Into The Unknown - Jarrod Radnich - Live/Raw Reel

Created as we enter into our own "unknown" during this time of social distancing-with no film crew or production staff, no one but Jarrod and his iPhone. These informal performances are shot as a single, uncut take after just a day or two of practice (Jarrod normally memorizes a piece and practices for at least a week before a video shoot), and they are intended to give pianists what they have long been asking for-reference videos and more content... now! Jarrod brought a keyboard and his newly released Musicnotes sheet music into his soon-to-be finished recording studio being created in Joshua Tree, California. The new series, called the Live/Raw Reel, is created by Jarrod for his awesome fellow pianists, musician fans, and friends. These aren't intended to be polished performances, but from now on every new arrangement and piece of music will be part of the Live/Raw Reel with instructional videos coming soon!-And when the studio is finished, they will be performed on his grand piano! And the piano audio will be picked up live with mics. :-)

Jarrod's Virtuosic Piano Solo arrangement of "Into the Unknown", from Disney's FROZEN II, is a piece with Jazz overtones and some challenging passages-such as simultaneous melody/counterpoint in both hands, syncopation, and stylistic phrasing. It begins as a play between several tonalities before settling into the key of Eb Major and ultimately modulating to the key of C Major, and he performs it here at a general tempo of 112mm.

Quarantine and self isolation never sounded so good!
Since you're playing on a digital piano, I recommend recording the audio (or MIDI) directly from within the keyboard, and putting that audio over the video, instead of recording the audio with an iPhone from the speakers.
The end result will sound much better.

You can still properly record an unpolished and unedited performance :-) It's not at all a lot of work, and the end result sounds so much better.
