    Management accounting roles allow more "flare", I have been a Director of finance in a school location which allows a broader perspective. You need to go through the ranks but there are different types of roles. The more routine roles in finance are the ones most at risk from computerisation.
    With finance being my third career choice through my working life I would also say that although the work is hard and quite often long as you get promoted, other careers that look easy from the outside can be just if not harder from the inside.

    Great Insights Craigo, it's so true that Careers in Accounting and Finance are demanding and so as the work. Really like how you overcame such and improved. I really appreciate your insights and how to become better. Your just an amazing mentor/leader with such, much appreciated🙌. Hope you have an amazing day Craigo!

    Good to have you back Craigo!
    Very insightful video ☺️ maybe we could get a part 2 where you discuss how to combat these ‘cons’ in the profession?
    Using myself in the below example.
    I like tangible results, but would I prefer to build houses for others that can afford it? Or have a house built by others because I can afford it? If the first doesn’t result in the financial opportunity for the second then I would rather pursue a career where job security is high, Salary is above average, have a “work is work” mentality and do DIY building projects around the house in my spare time 😁
    we are curious and creative creatures but we do not live in a free world, our interests / hobbies need to be funded (mostly) and chasing a job/career in an area of passion could actually result in a reduction of passion.
    How we use our spare time and handle our thoughts (good or bad) are key to surviving non-colourful careers. 😇
    Sorry for the long comment 😅

      What a thought provoking and intelligent comment! I completely agree with your conclusion on 'How we use our spare time and handle our thoughts (good or bad) are key to surviving non-colourful careers'.
      I like the idea of part 2, however I've noticed less appetite for content on the negative vs positive comment. Will be one i add to the list but not a priority!!
      Thanks for your comment,
      Craigo :)

    I'm thinking about getting into this. Would be nice to have maybe some of the Pros to these Cons as obviously despite these, you're still doing it. And running a part time RUclips channel about it to boot! :D

      Unfortunately I don't have any experience in programming & Python. I have no interest in it what so ever.

    Do you have any regrets about doing CIMA instead of ACCA?

    • @CRAIGO10
      @CRAIGO10  2 года назад +1

      Sometime I wish I could sign off accounts for added flexibility, but in reality I have no interest in it and therefore no regrets really, no.

    Hello Craigo! I'm currently a CIMA student. I'm passionate in management Accounting rather than Finance Accounting so what about the higher study path I can choose after completing CIMA. Is it like to do Masters in Management Accounting or MBA 🤔 I just want some clarification..

    • @CRAIGO10
      @CRAIGO10  2 года назад +1

      Different countries have different approaches, here in the UK Masters are a waste of time. Get your CIMA/ACA/ACCA, and then utilise it and gain practical experience you need to progress. I've never understood peoples obsession to go to university, an expensive hobby with minimal benefits IMHO.
