This is a great combo! My daughter loves the Orange Marmalade but I had been sitting on the Jello shot for a while. Tried it once with their Rice Pudding leave-in and did not like it. Then just this weekend decided to try it with UFD and viola. The way my fingers just glide through is amazing. My hair is super defined and I have movement.
Fabulous work on your hair and a very well in formed and thorough evaluation; I’ll be looking out for these products in the UK. I also wanted to add you could voice audio book, you tone is very relaxing.

Curly Magic is truly magic🤣 I’ve been using UFD w I Create Hold and love the results but I do get flaking…just ordered Jello Shot to see what happens. Your hair looks beautiful and I LOVE how patience and attentive you are with your hair. Like an artist💕
Hey Jos! I bet you're going to love the UFD+Jello Shot combo. I am curious to know if your application with UFD and ICH is incorporating too much ICH? How many pumps do you typically use of ICH?
@@EmbraceNaturalBeauty so I use about two pumps on the sections I deem as my “low porosity” sections. Thats in the back of my head. Maybe I need to fall back to one pump? ICH is a good enough holding gel, and my hair isn’t that long, only about shoulder length when wet.
@@josryder7841 That's too much ICH. It will turn into a brick using that much. Two pumps is enough for most heads of hair. Most times even one pump. Someone with high density long hair may be okay with one pump per section if the hair is split into quarters.
LOVELY! Your tips have helped me master my WnG! I love how just changing product or technique can make such a dramatic difference in my final looks! Definitely trying EcoSlay when I run out of gel!

Beautiful result! I already use the curly magic but I use it with I create hold with a little bit of papaya slip. I just ordered the Jell-O shot because of the great reviews. I am wondering if my sleep routine is causing this.
Thank so much for this video. It so helpful to view the application process and styling combinations. Well noted!! I currently did a second big chop but still find this valuable. I have been using the jelly shot for my hair and do like the results. At this stage I do like the crunchiness. Still next time..
Hey Abena, I haven't seen you in quite some time. You look really good and your hair has just flourished. Good job. So, these jelly shots elongate the hair? I definitely need to try it because I never do a wash and go for fear of the shrinkage. I only do twist outs. Thanks for all the research you do for products.
Hi again Lizzie! It's been my pleasure to share. Yes, Jello shot can give you a great hold and potentially elongate your curls if you do not go to heavy with the application. Going heavy will yield the opposite effect, tighter/shorter curls.
Do you prefer the UFD Jello Shot combo or UFD I create hold combo? Hold (not ICV). I like Jello Shot but it was way to stiff for me. No movement at all. Going to try again with much less product. Thanks for the demo.
I always enjoy watching your videos! I never do wash and gos because I get so many single stand knots on that style because my hair is very tightly curled. Do you have any tips for avoiding single stand knots in a wash and go for tightly curled low porosity hair? Thank you so much 💐
Hi Joy! I achieve wash and go on plenty of clients with tightly coiled low porosity hair. The single strand knots most likely occur because of the condition of the ends of your. If they are thinned out and split they are more likely to cause tangles and knots.
thanks for sharing! i used to use ufd curly magic + Jello shot & loved the hold.. however, I found the gel required a lot of smoothing and additional product to smooth down frizz. It didn’t “smooth” out my hair as well as other gels I’ve used. Not sure if this was just user error. I may revisit this product because I truly did love the hold & the way my hair evolved over the week with this product combo!
Your hair looks beautiful. Can you help me clear up something? What's the difference between the ecoslay gel and the eco styler gel... are they from the same family/company... did the eco styler come out with a better gel (ecoslay)? Thanks 🙂
Your curls are still beautiful and long. Wow, I never try the Jello Shot. I do love the UFD Curly Magic. I'm going to have to try that one. Great video. Thank you
Not single strand but I did experience a knot at the end of a curl while styling the 3rd washngo with this product. I recently shared a portion of that video on my Instragram/Facebook Stories hoping it would be of help to others.

TYTYTY for this vid!!!! I needed YOUR input, so now I’m excited!
Hey darling! I am so happy to hear this video sounds like it came right on time for you. I would love to hear about your results from your most recent wash day using this combo.
@@EmbraceNaturalBeauty hijacking hubs once again to update & ask a Q. I tried the combo, &&&& NO FLAKES, w/excellent definition. I am on day 3 & it’s = in looks to d1. Now since I was heavy handed w/UFun’s bc I felt it wasn’t “laid” enough, could that be bc I didn’t let ANY time lapse between applying that & the JShot? I’m thinking that the way you apply UFun to your whole head THEN after do the JShot application may be a key point I missed. Thoughts? BC I will force myself to wash this perfection in a few more days & it would help to know I can make my outcome a less “producty” feeling. It’s not bad, but I’d prefer it less.
Nine days and your hair still looked beautiful! During your application process, it looks like you don't have sopping wet hair as I see with other BGC stylists. Do you have clients whose scalps are irritated by UFD?
Hey Joy, thank you! My hair is soaking wet since I just rinsed conditioner out. The difference is there is no need for me to add additional water after applying Curly Magic to my hair. It's pretty common when the surface texture of the hair is smooth, also referred to as "silky" If you add more water hair like mine, the water and the product splash to the floor. It's such a waste. I recall one client who did not like the feel of UFD on her scalp initially but eventually she actually loved it. However, there are people who experience irritation because of some ingredient they have a reaction. If you are experiencing an irritation you would do well to research the ingredients to determine what you are reacting to.
Greetings Abena, I absolutely love wash n go’s, however; I noticed that my ends take a beating when I get my quarterly trims. I usually allow my hair to air dry as I hate that crunchy feeling I get when I sit under the dryer. How can I retain my length? Do you offer consultations?
When you say beating, what are you referring to? I hadn't got my ends trimmed in over a year (I big chopped post quarentine last year in May 2020) and I JUST went to a stylist last month. I did wash n gos the entire year after I big chopped. The stylist actually said my ends were fine. I went THINKING that something was wrong with them. I did have some breakage because of over bleaching and had to get a corrective cut but she said my ends were actually in tip top shape. Keep in mind that blunt ends doesn't necessarily mean healthy ends.
Hi Ebony, I do virtual consultations. My information in the description box. Wearing a wash and go as the go to hair style can be a wonderful way to retain length. There are most likely other factors contributing to the condition of your ends that lead to the cuts you have been getting in order to maintain your hair.
@@braelynnblue I’m saying all the inches had grown within the quarter were being cut off, keeping me at the same length. I recently had my cos teacher cut out all of the damage that was there but now I’m scared to go back to the hair style I love.

What has your experience been with styling the wash and go? You may be surprised at the outcome if you had it done by a tight curl specialist who can show you what your hair is capable of when done using salon quality products during a hydrate and define service.
@@EmbraceNaturalBeauty my hair doesn't fall as loose as yours, so I don't kno if the longated method would work for me, but I like to compensate that with volume. But my hair needs good elasticity . I don't like puddings because they weigh my hair down and they are crazy expensive. I think for me, like you, gels do work better, but I need some kind of light' leave in to eliminate the hardness. Also I have mostly 3c with some right side 3b and have always worn my hair in a round cut for the big' look, so learning how to do each section takes a learning curve with different texture and length.
@@eagleeyegordon9368 Actually, so many of us wearing our hair in it's natural state have a variety of textures to deal with. As I have mentioned throughout my video demonstrations, the crown and hairline are where I experience most challenges, they require additional attention. And that is the case with many of my clients as well. Regarding the number and letter system you referenced (3C, 3B) it has no bearing on how well your hair responds to styling products.
