Truly an awesome piece. It's my new HBO show without a doubt. The cast is fantastic. Can we not talk about how Amy Manson is absolutely slaying this part as Maladie? I didn't think she was this good. I can't believe she was Merida in Once Upon a time! Lol. The level of acting has really evolved from her younger years and I'm loving it. It's Penny Dreadful meets Xmen, great work HBO!
The Nevers isn't X-MEN in Victorian society, because mutants are a metaphor for genetic racism in America. The Nevers is about socioeconomic class power dynamics in a much more rigidly stratified social hierarchy at the height of the British Empire.
I binged the whole season on Saturday, then watched it all again on Sunday. I never rewatch shows but this one called for it. I neeeeeed to know when Season 2 will be out!
The real might be how everyone's difference is an essential contribution to the whole. And it should be education's role to grow that difference towards the role where it shines the most.
Because Victorian society is very proper. Polite society thinks they should have _never_ happened. It's not unusual for society to call a group something different than what the group calls itself.
The remaining episodes after 6th episode haven't been filmed yet and they expanded the season from 10 to 12, so some are still being written. The first 6 have a full narrative arc, so the second will be released later as a mini-season 1.5
Opening scene intended dialogue: Smart sassy woman fixes water pump with clothes peg and pumps her water. Reality: Female actress uses clothes peg to repair pump and then proceeds to make the job 10 times harder by pumping water holding the middle of the pump arm. No surprise Archimedes was a man!
All men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, the wages for our sin is death. The Good news is that God so loved the world, that he sent his ONLY begotten son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. Whoever believes in their heart that Jesus died on the cross, rose again on the 3rd day and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, will be saved. God created us to have a relationship with him, only through Jesus can we be reunited with him.
Nick & Laura were happy with their experiences, & people from HBO have verified/claimed that nothing troublesome happened on the set of this show... I assume, if that's really true, it's due to him becoming older AND the fact that he was working for HBO, not Fox or WB, he had more time & budget, & there was much more care needed to be involved.
What ^^ they said. Plus Whedon stepped away from being much more than the show's creator after a couple of episodes due to burnout, I believe. The series is being primarily run by other people now.

What was wrong with Merida?
I like the show a lot. It has class conflict, feminism and peoples fear of those who are different. HBO always makes thought provoking shows.
All HBO create is a masterpiece and so perfect.
Season 8 GoT??
All HBO touches... 😉
basically the X-MEN in Victorian society
And?

@@sammiller6631 Oh Shush it, it's X-men in Victorian society.
@@afekasi79 Just saying something does not make it so. It's not X-men in Victorian society. I've given my reasons and you've given nothing.
@@sammiller6631 "Just saying something does not make it so"....exactly my friend.

It's the X-Men in victorian england. But why isn't this called "The Touched"?
Maybe the Nevers are the ones who gave them the powers
The nevers is the entity
Because they got 'touched' on set by Joss Whedon

We are yet to find out why this was called Nevers I think.
Love this series!
I hope we get season 2 😩
The second part of Season 1 is being filmed right now. There's no Joss Whedon any more though, I have high doubts about its quality now.
I'm in love with Ann Skelly 💕
She is beautiful
Looks cool, When is the DVD release date. 🤔
Round and round in circle and no outbound , nothing
So epic
When's the next season?!?!?
Very good
What is maladie's power or turn for that matter?
She gets stronger with pain.
I call these people supers
What about remaining episodes after 6th episode?

Amalia just goes to asylum
It was all downhill from the 1890s! 🤣🤣
Joss Whedon redeeming himself.
I don't think he ever needed redemption, he has always been great. So sorry to see him leave this show.
The 4400 Victorian women
When you coming in India 🤔😭

No biggie
Not much different what she was living in the past 10 years I would say

Joss whedon.....I wonder what horror stories may come from the set of this series...
People can change, Laura donnely said she had a wonderful experience working with whedon on the nevers

It stinks.
