- DIS-COVER Episode 55. A band called 'Death'. As band names go this one is to the point! Ha ha! But what will DEATH sound like? You'll have to join me for half an hour and find out! What have you got better to do for the next thirty minutes? Seriously!!! Get a beer and reach for your ear plugs!!! :-) ** This video was initially subject to a worldwide block. I had to remove 'choke on it'. A great shame... but perhaps the block will be lifted one day and you'll get to see the whole video? Who knows? ** #deathmetal #metal #heavymetal
Literally one of the best musicians ever Chuck Schuldiner. This is music history ladies and gentlemen.
You still have Trey Azagthoth. Yes Chuck is elite but, lets not get nostalgic.
@@morbidxoneq2013 yes but Chuck is Death so everything else is almost pointless hehe
@@LawfullBill lies
@@craigharrelson2908 Chuck is death tbh Since he’s the only member to never leave the band
@@morbidxoneq2013 irrelevant
Pestilence - Consuming impulse. Very groovy/brutal/melodic. I think you might dig it a lot.
I have that album on t-shirt
You're gonna have to do more Death videos! They're one of my all time favourites, each album progresses from the previous and each have their own identity, none are the same. Later albums sound nothing like this one and have much more of a technical and progressive element. Such a great band and highly influential.
This album got me into Death Metal! I was 15 when I saw for first time on national tv that Combat tour of Death and other bands and I got completely hooked up. The cover...pink never looked so damn macabre.
You're right... there's something pretty cool about the bright pink cover!
Same except for in a diff decade :(
SAME🔥🔥🔥
Same here I listened to pull the plug an it blew me away now I have 4 of deaths albums so far and have started listening to morbid angel deicide possessed an a few others happy to say chucks got me hooked on early death metal keep finding new albums every day an keep falling more In love with this absolutely brutal music 🤘🤘🤘
Death my favorite death metal band. Great job man
Americans should feel so proud to have had a Death Metal band like "Death" one of the pioneers in the genre.
Best thing to come out of that country
These early Death albums had pretty simple drums, especially if you compare them to Pete Sandoval. But if you listen to their album Human or any afterwards you will hear some brilliant drumming.
This is the perfect mix of cringe and being funny, 10/10 reaction!
Do more death albums man
Yeah, I need to do this!
@@mercurialno6 Yes, man! Please
buy The Sound Of Perseverance, after listening that album you'll get drunk with it. And you'll cry
with Voice Of The Soul. Trust me, been there.
When you're ready again, buy SYMBOLIC!!
After that, INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS!
After that SCREAM BLOODY GORE!!
After that SPIRITUAL HEALING!!
After that HUMAN!!
After that thank you very much,
blessed your soul \m/
@@mercurialno6 bump :) react to the album symbolic. its arguably deaths best album
Glad you liked this classic, it is of course more primitive and simple than the Morbid Angel albums you've heard but it has a rawness that not many other albums can match.
I think you'd love their 1991 album "Human" as they got a new drummer Sean Reinert and he is fucking insane. I love Sandoval but as for creativity I don' think Sean will ever be beat in Death Metal. You'll love his jazz fusion esque fills :D
Man, you need to do more Death albums
Yes. I probably do.
"Best death metal album". Interesting concept, Seis.
I remember when this came out. I had mates into a lot of this and I can listen to some (don't like the vocals, mind). And compared to much of the more recent stuff, it is quite melodic.
This album is honestly a really 'nice' listen! Ha ha!
Hahahaha.. Love your facial expressions whilst air drumming. What a pisser... Lol. Leprosy is what got me into Death metal. My favourite band and fav album. Love Chuck..RIP.
One of the greatest albums ever. Any type of music, from any time. Classic.
Heads up, Sepultura were formed in 1984. And Chuck and Max were pen pals.
I think it is time for Pestilence - Consuming impulse or a bit more raw : Autopsy - Severed survival
Testimony or consuminG!!
Fuckin awesome to see you doing a Death video man. Haven't heard this one for a while!
One of my favorite metal bands ever
This was a blast to watch. More beer infused dis-covers
Was this a beer'd up video? Ha ha! I'm a bit straighter at the moment... but I'm not sure it will necessarily hinder my enthusiasm!
first mate their music in 1998 and it was absolutely new discovery for me. Symbolic 1995 album is the best metal album ever in my opinion. enjoyed your reaction :)
I need to listen to more Death!
Slow . . . sure. Death elevated music to another level. Agressive but thoughtful compositions.
The only DEATH Metal Band where u give all songs in playlist and u never skip one song. For me is "Symbolic" and "The Sound of Perseverance" the best Albums from DEATH or DM but the other not really worse than the two mentioned, different but not worse. There's a reason why an entire genre is named after a band, just a thought.
if you guys love leprosy also check out this band LEBBRA-Leprosy Returns
🤣Cool! Chuck rules eternally...cheers!
What an interesting channel I've stumbled apon. Pretty strange, but I dig it. Great album choice, I think you should listen to the album by Anthrax "Among the Living"
Yeah, the only Anthrax album I ever owned was Persistence of Time so that would be a good shout! Thanks! :-)
Oh? Then you're in for a treat, you're welcome
Legendary...
Yaaaaaaaaaaaa dude you should check out The Strokes - Comedown Machine which has aged really well or The Last Shadow Puppets - Everything You've Come to Expect or some solo George Harrison stuff like Gone Troppo.
Appreciate your reviews, helps explore new musical tastes and all
Thanks for this, Death rules
If you like leprosy I would highly suggest to albums from beyond by Massacre and Pestilence consuming impulse
Would love to see more Death albums on the channel!
My name is Death, but my friends call me Chuck.
Great album, great video! Keep it up mate!
Leprosy is one of my favorite albums.
I am a die hard Death fan
Same!
I like the air drumming how you just smash. The snare is so insane sounding.
That's some wicked tunes, but what we ALL should be doing is thanking God for Jim Sterling.
;-)
Love this album! It is Chuck with Massacre!
You should do a reaction to 'Venom - Black Metal' album. That would be fun.
THIS CHANNEL IS FKFJFING AWESOME
Excellent as always mercurial
One of the best???
Excuse me?
THE BEST.
PERIOD.
Awesome as usual!
I strongly recommend listening to Protomartyr, namely The Agent Intellect or Relatives in Descent, but all their stuff is great, to be honest.
If you want to hear whammy bar madness. Massacre 'From Beyond' Rick Rozz!
Hey that's a Jim Sterling t-shirt. Well done sir!
death metal is the only thing ive yet to be able to fully listen to, ILL TRY MY VERY HARDEST TO GET THROUGH THIS.
actually, i was totally fine. this is just really good, i don't know what to say.
Death even though they are given the accolade of the best death metal band but it still feels like they're not given enough credit
I need to sit down with a beer in the sunshine one day and listen to some more of this band!
Do a yes album
GEtting a Leprosy t-shirt on friday :D
i love the fact you are not trying to act like the philosopher(yes, it is a pun) but instead you are being yourself and not trying to seem smarter than you really are.
huge respect my man!
One of the og death metal bands that actually gave a shit about the quality of their work. Later groups played like crap and hid it behind the genre of death metal. Chuck was a musical genius. He just wanted to make great music. Fame and fortune were irrelevant to him.
And he was never actually as famous and rich as he should have been...
Cool! I’ve been wanting to get into Death. NICEEEE!!!
Death metal rules!!!!!!!!!!!
If you didn’t watch the video yet just skip to this part real quick LOL 6:41
The way the room looks is tripping me out
Blimey. In a good or bad way?
The Mercurial Number Six well what did you do? Lol everything’s like switched around! I was just used to the old way it looked
Or is it just a different camera angle?
I do like to switch the camera angle... but really I'm still attempting to get the perfect 'look'. Still some way off... but I'm getting there incrementally!
Hey! I know I'm a bit late but I'm still waiting for you to review Death From Above's first album You're A Woman I'm A Machine. I'm sure you will like it.
Oooooo haha nice reaction dude. react to The Strokes - "Is this it" album to the next time please!!! Greetings from tabasco, México ☺
Great album
3:49 10:56 17:49 20:35 \m/
You have to review ORB's album Naturality. It sounds like a mix between Syd Barret and King Gizzard. There even on King Gizzards Label so give there album a look.
best death album hands down
Well... alongside Scream Bloody Gore, Spiritual Healing, Human, Individual Thought Patterns, Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance
Awesome album. And this is NOT thrash metal...this IS DEATH metal. :). How about Deicide - Deicide (LP) . Napalm Death- Mass Appeal Madness (EP) and Brutal Truth -Extreme conditions demand extreme responses (LP)?
I have all 7 Death albums man
Hail Chuck!
Please review STRFKR´s Being No one Going Nowhere. You are the best!
9:13 1988 in sepultura time means between the third anf fourth album [ Schizophrenia (1987) / Beneath the Remains (1989) ]. Oh you ment to say before sepultura you're familiar with, right? As far as I remeber you're most familiar with Chaos AD => years and years means 5 years.
I'll have to listen to this without your waffle over it. I know Death's Symbolic quite well and I heard Spiritual healing several times, but this was unknown to me.
I only ever owned Chaos AD.
I don't trust you, I've seen you listening to other albums :D
Ha ha! Yeah, I suppose! I did own a Beatles album once!
Bill Andrews in my opinion was their worst drummer, not bad, but definitely my least favourite. I prefer the later drummers and even Chris Reifert. It's interesting you mentioned Iron Maiden because one of the things I love about this band is their ability to play really heavy but also maintain a melodic element. I also think Chuck's vocal delivery is not only more coherent but also a lot more emotive than most other cookie monster vocalists. Btw, I'm getting to see Maiden on the 10th of this month \m/ Shame you can't go
He is a pretty basic drummer, but man the drum production is so powerful on this album, that snare!
Well, he isn't as good as Gene Hoglan or Pete Sandoval, but I enjoy the drumming on Leprosy and Spiritual Healing.
I'm not a drummer but I always loved the drumming in Leprosy
Love this album. Great video as always. My favorite death metal release of this year would have to be Skeletal Remains new one or Extremity - Coffin Birth. Also, if you want some straight DEATH worship check out GRUESOME! :) thanks mercurial!
It's 6 AM where I am. I'll get a Coffee! Good Day!
Would love to hear your thoughts on the new Arctic Monkeys record. It's been a mixed response. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. I think you'd pick out the beauty in it I've found
YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT THEIR INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS OR HUMAN ALBUM TOO MY MAN! caps but not gonna type this again
Hey, I noticed your Yamaha THR amp in the background, what do you think of it? I've been making love to mine for about five years now.
Great little amp!
My dad gave me his original tape form wen he was a kid and played tell it wore. Out
Wow, a Sterling shirt!
Ok, now you need to do a Megadeth - Rust in Peace DIS-COVER... But would it really be a DIS-COVER? You've clearly already heard it :\
you know that you still gotta do willoughbys beach by king gizzy and the lizzy wizzy right?
Vega Intl Night School by Neon Indian?
lol hopefully the kanye and travis fans can find their way here
quality video.
Cheers. :-)
DAAAMN THEY REALLY BLOCKED CHOKE ON IT?😡🤬
It's amazing it's not all blocked by now!
@@mercurialno6 Yeaa Im like, Choke On It is one of the best songs on the album and its blocked?🤣🤣Damn lmao
Nice Socks!
your whole video was funny 8)
You look like you're about to ask Peter Parker for his rent
You're mad bro
Listen to THE BETA BAND - THE THREE EP’S
*DUSTY* _waaaas_
Gorillaz in this channel please ( plastic beach )
The way you’re holding and handling the vinyl gives me headache
Not the channel for you. Move on.
@@mercurialno6 LOL
Why u hold this thing in your mouth when u not smoking lol
It's a status thing.
Listen to “Symbolic” and “sounds of perseverance” next please, I doubt this comment is ever gonna get seen though 😂 this vids pretty old and now you only do hip hop reactions
I see everything. Unfortunately there is almost zero audience for this kind of stuff. Even mainstream rock. I had to make a decision. Do I keep spending a week at a time making a video for a handful of people? The answer had to be 'no'. I suppose it comes down to the types of people who are fans of these bands. They just don't watch 'reaction' type stuff. Even I don't to be fair
But then I don't really like reaction videos!
Please review STRFKR´s Being No one Going Nowhere. You are the best!
