@DropkicktheDecepticon it's just a minor bug, we've been used to the glitched tilt for 10 years. Those stupid glitches are what make some mod devs work. Maybe it's intentional?
My biggest question and concern is the delivery of bundles. I'd much rather see something like shulker boxes available early game, but I'll take whatever inventory expansions I can get at this point in early game.
Oooh I love the new look of the mangrove! Now if only they'd finally give us different wood variant bookshelves instead of leaving us stuck with oak :')
Wish you could make custom horns. Like being able to create custom noises with items on a crafting table. Example like iron nuggets lower the pitch and gold nuggets raising the pitch.
The reason that you will only hear the sounds in stereo is because you need to turn on 3d audio in your audio app. I use Nahimic. When you turn it on it should work.
Virtual surround sound works by mixing stereo audio in specific ways. The headphones shouldn't matter too much; they just have to output a stereo signal. It is the software that does the work.
The Mangrove trees make me want a Maple or Evergreen tree. Ideally the Maple would be like a mix of Oak and Spruce and the Evergreen would be like a mix of Birch and Spruce with a light green tinge to it.
i love the mangrove wood!! it looks so nice its the perfect blend between crimson and acacia wood. the log form is also really cool, looks life if you cut a beet in half, I'm going to love using the stripped version of it in builds. i do have to say that the mud texture needs a lot of work, the color just doesn't look like mud and its not a really nice color to look at, though the rooted form of it looks cool. but i adore the mud bricks, i might replace the blackstone i have in my basement with them. i wonder what the goat horn is gonna be for, i love that it has all different types of sounds but i really wish they add one of those classical long horn sounds like in a ricola commercial lol. i also would die for them to add the frogs randomly stacking on top of each other, or being able to pick up the frogs and stack them. i really wanted the copper golem to be a little statue and decoration block but it would also be cool if the frogs could "freeze" or something and they could be little statues their little faces would be nice to put around a build.
Would be nice if frogs had a change to drop one of their legs on death, and could be used as an ingredient for jump boost, so you have the ability to use either rabbit's foot or a frog leg to brew a jump boost potion.
I really like the colour of that mangrove wood, it'll look so great in builds :D really really hoping for a craftable 'inert' sculk as it is such a beautiful block and has so much building potential but not if you have to worry about a warden spawning in your house!
Ok, scrap all the theories about the goat horn having game changing uses, now I just love the idea of it having different tunes depending on the material you craft it with, like a mini music disc. Features like that are just so fun!
@@4eyewiseguy no they won’t. It’s already confirmed that a couple of mangroves will spawn in the normal swamp and the mangrove forest will be a totally new biome where only mangroves spawn. So like „Forest“ (some birches spawn there) and „Birch forest“ (only birches spawn there)
The 3D Audio setting sounds like it should specifically be for headphones/earbuds that have 3D tracking. If you don't have them, it won't do anything different than stereo. But the changelog just says "best experienced with headphones" implying that's not what it is, so I'm not sure what it does.
The fact that the skulk blocks drop XP when broken means that the deep dark biomes might be a really good source of early game XP as long as you're careful not to spawn the warden
No generated skulk won't contain exp since no mob died to create it. Only ones generated by a catalyst will contain xp. Or else it would be very broken.
I know it’s tentative for oak trees to spawn from both underwater and above water Mangrove Propagules, but it would be cool if using the Mangrove Propagule makes oak trees, while below water makes the mangrove trees; however, above water wouldn’t just make a regular oak tree, but instead it should make the old swamp oak trees as a nod to the old swamp biome that has been in the game for an entire decade
I feel like 1.18 has started the new minecraft, and 1.19 adds so much to that! Mud and mangrove wood and frogs were all dreams, and now they are being implemented! Minecraft has begun a new era!
@@Big-Tork-Large-Gass agreed, the aquatic update basically defines the difference between new and old Minecraft. 1.18 definitely feels like the biggest leap since then though
Yeah 1.13 was the first stem I'm Mojangs "Revamp the whole game" phase, 1.18 being the biggest signifier of the complete shift having outdone the entire overworld, now we just need an update for the end
10:50 Oh I'm really excited about this one, since I bought a head tracking headset a couple months ago, but it didn't seem to work that well in minecraft.
3-D audio is for headphones and makes sounds sound like they're coming from the corresponding direction the noise is relative to your character. The reason those zombies sounded the same is because you either weren't using headphones, or the headphones you were using don't support 3-D audio. Computers aren't capable of 3-D audio on their own. If you used headphones, those zombies would sound different depending on the direction your player character was facing. For example, if the zombies were behind you, they would sound like they were physically behind you, and if you turned around to face the zombies, they would sound louder as if you physically turned around to face them. Also, the patch notes say that the option is best experienced with headphones. In short, 3-D audio makes it sound like you're actually there, and sounds behave like you're actually there. Hope this helps!
A very simple way to tell apart 3d Audio and Stereo is when placing a block you either hear it on the left or right. With Stereo you hear the noise on the side that just doesn't feel right. the Stereo has been iritating me lot so im thankdul for the change.
The 3D audio might depend on if you have a surround sound setup or not. If you're playing on a two speaker setup, you're probably going to hear stereo. But it should be evident on a 5.1, 7.1, or 7.2 setup. (I suppose I could go test it on my home theater setup in the living room.)
My first thought for a mud farm, if you had 2 water sources next to a block, you push it out of the way and water fills the hole, a dispenser grabs the water with a bottle, another dirt is pushed over the dispenser and turns to mud, being taken away again to open the spot in front of the dispenser for a water refill
I honestly think that as opposed to buckets of tadpoles, Mojang should maybe make it bottles? The texture sorta looks awkward (albeit cute) and honestly it feels like a lot of material for one tadpole.
3d sounds as far as I know is where the sound is the same volume in both ears so it actually makes it harder to know where the sound comes from because there isn’t any deferent in any of the ears
on the 3d audio, i INSTANTLY noticed a difference, the audio direction is much more refined than the current stereo system, which only really gave you a vague direction
For HRTF (head related transfer function, or 3D) Audio, it does best with over-ear headphones that are decent quality. With my Sennheiser 280 HDs (like around $90, but even ear buds can actually replicate this effect), I notice quite a distinct difference from stereo to 3D. It's close when left to right, but the function really does allow me to better distinguish where a mob is. On the surface (literally), it doesn't really change much. But this is actually going to be a major game-changer underground, where you can also hear the difference between up and down, as well as forward, left, right, and behind. Instead of having to guess where a mob is located in stereo, you'll be able to hear the precise direction of mobs within caves the moment that they make a sound.
I turned my phone off of mono sound just to hear the 3D audio, and it is a huge improvement! It sounds like it will allow me to play the game without turning on mono sound when I wear headphones. Due to my autism I can't handle stereo sound most of the time. It'll cause a meltdown. But 3D audio (when properly implemented) is usually no problem. And it sounds like this is implemented properly :D
I think the Copper Goat horns would be interesting to work like fireworks where you craft them using an item? Like a Diamond plays a really bright and happy song, and netherack/gold plays the riff from Pigstep.
The 3D audio will depend on your headphones/speakers, but I can definitely hear it. Currently Minecraft only supports stereo, so left/right magnitudes. The 3D audio further allows you to tell forward from back and up from down
3D audio us HUGE. Its much easier to find where things are with this. For some reason 1.13 completely broke the directional audio. They restricted sounds to specific audio channels based on orientation. I'm glad they are fixing this.
I think structures of jutting bone blocks would look amazing in the Deep Dark biome. Just spikes of bone sticking out of the walls or ground in random places that would really emphasize the chaos and rot of the Deep Dark, along with the feature of bones seen in the skulk shreiker and Warden.
They just need to make the mud block brighter, it just needs to be more like a dark brown than a black. They could also mix in some dark greens and blues to break it up, mud should also make a “slop” sound and should slow you down a little less than soul sand, you should also sink in it more when you run fast
I think it should work like quick sand. It should at first not slow you down at all. But as you sink down into the mud it should slow you down more and more as you sink deeper into it.
@@darth3911 yeah but you shouldn’t get stuck completely. Like maybe to the point where you have to “jump” or something but you shouldn’t sink into it deep, they should create another mud block that you sink into that is around and in water
@@Alffraido Agreed. The way I would envision it you can’t sink farther then one block down. But unfortunately such features would be up to the development team.
3D Audio is probably only going to apply for 360degree speaker setups and special headphones. Although the headphones almost never work very well. Essentially you need 4 different speakers surrounding you to get this kind of audio effect. It is used mostly in cinema.
I could definitely tell the difference while watching this video on my phone between the stereo and the new 3D audio. I think is gonna be really helpful identifying whereabouts a sound is coming from, especially when hiding from the warden.
I can see "Minecraft full scale war" taking over "Minecraft 100 day" trends on RUclips with the new Goathorn battle cries! Imagine assembling your own multiplayer army and having all your knights blow their battlehorns as they charge into battle. Awesome.
I would have liked two things: The ability to craft horns out out of two goat horns then using a smithing table to add them to a helmet just for vanity but it can also have a use(maybe a ram attack or extra durability idk) And being able to use the smithing table to combine a crossbow(since they don't get that much love enchantment wise) and a spyglass to make a scoped crossbow with can help with aim and just look really badass Honestly both of these sound like they would be in some kind of "warfare update" in the future
To really test the 3d audio, make a Doppler effect test. Basicaly, place a very loud mob in a minecart. Make a medium size rail line, like 21 long and place the minecart in the begining. Go to the middle of the line and set off the minecart. Compare the sound when it's coming to you and when it's going away. The first should be higher pitched.
I do a lot of audio work, and I've got a professional sound device, and I can hear a huge difference with HRTF. Problem with HRTF is that a lot of it depends on your speakers, size of your head, what headphones you're using, and so on.

I feel like this Mangrove wood type will work nicely in tandem with the nether crimson woods. Perhaps some sort of gradient? :)
Mojang really knocked it out of the park with the mangrove and mud brick. So much cool stuff to build with, with amazing mechanics to boot!
The 3D audio really worked good for me... It's easier to notice wether it is behind you or just more near to the right back side...
the creepers and tnt also are a good example: when tnt is falling, you can more easilly notice it's direction while not even looking at it
@DropkicktheDecepticon what damage screen tick? The *hurt* sound? That was fine to begin with..?
@DropkicktheDecepticon eh give up, it's been a bug since 1.3, why would they fix it now? It's a server issue, too, and mods are here for this issue
@DropkicktheDecepticon it's just a minor bug, we've been used to the glitched tilt for 10 years. Those stupid glitches are what make some mod devs work. Maybe it's intentional?
I'm glad they're giving magma cubes another use. Actually gives a purpose to use the spawner you can find in bastions
I think the whole eating slime and magma cube thing is just a placeholder for the fireflies
@@vandervelde4891 Nope. Mojang said they won't make frogs eat fireflies because in real life fireflies are toxic to frogs.
I feel like that with the addition of mangrove wood, there could also be the addition of the azalea wood type, instead of just having it as oak
They didn’t add it then, they’re not going to now. Azalea doesn’t need its own wood type
I'd have liked a slightly pink tone wood for Azalea, but I also feel like it's more of a tree which is used for its leaves instead of its wood
Seiing the beginning of the video, I think they should add a new flowing liquid to match the mood of the deepdark 💁🏽♂️
yea, something like water thats infected with skulk algae or something
i agree
@@InsaneFox-yl2pc That could just be a retexure of water like how Swamp water acts.
They could retexture water for deepdarks but I don't think there should be a completely new liquid unless it has another purpose than scenery
@@InsaneFox-yl2pc oooh great idea! Maybe the skulk would get floaters that appear like Lilly pads and infect the surrounding area underground
My biggest question and concern is the delivery of bundles. I'd much rather see something like shulker boxes available early game, but I'll take whatever inventory expansions I can get at this point in early game.
Would be really neat if dirt under Pointed Dripstone would have a chance to turn into mud every time it gets water dripped on it
9:38 You could always put a bottle filter underneath to pull out the empties.
Depends on his headphones.
@@b4n8x56 Not with Nahimic, it uses AI to deliver stunning 3d audio do matter the headphones
@@TacoBel You sure, because I doubt they could access outdated drivers
Virtual surround sound works by mixing stereo audio in specific ways. The headphones shouldn't matter too much; they just have to output a stereo signal. It is the software that does the work.
@@Pr0phet_of_Fear i can hear it with my headphones
2:16 I'm sure you noticed by now, at least while editing, but that frog jumped over because it had a block higher of elevation to begin with.
All of this looks so cool to experiment with!
Would be nice if frogs had a change to drop one of their legs on death, and could be used as an ingredient for jump boost, so you have the ability to use either rabbit's foot or a frog leg to brew a jump boost potion.
rabbits jump shorter than frogs in mc. perhaps jump boost 3?
nah, too op
So you are french?
I finally have a red block with a slab variant besides red nether brick!!
@Projitno just no
I really like the colour of that mangrove wood, it'll look so great in builds :D really really hoping for a craftable 'inert' sculk as it is such a beautiful block and has so much building potential but not if you have to worry about a warden spawning in your house!
Ok, scrap all the theories about the goat horn having game changing uses, now I just love the idea of it having different tunes depending on the material you craft it with, like a mini music disc. Features like that are just so fun!
I really, really hope you can make your own tunes with it!
I can confirm - Zombies burning with the 3D audio is VERY different. That is going to be wierd to get used to
I know this is already a big update but I would love to see a swamp village with the new blocks it would be amazing
mangrove village then?
@@jokerpunctre yes I just said swamp because I assume the mangrove will replace the default swamp
@@4eyewiseguy no they won’t. It’s already confirmed that a couple of mangroves will spawn in the normal swamp and the mangrove forest will be a totally new biome where only mangroves spawn.
So like „Forest“ (some birches spawn there) and „Birch forest“ (only birches spawn there)
btw you forgot about bonemealing the mangrove leaves for the mangrove 'saplings', then bonemealing that 4 times to get the full 'sapling'
The 3D Audio setting sounds like it should specifically be for headphones/earbuds that have 3D tracking. If you don't have them, it won't do anything different than stereo. But the changelog just says "best experienced with headphones" implying that's not what it is, so I'm not sure what it does.
Players: Hey the goat horn is really cool, can't wait to see its potential as a game-changing item
Mojang: haha goat horn go *H O N K*
Mojang added alot of really useful features this update, they might aswell add some "social features" to the game
I saw someone suggest you could stun the Warden with it
Summon horses
Link the horses to different sounds from the horn
It’s like how a dog teleports but instead it’s controllable and on command
@@disco-bot2724 Yoooo that's actually a great idea
It would be cool if the mud lowered your jump height
The fact that the skulk blocks drop XP when broken means that the deep dark biomes might be a really good source of early game XP as long as you're careful not to spawn the warden
If i remember well, it drop XP only if it was generated by a skulk cathalyst (idk how to write this), wich uses XP from mobs to generate these blocks
@@DestroyerOfWeebs it’ll all depend on if pre-generated ones count or if it’s only ones not made by original world generation
I feel like for reasons of game balance, naturally generated skulk won't contain XP
No generated skulk won't contain exp since no mob died to create it. Only ones generated by a catalyst will contain xp. Or else it would be very broken.
@@gauthamarun3878 In the experimental snapshot generated sculk did drop XP, idk if that's the case in this snapshot though
No
Beta 1.8 started a new Minecraft
10:50 Oh I'm really excited about this one, since I bought a head tracking headset a couple months ago, but it didn't seem to work that well in minecraft.
Mangrove wood looks so damn good 😍 and im sorry to be that guy but now it just feels like there really should be azalea wood 😞
Yes I think something a similar darkness to oakwood with a green tinge would be great as all the wood types lean warm apart from that one nether tree.
I love the mangrove wood change, it’s absolutely perfect
All I can think is, whoever was recording all those goat horn sounds probably had a lot of fun doing it
Does any one think about pearlescent Moon when frog light get mentiond.
Yup
A very simple way to tell apart 3d Audio and Stereo is when placing a block you either hear it on the left or right. With Stereo you hear the noise on the side that just doesn't feel right. the Stereo has been iritating me lot so im thankdul for the change.
I'm hype for the mangrove wood, by I wish it was slightly more like the wood color on a smithing table cause that texture is dope as hell
Can’t wait to see the mangrove trees implemented probably my favourite wood color by far
I'm curious about the range of the frogs "eating" ability with slimes and how long the reset is on that. Do you have any insight Xisuma?
That new trapdoor would look great as a window replacement in an underwater build.
11:10, you need a headset that supports 3D audio
Frogs should attack phantoms too. They look like dragonfly insects
The mangrove looks really nice, I’m excited for the builds to come out with it
If they keep its reddish texture it will be my favorite type of wood.
on the 3d audio, i INSTANTLY noticed a difference, the audio direction is much more refined than the current stereo system, which only really gave you a vague direction
This mangrove wood is GORGEOUS I cant wait until its actually in the game
Copper horns give me jazz band PTSD where you can ONLY hear the saxophones
Finally HRTF 3D audio... hopefully its implemented well. The old audio was awful to locate mobs/water while strip mining.
The 3D audio further allows you to tell forward from back and up from down
Big difference with the 3D sound in my opinion, worked really well over the video.
Tried the deep dark snapshot it is amazing!
Frogs should attack any flying creatures. Bees, bats, vex, phantoms, etc.
3D audio us HUGE. Its much easier to find where things are with this.
For some reason 1.13 completely broke the directional audio. They restricted sounds to specific audio channels based on orientation.
I'm glad they are fixing this.
Slime balls seem to be a placeholder for lightning bugs right now.
I think structures of jutting bone blocks would look amazing in the Deep Dark biome. Just spikes of bone sticking out of the walls or ground in random places that would really emphasize the chaos and rot of the Deep Dark, along with the feature of bones seen in the skulk shreiker and Warden.
By my understanding HRTF is good at doing vertical surround sound better than others (like hearing a zombie above or below you).
You already know people are gonna put the one horned goat in a zoo and say it's a unicorn
15:00 John Coltrane joined the game
Awesome.
Those sculk patches are gorgeous!
I would have liked two things:
The ability to craft horns out out of two goat horns then using a smithing table to add them to a helmet just for vanity but it can also have a use(maybe a ram attack or extra durability idk)
And being able to use the smithing table to combine a crossbow(since they don't get that much love enchantment wise) and a spyglass to make a scoped crossbow with can help with aim and just look really badass
Honestly both of these sound like they would be in some kind of "warfare update" in the future
this is now the 3rd type of slime farm 2:51, first we had the actual one, second was the sneezing panda farm and now its the frog eating farm
That frog jumping when you said five blocks was super funny
Those trapdoors look so good and the door looks like a pretty cool unique style!
okay i love how the mangrove wood looks. thats gonna be fun to build with when mods eventually make their way over to that ver when its out.
I do a lot of audio work, and I've got a professional sound device, and I can hear a huge difference with HRTF. Problem with HRTF is that a lot of it depends on your speakers, size of your head, what headphones you're using, and so on.
Frogs have been all I’ve ever asked for in Minecraft. This is the best update ever.
