    A bottle cap remover built into the side would be another useful addition 🙂

    Very cool. Adding a "you will need" list in description or as part of video would be a good add.

    Do have to say that is damned unique.
    I like it ..... Maybe not so much for drinks but to be able to hide stuff. Have to make sure no water gets in. Have to make sure the grass in the cap doesn't die. But cool as sh!t. :)

    Rather like what we used to do whilst building houses, putting large soft drinks bottles down the 4 inch pipes below the floor slab, kept it cold on the hottest days.

    Im in central Florida USA where the soil is very sandy. I'm building an 8x8 insulated shack under heavy trees and over a sand floor. Under my bed a 5' deep hole with a shallow well and some steel posts another 8' further into the colder ground. My plan is to run a well pump once to fill the hole with well water every night when the sun sets. The water will quickly seep into the ground and keep the hole wet all night. Enclose under the bed with in and out holes. A low watt usb fan will push room air under the bed , an exit hole on the other side let air out near my face when I sleep. My hope is that is drop temps a modest 5F , at night ideally from 80F to 75F in the summer. Not sure if it will work?? Bard AI seems to think so. LOL. I suspect it will in that I know the soil is very cool there at night in the summer. Also I often sleep in my van and dry my towel and clothing with an overhead fan, the wet clothing does help to cool the van creating swamp cooler of sorts and killing two birds with one stone as my clothing is always dry in the morning.

      One year later, how is it going with your project mate?

    • @12vLife
      @12vLife 4 дня назад

      I cleared a driveway and patch where I've slept in my van over 100 times. . Used wire, vines and thorny plants to secure a very natural perimeter. It was very easy to drill a shallow well. I've not built a structure, but do have a 6' hole in the shade on the lot that is marketable cooler, I really think very sandy soil makes a big difference as the cooler earth seems to vent up at night (a phenomenon know as radiative cooling) I do not doubt this will work, but have not fully tested it. Keep in mind it would only need to work about 4 months out of the year in mid-Florida June-Sept. Recently I upgraded the house power in my van and now have an air conditioning I can run overnight so the urgency for this is off, but I still want to confirm this. My suggestion is you look for land in the middle of the state on higher elevation (150-250') and on sandy soil with plenty of tree cover. Maybe van camp in August near by before you buy.
