In love with Fleshgod, so much so, I got their logo tattooed on my arm! plus it just looks cool. In case you didn’t know, this song was inspired by a mountain climbing accident that their frontman Francesco Paoli suffered in 2021. Also the bassist very recently left the band so it looks like the female operatics are here to stay
I actually love the contrast between the harsh gutturals and the soaring operatic vocals. There are some songs where that just doesn't work, but I found them quite nice in this case.
the song and the video are based on true life experience of the main guy and singer Francesco, who had a really bad accident in the mountains just like about three years ago, when he was climbing and felt down and almost died, he had to relearn to play guitar again, he damaged his arm really bad
and the opera singer Veronicca, she is now going to sing all the opera and clean singing parts because the guy Paolo, who was doing the cleans before, has left the band for personal reasons
I can’t stand it when extreme bands have those metalcore style clean vocals, but opera stuff is fine imo, adds a cool medieval/occult vibe to it all. Plus pretty much every new deathcore band has opera vocals, they just use a midi plug-in instead of a person 😂 great react as always
