Mandeville is primed for city status, just one major thing missing, a port. It doesn’t have a seaport but it can get an airport. Maybe it they develop Vermamfield , that might suffice ; although it’s not in Mandeville , it’s close enough.
Vernamfield would be marketed as May Pen, that's the nearest city with a population of 80,000 residents in it. They could market it as May Pen-Mandeville
@@drivinginjamaica You're mistaken lol. The building has been at that spot since 1997. I've passed it almost every day for over 2 decades. Only thing they did in the late 2000's was the steps to look like they are now and more ATMs.
Mandeville certainly should be given city-status...I don't know y the government is slow slow in designating more larger towns as cities. Towns such as Mandeville, May Pen n Ocho Rios should have already be given this status. These are the largest towns behind the KMA n Montego Bay
