Al B. Sure! and Kyle West went in on the beat for this song. Keyboard drums, keyboard bass, and just the overall keyboard programming of this beat was on point! This song's beat been stuck in my head since Spring 1991 when my mom took me to see Boyz n the Hood when I was in second grade.
The 90's were so beautiful. I was a little kid, but I remember. I would watch videos like this over at my grandma's house with all my cousins and just blast off to another world. A world I wanted to live in so badly! 😩
I'm startled when I see just how talented Tevin was/is. Nothing was too hard for him to do. He could sing, dance, etc. at such a young age. I think his talent exceed everyone expectations. I'm sorry we have missed seeing/hearing/enjoying him for so many years.
Such a jam that feels so good. If you were a kid at that time you know just exactly what I mean. How can a tune just make your whole body and mind feel like it's soaked in nostalgia and good feelings? I love it with all my Heart💪🙏
This era, the 90s, will never be surpassed. This video, and that movie cemented the aliveness, the humanity of my generation. When I listen to the current generation I’m blown away by their extreme lack of self-love and soul. The joy of being black is blatantly missing in the artistry today. It’s incredibly noticeable.
This was our jam in highschool. Omgoodness. Boyz n Tha Hood movie was our first taste of gangsta, and how hard was it to have Tevin singing and rapping on the soundtrack. Awww yeah! Only the 80's babies would understand..
I know that's how music videos from movie soundtracks work, but I love the shots of Boyz n the Hood and Tevin's video intercutting throughout this video.
Tevin Campbell in his prime was a STONE-COLD 🥶performer. When I was a kid and teenager (the early to late 1990s), his music was everywhere. Back in his prime, girls and grown women loved him 💋, R&B and pop music labels loved him or wanted to sign him, and etc.
I was 6 years old when this came out, and likely haven't heard it since around that time, but I remember every last note, lyric, and instrumental arrangement. The early 90s were a special time. And Might I add, I had absolutely no business watching this movie when I was a kid. Left quite an impression. 😖I can't think of a time when I was as stressed out as I was in that theater. 🤣
WHen the track was release the production work that Al B sure did was on point. The song makes you think where you were when the radio was starting playing it after the movie was released
This album came out about 7-8 months before I went to basic training. I snuck this tape, Pete Rock and CL Smooth's Mecca and the Soul Brother and Al B. Sure's Sexy Verses to basic training with me and my walkman. One of my drill sergeants finally busted me with it around week 7 of training. None of my platoon mates ratted. 💯loyalty 1992.
How fun. TC is an outstanding entertainer. I almost forgot about this song. Seeing this also reminded me the "6-degrees of separation" is true, someone in the vid makes my levels of separation from Tevin decrease by at least 4, perhaps 5 levels. Small world. Mr. Campbell's "Safer On The Ground" like everything else he does, is awesome.
Hi peoples. I was 17 when this came out. I am today's yrs old when I found out Tevin was only 2 yrs younger than me. I could've sworn he was like 12 or 13 at this time I only liked his music from bout 93-96
I always enjoyed music videos with scenes from movies; especially Boyz N The 'Hood is my favorite. Bright spot in a dark period of history. Love me some Chubb Rock. ...but Nia Long before she went under the knife though!

Chubb, Chubb with the man, with the plan Chubb Rock…! Overlooked MC. One of my favorite songs from TC.
Music was so fun back then way much better then today's Crap.
Such a jam that feels so good. If you were a kid at that time you know just exactly what I mean. How can a tune just make your whole body and mind feel like it's soaked in nostalgia and good feelings? I love it with all my Heart💪🙏

This song made me love the movie even more. Anything Tevin I was down for. In 91 I was 8. Already knew I was his number 1 fan.

I have never seen or heard of this song. I love this jam!!
It's September 2019 This song and video is still🔥🔥🔥🔥 HOT throwback 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was our jam in highschool. Omgoodness. Boyz n Tha Hood movie was our first taste of gangsta, and how hard was it to have Tevin singing and rapping on the soundtrack. Awww yeah! Only the 80's babies would understand..

CHUBB! a Rap KING! Eternally Positive
My favorite Tevin Campbell song, loved this from the movie.
Chubb Rock is one of the most underrated emcees in the history of hip hop. Damn he was nice on the mic.

The beat and chours is 🔥🔥
Used to LOVE this song! Makes me want to watch Boyz In Da Hood
STILL a dope ass joint! To this day, with one of Chubb Rocks killer verses. Just perfection.
I know that's how music videos from movie soundtracks work, but I love the shots of Boyz n the Hood and Tevin's video intercutting throughout this video.
It's what makes me love this song and the movie even more.
Rocking to this in September 2024. ❤ Tevin had bangers.

Still jamming to this in 2018😍💃💃
Amazing movie and one of my all-time favorite songs that always manages to stay fresh.
This is my favorite Tevin Campbell song! Awesome song and movie.

Rickey on Crenshaw with the old school Doritos bag😁
I’m ashamed to admit that I know people older than me who has never heard this song and I was every bit of 11/12 when this came out.....🤦🏾♀️
Another one of my favorite jams from Tevin. Good tune and good movie!
The music does something to my spirit when I hear it
THIS FASHION WAS A GOAT 🐐 ERA 😮😂
That's Shawnette Heard that danced with Janet for so many years. So cute
Thanks for that, I didn't know that. It was funny how she was playing all innocent at 0:44-0:47 and then she went in on the dance tip at 1:02-1:05.
WHen the track was release the production work that Al B sure did was on point. The song makes you think where you were when the radio was starting playing it after the movie was released
I just wanna know how many ppl are listening to how they stacked those vocals in the background...cause babbby they ate, the vocals are amazing 👏🏾
Such a bad ass jam, still in 2023
They can re release this over and over I won't get tired of it
This album came out about 7-8 months before I went to basic training. I snuck this tape, Pete Rock and CL Smooth's Mecca and the Soul Brother and Al B. Takes me back to the days of playing football for Crenshaw, the exact school as Ricky Baker in Boyz in the Hood. South Central born and raised
0:43 - 1.00 chords are way too fire! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
T.E.V.I.N. Al B., Kyle West and Chubb Rock. The Boys N the Hood soundtrack had hits.
Still listen to this everyday
Tevin was feeling himself in this 😄❤️
He was bad back then. Brother could sing, the females was in love with him, he had money, he was young, and etc.
Who's listening to this 2024 ❤️

💯✊🏿
