- Our shared love for Vietnamese cuisine naturally led us to one of Hanoi's best walking food tours.
We met up with our fantastic tour guide, Anne, as she welcomed us and led us through the bustling streets of Hanoi. We went from station to station as Anne taught us the history of each dish and what's involved in making them. Every bite was a differnt to the last, showcasing the diverse and delicious nature of Hanoian cuisine.
We tasted dishes ranging from our personal favorites like Phở to unique dried beef salad dishes. Each bite was a delicious adventure, and we finished our tour with one of Hanoi's most popular drinks, the egg coffee!

Definitely a lucky guy! 100% 🙏
Thanks! 😀
Hanoi has some of the BEST food tours I've seen in Vietnam...but your guide has got to be on the bottom 25%. Starting with the banh tom (fried shrimp and sweet potatoes). That should have been eaten wrapped in the greens and herbs then dipped. The sweet stuff with mung bean shouldn’t be dipped into the flavored fish sauce as far as I know, but maybe I’m confusing it with other sweets. The comment about the chili sauce was weird. And knowing you guys have been eating street food on your own without issues, she shouldn’t have even worried. Then she takes you for chicken banh mi…but luckily you guys asked for the beef one, too. I mean, who eats chicken banh mi in Vietnam unless they are totally fresh out of a Western country? Always go for the pork or beef if given a choice. LOL! For the banh cuon, there should be ground pork and mushrooms inside…unless you guys don’t eat pork? Instead of pho, she should have taken you for bun bo Hue as you’re already familiar with pho (unless you guys don’t eat pork). And then the dessert…nothing special about fruit like that. She should have taken you for something more unique like the avocado ice cream or the che troi nuoc (mochi filled with mung beans in a ginger sauce/broth) or something similar. Other vloggers like Mike & Ashley, Sammy and Tommy, Adventures of A+K, MomDuty, This Food Bangz, Flora and Note, etc., had better guides, I think.
I agree. That was a whack food tour. The tour guide sucked.
I thought the comment about the chili sauce was so random LOL
beautiful couple
🙏🙏
Australian the best.I hope you guy have fun the trip
Thanks 😂
We definitely have. Can’t wait to get back to Vietnam as we have left now
👍👍🔥🔥

Your tour guide is a joke. Rule no 2 Never eat the watery chilli sauce? 😮 Pho isn't nice without some of these chilli sauce. Also she took you for a Chicken banh mi, but she prefer the beef banh mi herself. Next time try the authentic banh mi with cold cuts and patee. 😂 Next time get a motorbike street food guide and get out of the Old Quarter because The Old Quarter is a tourist area and the food is more expensive and sometimes not as good. You would have had more choice with transport and I can believe she didn't take you for bun thit nuong. Famous northern dish bbq Pork Vermicelli. Oh and don't believe the rubbish about clear broth isn't oily. The difference between Northern and Southern dishes is.. Southern dishes tent to be sweeter than the north. Enjoy your trips guys. I'm a new subscriber and love your content. 👌 P.s Pho is Thick rice noodles, Pho cuon is Rice noodle Rolls. I give her credit for the Egg coffee spot, it's my favourite coffee spot in Hanoi. Next time try Cong coffee shop and try there Coconut Ice cream coffee. 😊 Also a must try in Vietnam is the famous avocado smoothie
Hi Big Wok!
Thanks so much for your suggestions above. Will definitely check out some of these dishes next time! We love Cong! We would get the coconut coffee drink almost every day, especially when it was a extra hot day! We go to Cong in our Saigon or our main Hanoi video - didnt try the avo smoothie though so will check this out next time.😁
@@therealopenroad In Saigon try Cơm tấm. (Bbq Pork with broken rice) or hủ tiếu (Vermicelli Soup or dry version with mix meat) Bánh xèo. (Vietnamese Pancake with Lettuce wrap and fish sauce) all famous southern dish. 👌
I thought she's the worst of all the Hanoi tour guides I've seen so far. They have so many great guides there, too. I always recommend people go on the food tour, but hopefully not with this guide.
Why does food guide have a mask on ?
I really wish Viets will quit saying pho is French and comes from pot au feu. There's nothing French about pho. It's got more Chinese influence than anything else because of the noodles and spices used. The French don't even really eat noodles, much less in a soup like that! The most credit one can give the French is their love of beef, so the off-cuts were what the Viets were left with, which they used to make pho. Just embrace it as a Vietnamese dish. No need to be apologists. Jeeze. Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest before I finish the video. LOL
From my understanding the word Pho came from "Fanh" which is vermicelli in Cantonese.
Bạn hướng dẫn viên này có vẻ không hiểu biết hết về cách ăn các món việt Nam lên cho thêm gia vị gì ăn sẽ ngon hơn !
No 1 rule …take ur mask off
