In my country being transgender is still a hugely politicised and negatively viewed issue. So over here, tr***y and its equivalents are still used to abuse, discriminate against, and attack transgender people (including myself) on a regular basis. That word will never be seen as a good or okay thing by me or any of the trans people I know, because we have all felt its impact when used directly towards us in a derogatory way.
