Some MCs are fighting gods, destroying things from unknown universes with superlative powers. Some lose theirs but it comes back just in time to save day. Then you got Adol here, falsely accused and sent to a trial where the game actually convinces you that you're on your own. I don't know why, but after playing this scene, nothing else struck me as awe inspiring anymore.
This is the hardest fight in the game simply because there is no preparation factor it is entirely skill since the Gladius is the weakest weapon in the game. Also as a special mention the music that is playing at 6:18 is actually a remix of the piece "Don't Go So Smoothly" from Ys II it plays right before the final boss of that game. Also impressive finisher BTW.
Legend says : "The enemy will never fight fair and so they will always be a step ahead just to outclass you. You simply have to fight and use all your wits like there's no tomorrow if you ever wanted to see another light of day!"
Me too. Although I'm bad at timing stuff like that, it still would have helped a lot on certain boss battles. xD Don't understand why they never tell you about it.. Made me think it wasn't possible..
I guess for stuff like: 1. Dodging is easier. 2. Timing, though I don't have any issue whatsoever with it. (=I'm not bad at it.) 3. Cancelling dodges into attacks are flashier. 4. Guarding is for people who dare themselves to stand their ground and/or it's to show off to friends, and gives you a fat bonus damage for doing it. I wished they made the dmg bonus of each successful flash guard stack, (counter is hidden) then the stacks are all used in either one attack, or one skill. (GG Pentagram Destruction XD)
It's actually easier to learn guard timing in Nightmare than to try and dodge. There's so much crazy AOE -- not only are you likely to get clipped by something you couldn't see through the explosions, but you might as well get a crapton of SP and counter-criticals out of it so the fight ends faster.
@@waypointb You may not stack the critical values of the Flash Guard but you can always maintain the guard up and you get some bonus points from it to fill up the Special Attack meter.
It was a fun battle, I'm having a nightmare Ys run as well! I think the real pain is the earth dragon, as I didn't farm for levels or equips: it was a fun challenge after all! Looking forward for your next videos, cheers!
Ok that works if you don't mind having a longer fight especially on the harder difficulties. Personally I don't want to drag on fight for too long in an action rpg plus flash guarding has a high risk high reward aspect that makes it really appealing and a lot of fun to use.
Yeah, that much is true. Dodging does make the fight drag on. I'm just saying that with as fast a boss as this one, dodging does make things much easier.
They thought a mere titano would kill Adol. Bitch do you know who the fuck Adol Christin is? Dude saved Esteria and beat Darm, beat multiple Galbalans, the Ark of Napishtim, Eldeel, the Origin of all Life, etc
The PSP version of Ys VI is pretty laggy and difficult to play, so if you can get the PC version instead, somehow, that would be better. Although that'd cost an arm and a leg.

And it was at this moment I realized Adol was the most badassed RPG character ever.
I could not agree more!
Adol: I fought several godlike entities in the previous games, this will be a cakewalk.
Oh man, the ost, falcom music department never cease to amaze me :D

Ygses Toluga: "I fear no man, but that thing.."
Buckler: ....
Ygses Toluga: "It scares me."
I found that this boss is actually drastically simpler if you don't bother with power shielding and just go for the dodge every time.
I didn't know you could guard! XD And I just dodged throughout the entire gameplay through all difficulties. ; - ;

Wow you took on a giant beast single handedly! Its just so cool when a main character does that.
Best Moment in YS History right here
I wish I was half a man like him but I am.
It was a fun battle, I'm having a nightmare Ys run as well! I think the real pain is the earth dragon, as I didn't farm for levels or equips: it was a fun challenge after all! Looking forward for your next videos, cheers!
I still remember this scene.. Scias is one hell of a bastard for putting us in that position.
ahh finally , so glad you put some new Ys Seven vids :3
Love the PC version. Defeating Badass bosses and saving cute girls, man good times :3
Man, you have flash guarding down way better than I did.

Considering that adol fought existence itself in one of his previous adventures, this is nothing but a normal tuesday for him.

This was a fun boss fight I still need to get the other two Ys games for psp
Thats amazing bro

By this point he already fought the origin of all life itself and won, nothing could get in his way anymore.

lol i had to fight him with low lvl but you know as long as you dont get hit you are the winner
I still need to get 1 and 2 chronicles oath of felghana I want ark of napishtim on ps2 because you can change everything into the japanses version
