- Hey hey loves! Im BACK!!! I didn't intend to disappear last week but your girl has been fighting off a nasty sinus infection and needed to rest. Nevertheless, I'm back atcha with a review that I've been dying to post. Today we're talking all things Ecoslay Jello Shot gel for rebellious curls. This is one of her most recent releases focusing on taming the unruliest of curls without sacrificing quality and moisture. This review is definitely the perfect example of why patience and the willingness to play is important when you're a natural at any step in your journey. I love the Jello Shot by Ecoslay. It gives you THE MOST defined curls. Okay so the first time I used it I used half the container. It went on well but like you I felt like it wasn’t taking in some areas. So I added more. The results were beautiful BUT when I say it was SUPER hard and crispy. The roots could not be moved or I probably would have lost some hair. It lasted forever though. It looked similar to your first wash and go you showed us. Even though it was hard I loved how my hair looked. I tried it again with a different leave in, still looked good but just a bit stiff at the roots still for me. I used it up and purchased another one. I’m going to try it with my Curlessence Moisturizing Leave In Conditioner because I don’t know of any other leave in that is as moisturizing as this. The first time I used the leave in my hair was Super moist to the point I thought I had moisture overload. I may try it next week. I just did my hair yesterday so. I tried a new combo. I started combining gels. I tried Adwoa beauty’s baomint moisturizing curl defining gel (I didn’t like it with their leave in) with my Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic and I used the moisturizer by Naturall Club. It was Perfect. Actually the picture of me here that you see is this wash and go. Didn’t use much of either but my hair is moist, bouncy, defined and shiny. Definitely a new staple. I just might try the adwoa gel with the Jello Shot, it has lots of moisture probably why I didn’t like it by itself. I needed some hold. I enjoyed watching this video because I wanted to see how you used the Jello Shot. Your hair was Beautiful as usual. ❤️

I really enjoyed this gel when I tried it myself, but it definitely has some weight! My curls have never dried so elongated before. Loved the application and shine 💕

I love Gello Shot! I got a 6 day wash n’ go using the Banana Cream Deep Conditioner as a leave in with Gello Shot.
I also use it as an edge controller. It is so bomb!
How do you feel about the banana dc as a leave in? It's really expensive so I'm still on the fence about purchasing

I’m happy with my purchase. I got the bundle with the Banana Deep Conditioner, Gello Shot and the shampoo. I also got the travel kit so I could try the marmalade flaxseed gel which is also bomb!

@@Chin715 no, I did spritz my hair with water during application which may have helped keep it from flaking.
@@LadyA8788 Okay, thanks! Also, when you use the Banana Cream as a DC and leave in, do you just rinse and leave some in or rinse completely then add more before you add the gel?

the 1st style does still look wet and definitely not 3 days old. i like the results - those curls will last for dayzzz and dayzzz.
the 2nd style does look completely different - more volume, more fluff. i like this one too.
this gel is sweat-proof, frizz-proof, rain-proof ... may add this to my #BF2020 list. tfs 👍😁👍

I want to try this product! I’m sad I missed the sale in the fall. It will be on my radar for Black Friday! I get annoyed when brands have sales during working hours like wtf.. do that sale in the evening when a girl isnt at work lol. This gave your hair that wet look. I like it! Ecoslay is bae 🥰 I love her orange marmalade and banana dc. I paired the jello shot with Camille rose honey hydrate and I didn’t love that combo at all. I used way too much leave in lol I’ll be pulling this out next wash day for sure. I’m thinking of pairing it with CR coconut water leave in and maybe her style setter 🤔

My hair likes to find each other as well and wrap around each other. I used to make this joke that "my hair is alive" in the literal sense. Its crazy. And you are right it can give way to matting. Unlike yours, my hair is not fine and its dense though. I like the first look for myself. Sometimes I get a little concerned when there is any indication of even the probability of frizz so I actually see the flatness and the drop curl as a plus. It just means that I will get a little more wear out of my hair before it finds, what I would call...that middle ground. I'm going to find that Frizz Wiz and try your first combination and then see if running though my hair with a little oil after it dries would help with the "fatal attraction". I say "see" because sometimes the oil breaks the cast. The 2nd way you have your hair is what I usually get and depending on what product got me there...it would mostly likely swell. As for the hair wrapping around itself. Thank you. I don't hear people talk about that.
Hey lady!! Great video and review! I always appreciate all of your advice on techniques and application.. I am still having issues with Orange Marmalade this summer with hard hold... So I will try a serum based leave in with the gel I have and see if that will work for me.. Your hair looked great to me the entire video but I definitely understand needing the volume and movement 🙌.. Praying that you are feeling better soon!! Thank you for sharing!!

Love the Jello shot 💕 however I was having a hard time finding a leave in that pairs well with this gel and look at God your video popped up!! I’m also that type of person that doesn’t give up on products and try and try again. Loved the video will be trying similar leave ins now that I have an idea what pairs well with it. I loved this product when I first got it but after you store it in the refrigerator (per the label instructions) the consistency changed 🤦🏾♀️. Now it balls and crumbles because it's cold...I even tried to sit it out 1 day ahead to get it room temp.
I’ll admit this is the one product I have from them that I haven’t stored in the fridge. I just keep it in my closet where it’s cool and dry. It’s held up well and I’m almost through with the product.

If u use a gel a combo with better hold like this, I guarantee it hair will grow 2×as fast.flat hair grows bigger over time. Giving u 1 full week of a style and less manipulation and allows the scalp to make it's own oils
Hey thanks for your review and I watch other curries with this product. I'm convinced I don't mind trying organic hair products;however, I'm looking for a more successful wash n go with my high porosity hair.
For me i recommend putting gel all over my hair with canile rose coconut leavin, putting twist in my hair, dry hair underneath hairdryer , than take it out
What if u added tiny clips at the roots after u put the gel on, so that your hair would dry with the volume where u wanted? Make sure the clips u use aren’t going to get stuck in there!!

How do you feel about the must be magic? It was the first full line I tried from them. Wasn’t impressed at first try. Was also aggravated that I tried to order like 3 or 4 of the other lines I had been wanting for a while directly from them for the first time and they basically accused me of placing fraudulent orders. Left a terrible first impression with the brand, especially behind trying this product which wasn’t anything to write home about.

Girl I love this gel but I tried it several times and it kept flaking on me. I tried it with KC knot today and then I tried it again with evoo and water - nothing else, and it had clear flakes. What am I doing wrong girly? Halp!
