Thank you! I just installed the upgrade kit 2 and I'm so new to my new Dream 2 that without viewing this video, I wasn't quite certain what was "new" and what was already on the machine. Very very helpful!
Your tutorials are awesome! I think we are at the point where a lot of users have purchased their machines second hand and need help. I got mine through Brother because of a family hook up and it did not come with training. NEVER AGAIN! But, your tutorials are very helpful and I wish you would do more even though I know the DM2 is older now and not sold anymore. No one seems to care about it anymore which shocks me. How is a $6,000 machine (and up) no longer supported? It seems crazy to me.
Thanks Julie, I'm in Australia & our upgrade will be released this month hopefully so, it's interesting to see what to expect. Just one suggestion if I may, you're speaking very softly & it's a bit difficult to hear you perhaps you can talk a little louder. Thanks again
Hi Julie, I have watch this video of yours from Oct. 2017 several times and was very excited about the new designs and new features that came with it, so I purchased it to install on my brother dream machine 2, I recently updated to version 3.10, but that didn't change anything on my machine. I purchased the premium pack2, thinking I would get the new designs that you got with your software, is this the same software package that you upgraded your machine with. Right away I noticed the designs on the back of the package was the designs I already have on my machine, I didn't want to go any further with the installation incase I have to send it back. Would you please show me a picture of the package that you purchased, so I can see if it is the same software, I'm sorry to be so long with this email, but I don't know what else to do, thank you for your time.
Thanks Julie. Do you have a link to print out the upgrade manual and designs? I found Babylock's but cannot find the link for Brother. There were two additional enhancements added to sewing. The pivot function will now remain engaged if the machine is turned off, a few more functions were added to the foot controller and the presser foot height and pivot foot height can be increased. There was also a embroidery stitch simulator. Being able to lower my presser foot with the foot pedal is a big win as a quilter and sewer. This function exists in other top of line machines. Now of Brother would add the ability combine machine stitches into a singular design instead of individual stitches, create wreaths and designs on path I would be thrilled! The new embroidery designs and fonts are very nice.
Hey Terry, Here is a link... for whatever reason the download of the PDF from Brother is not very clear...hopefully they will upload another PDF: download.brother.com/pub/com/phc_pcs_oneclickupdate/frm/xvkit2/ksab/OperationManual_EN.pdf
Here is a link for the manual- it also has the designs listed download.brother.com/pub/com/phc_pcs_oneclickupdate/frm/xvkit2/ksab/EmbroideryDesignGuide.pdf
Hey Janet, there are only two upgrades...if you go the button at the top of your machine screen where to pieces of paper icon is, you can scroll to page six and if you have purchased both upgrades the screen will say Kit 1 and Kit 2. As for updates which are free, you would look at the bottom of the same screen on page 6 and it will say what version you have updated to...mine currently says 3.02...hope this helps
Except that this machine has a computer as part of it's base for it's various features. Just like any respectable computer software and hardware company, Brother continue to focus on making our machines even better with updates and upgrades rather than making it obsolete. Updates generally fix any software glitches or bugs and are always free, but Upgrades are enhancements (designs, more features, larger hoops, etc) to the machine. I'm thankful that Brother continues to spend time, money, and engineering making our machines even more wonderful instead of focusing on the next generation machine. In the meantime, let's continue to learn together.

A machine of that cost shouldn’t have any needs for updating!
