Would you comment on purchasing a used Minelab PI? Like a GP3000/3500 trying to get the best bang for my buck without getting a divorce. And your channel rocks, keep it up. And maybe one day see you in the field.
So, if it were me I`d try to find a used 4000 on up.. If the 3500 has a ground balance handle on it I would consider that one too. There are many of these machines just sitting in closets , and im sure you could find one somewhere. Keep in mind, Minelab wont service those older units though, so buyer beware.
Oh man thats a tough one. If you are looking for gold nuggets mostly , id say the GB2. Its gota learning curve but once your good with it , the GB2 is a much better gold finder. The best VLF for a beginner is the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 though. if you can save another 100 bucks , get the gold monster for sure

I do not know anything other than it is a very old machine. Tesoro is no longer in business. Buy a test nugget and see if it can hear it. If it does, take it detecting and ground balance as much as you can.
Hey boss I want to get into this hobby I'm looking to buy property in Arkansas mountains what would be the best metal detector for gold to buy to this day ?
Dear I want to buy such a gold detector.. really in our hills there is a lot of symbols but i haven't a detector..how much price it have,, I appreciate your way of working...good luck
I wish I would have put more though in to it before buying my GTI 2500 . Because I having my doubts of finding any going with that . While I was up there I didn't see a whole lot of black sand where I went to bedrock is nice but if it's no black sand I keep going.
I like hunting the bedrock and the benches. I would be curious as to what areas you qualify as a "bench" that is worth detecting. Maybe this could be demonstrated in videos. For me, I try to hit any flat area just above the primary wash. But I wonder about those higher benches, if you've had luck in the deserts. Stay safe out there, Adam. And thanks for the videos.
Beats me, as I have never used one, but the gold bug I does find small gold from what I understand. It may not handle ground as well or discriminate as well as the GBII too
I love my Fisher gold bug 2. found a lot of gold with it, as it finds small shallow gold., But has a bigger learning curve than the superior minlab gold monster 1000. The choice is yours.
I have a toroso lobo that will not find small gold like the gold monster, a friend of mine went thru my dry washer tailings with the gold monster and found two pickers, I didn’t think I was loosing any gold, wrong
There are several reasons gold can be lost over the riffles in a dry washer. Fortunately, they are all resolvable. Unless its the design of the Dry Washer itself
Is the bench between the bedrock something you would bring the drywasher out for to clean that off? Or just leave it there and see if it traps more nuggets after the next wash?
Pursistance can really pay off,you proved it hands down. When done in the arrollo ,do you go up the banks onto the slope of the ravine? Just asking being a newby here.David out
Yes but the goal in new gullies is to find gold in the wash first , then you can branch out looking elsewhere...good to keep an open mind while prospecting
Nice info. Gold bug was the early champ but lots of GM1000 in the Az videos. Does the test nugget help on the VLS as well? Maybe helps teach the GM1000 what gold is compared to the ground you hunt. Or at least trains the human to hear the difference. Good tips.
I love my gold bug for a variety of reasons over the GM1000. The GM1000 is a great machine though, and can handle mineralized ground better than the gold bug II, and its easier to use which ads to its popularity. Yes, a test nugget would benefit with both machines.
Two different type of detectors. One is for deeper gold, and one is for shallow little gold basically. Any serious nugget hunter should have one of each.
Sorry, I have never used it. My understanding is that its an all around type machine. My problem is with the signal noise that it makes. Very odd , and not overwhelmingly clear or crisp. Personal preference I guess
I`m not a tester of machines and I have never used that model. All I know is that it is a well rounded machine designed for metal detecting coin & relic , jewelry, and natural gold nuggets. If you are looking to get into nugget hunting specifically , go with a GPX6000 , or Gold Monster 1000 or maybe the New Fisher Gold Bug 2
Wish I would've grabbed the monster instead. I have the equinox 800, found a flat picker with it size of a pinky nail.. but other than that, a lot of exercise is all.
Nice Adam, inspired me once again to keep hunting and now that spring is looming around the next week and half! I agree 100% dont buy just a metal detector, but a known good one from a reputable dealer who will be able to answer your questions when you have them. Whites 24K is an incredible machine I have it and continue to use it as my primary machine alone with my MX7, it's a shame that whites tanked and didn't pump more video into the 24K, it just goes to show you how lack of marketing can tank a really good product. For you GB2 Owners don't give up on that machine, learn it! Its one of the best proven vlfs out there!

Hands down, the best detector to get into this hobby ( gold nuggets ) today is the Minelab Gold Monster 1000
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCK thank you have a blessed day
I own gold bug pro. I need something little more sensitive
When buying a VLF today for gold nuggets, nothing beats a Minelab Gold Monster 1000 or the Fisher Gold Bug 2
Still looking for Gold with my SDC 2300 on Roadrunners claims. :( its been sad
Believe me, I understand. Hunt the fringes of the claims. Try to go where others rarely do.
Thanks. :)
Right on, great job as always 👌👊
Thank you so much ! I wouldnt mind if it started warming up a bit
Adam,
Who makes those wide style picks? Thanks!
Howdy , actually they are custom made. Just a flat shovel welded to an old pick . Great for removing small amounts of overburden.
Great, thanks.
Dear I want to buy such a gold detector.. really in our hills there is a lot of symbols but i haven't a detector..how much price it have,, I appreciate your way of working...good luck
Find your nearest detector dealer and ask him
I wish I would have put more though in to it before buying my GTI 2500 . Because I having my doubts of finding any going with that . While I was up there I didn't see a whole lot of black sand where I went to bedrock is nice but if it's no black sand I keep going.
Sell it and get a Gold Monster 1000
Nice info. Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful! And thank you for watching
which brand metal detector you use???
MinelabGPX 5000, Fisher Gold Bug 2
getting it done fam. GOLD SQUAD OUT!!!
Thank you for tuning in ! I will keep that in mind for a future video, Benches are definitely great spots to detect .
That was a loud signal for such a small nuggie! Anyway great video and happy hunting!
Thats the power of a GPX 5000 .....Thanks again for watching!
got a gold monster. trying for tomorrow. traffic last weekend was down yo one lane on the 15N. miles of traffic. road construction. have a good day.
Hope you have some good luck ! Good choice on the detector!
I love the video and I learned something. Thank You / Subscribed 👍
Excellent, I really appreciate that!
Hello my name is Steve and I wanted to know if you still have the 40 acre claim for sale..
Steve, we have a 20 acre unpatented placer mine currently for sale in Kingman.

What is the difference between gold bug 1 and gold bug 2. I have the bug 1. I bought it before they merged with bounty hunter.
Beats me, as I have never used one, but the gold bug I does find small gold from what I understand. It may not handle ground as well or discriminate as well as the GBII too
Will the gold bug 2 work decant out there
I love my Fisher gold bug 2. found a lot of gold with it, as it finds small shallow gold., But has a bigger learning curve than the superior minlab gold monster 1000.
Great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it
Is the bench between the bedrock something you would bring the drywasher out for to clean that off? Or just leave it there and see if it traps more nuggets after the next wash?
Yes, it certainly could be a spot for a dry washer and a vacuum. If there was a huge flood , it would certainly leave more gold there.
What is a vlf??and A pLI ??
Two different type of detectors. One is for deeper gold, and one is for shallow little gold basically. Any serious nugget hunter should have one of each.
So where are you doing this hunting from for gold like are you Northern California or are you in Southern California or where
This spot is in Arizona
I really learn from your videos....thank you!! Do you have any thoughts about the Minelab Equinox 800 as my primary VLF machine for gold?
Sorry, I have never used it. My understanding is that its an all around type machine. My problem is with the signal noise that it makes. Very odd , and not overwhelmingly clear or crisp. Personal preference I guess
Tidy vid
Thanks for sharing
Cool ! Thank you for tuning in , I appreciate it
Equinox 800, what's your take on it?
Yes ! Spring is around the corner, cant wait as it snowed in northern AZ yesterday. Thank you for your input and best wishes for a great nugget year.
My dad has the minelab sdc 2300 and we've found a few last year
Awesome! Thanks for tuning in 👍
How much could you get from that nugget? And what metal detector do you have?
not much money ....I use a GPX 5000
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCKDANG YOU PAID $4,000 FOR THAT?
@@IBRAKEFORBEDROCKdo you think you have got your money back from using that metal detector?
@@BRAWLER_BUSTER Most certainly
@@BRAWLER_BUSTER Sorry , I looked at the video and that detector is the Fisher gold Bug 2 ......about an 800.00 detector. my other one is a GPX5000
