    My favorite sharpener for color pencils is the Office Goods V7. My husband did a thorough search of all pencil sharpeners that were on the web and this was the choice of all of them. I’ve had my sharpener now for about 10 years and it is still working very well. You have a choice of point bluntness so you can get the very fine point that works best with colored pencils. I have introduced the sharpener to my colored pencil students and they all rave about it. It’s a little more pricey than some others but it’s the best and it’s worth the extra money you pay for it. It doesn’t break the soft core of your Prismacolor colored pencils or anything else. It comes with an adaptable electric plug-in or you can use AA batteries when you’re somewhere besides in your own home. It’s a winner. Comments by Helen Gromadzki.😊

    Hello Jennifer, I just became a Bliss Apprentice and ordered this today. I have been binge watching your RUclips videos for a few weeks now and I have to say that I'm impressed with what you and your husband have done here. Nice to hear someone say tertiary colors 😁. I am a self taught artist and I love to color for relaxation. I have trouble picking background colors and I know this is just what I need so before it even gets here. Thank You!! You are very much appreciated! Now to explore these wonderful benefits. 💕

    just a suggestion on a sharpener.
    the Dahle 155 is pretty much the same as your Carl but, it does not leave cut marks near the core and the best feature is that it stops sharpening when you reach the set tip point from an adjustment in the back.

    Thanks for the great video. That was a lot of work and will certainly help many of us. Question - how did you choose your three colors for the color wheel tri-tones? For example, in Violet you use 933 - which is Violet Blue as your mid tone. Why not use 932 - Violet? For Blue Violet the mid tone is 1101 - Denim Blue instead of using the Violet Blue, 933. I’m just trying to understand the methodology so as to figure out colors for my set of 72 instead of 150 - trying to figure out what colors I’m short, etc. thanks.

  • @jenniefrench1338
    @jenniefrench1338 3 года назад

    You must be a very patient person because I would have lost my mind swatching all of that out. But I should do that with my over 350. Scary and I use the Caran ‘de ache waterbrush medium size one with the fibrous marker tip. I fill it with 125 neutral thin (like oms without the headache) and the tip and button only dispense the amount needed and doesn’t overdo it. The water brush is self contained and can be thrown into my bag with no leaks. To clean it I just wipe it on a towel.

    Oh no! I started working on the workbook before I saw this video and I colored two of my pages wrong. The blank artist color wheel and the smaller color wheels for light, medium, and dark tones. I didn’t realize that we were supposed to burnish one end of the wedge and go light with the other end of each wedge. I burnished the entire wedge. Is there any way to get just those two pages on the same paper even though I’m just a free bliss member?

    LOVED! this tutorial Jennifer. Two questions. I am working on a very detailed art project where I am utilizing a lot of my my Prismacolor Verithin pencils. I am using them where the items are small, and where I also do not want them to blend, as the Verithins don't blend well which is the desired result. The set is only a 36 piece set and I found myself wishing the set has more colors in it. Can you suggest any other pencils that would work the same as verithins, and offer more colors? Again I am looking for a hardcore pencil with vibrant colors for fine details that does not blend. I would also need them to work well with Prismacolor pencils, which I love. Question 2. Your green nail polish. What color and brand is it? It's Gorgeous. PS. You and Steve are great!

    • @ColoringBliss
      @ColoringBliss  4 года назад +1

      😍🥰 great questions. My mind went straight to the Caran D’Ache Pablo. They are harder core, lots of colors, and high quality. The closest thing to compare them to would be Polychromos but I think they are a little harder. 💚Most of my nails these days are the Kiss Impress glue on nails. Love them! 💚

    I love this! I have all the different brands from you now but have not started coloring them in with being so busy with my own RUclips channel but you really prompted me to get mine out and get coloring.
    Question for you: while this system is awesome for showing you the exact pencils to blend together for a light, medium, and dark shade of one color, how would we apply this knowledge when trying to come up with color combinations/blends? For example, blending from a yellow to orange to yellow. Or from purples to pinks. Or is that a whole additional project? I know I, myself, and tons of my viewers are always looking for color combinations to color in, say, flowers, grasses, trees, etc., etc. I realize there are thousands, if not more, of color combinations/blends out there, but could this be a future project? I know it would be a huge success for you guys as you are awesome!!

    • @ColoringBliss
      @ColoringBliss  4 года назад +2

      Great question and great suggestions. We have chosen to start with the color wheel as a great place to begin with understanding color blending and color schemes. Once you understand how to successfully blend simple tri-tones it becomes more fun and successful to stretch out to the kind of blends you are mentioning. It has been my experience that colorists get frustrated with their blending because they skip this initial phase of understanding the basic control of color.
      😊 Having said that, I do have some plans in the works that take the knowledge to the next step. Yay!

      Currently, Copic is not high on my list for creating tri tones because the color system that Copic has already established does a lot of the work already. Plus...the cost of the markers makes it difficult for me and for many colorists to afford the full set.
