2020 has been by far the hardest year for many, including myself. I lost my Dad of 76 years to COVID just before my daughter's birthday, and then tragedy struck again and I lost my oldest daughter who was in a car accident. I drank to the point beyond all recognition and at times, didn't even want to continue the rest of the year with my own life. But in times like this, I had family who pulled me through the mires, a child at home who needed her dad, a loving girlfriend who stood by and didn't judge, and with music like this, it just resonates beauty in a imperfect world. I needed to hear something beautiful and thank you Jarrod for bringing some inspiration and hope to our lives. Please continue 2021 with more of your music. I wish you all a safe, healthy and memory-filled 2021!

I read your comment, and there is an incommunicable, almost sacred synergy between an artist and those who embrace that which he creates. I wanted you to know that I, too, have had many dark days with the unimaginable trials of life that have been thrown my way. Jarrod, I’m a mom of 5 young boys and all of them play the piano... I just want to thank you for being their musical role model, motivating my boys to countless hours of piano practicing over the years. My 14 year old started playing “Pirates” when he was 12, but his little hands couldn’t handle the leaps and octaves, but now almost 15 he’s nailing it! He looks up to you SO MUCH!! He performed it for a recent piano exam and even won a music scholarship for his performance! The examiner asked him, why are you sitting on your piano??! My son calmly said “it’s how Jarrod does it”. 😂
I'm a college student now. When I was in 7th grade I used to be a hardcore pianist, I just loved it. And during that time Jarrod's videos were breaking the internet. He was my inspiration to play the instrument. You are still an inspiration to me Jarrod! ♥♥

I feel this so much and I can relate. I also found him through his virtuosic pirates solo and have strived to be (not quite as) great as him.
