discussion by two evolved men. I did not heal from pre-existing depression but find that when I go into waves, my pre-existing depression can add to the wave depression and I find myself in really bad shape for a day or, at most, two. My waves used to be constant but now are only every 6-8 weeks or so. Thank you for pushing back to the absolutes, I was one of the few who tried pushing back on what I consider dangerous propaganda like “you can’t heal while you are on other prescription drugs.” I lost a friend who believed this nonsense and cold turkeyed their anti-depressant while in cold turkey benzo withdrawal and guess how that turned out? They aren’t here and most likely would be experiencing some good days by now and enjoying one of their hobbies which was fishing, but the anti-psychiatry creeps who are rooted in Scientology succeeded. Btw, Dr. Witt interviewed someone from Scientology as if it was a true religion and not what it is, a cult. I lost any respect for him at that point. But that’s just me and you can do whatever you want.

I have a question about feeling safe on my bed. When I’m sitting on my bed, listening to this podcast and other positive videos or watching good series or texting friends, etc., I always feel good. However, when I get up and try to do light housework or take a shower or stand for more than 15 minutes, I get short of breath and get very scared. So I go sit down, and I always feel better. How do I break the habit. The shortness of breath is probably due to POTS (which is common in benzo wd) and/or Adrenal Fatigue or Chronic Fatigue, also due to benzo wd. I’ve had my heart checked, but I’ve become extremely deconditioned and now I don’t seem to be able to do anything that requires any energy. What can I do? I know sitting it the new smoking so I’m very concerned about this.
By the way, I used to go to the gym several times a week and had a strong body & great stamina. Now I have muscle wasting and balance problems. 😬🥹
