Eh? Even when I was younger I would happily conform to gender roles while still wishing I was a boy. I would still hate my female anatomy whether or not gender roles existed
But our bodies are still different and still do different things ppl could still have bodies dysmorphia. I feel roles would exist regardless at my last job all of the porter work and storage room jobs were assigned to men. None of the women felt any way at all they were strenuous assignments and it took a lot of strength to lift those items. Now they are trying to make the females do those jobs due to “equality” but it’s causing a lot of issues and they are getting hurt
I wish that was true but for example some trans men get a boy haircut or build muscles or do anything the society consideres "manly" to make them feel comfortable in their body
At the same time if cis guys especially the gay one can dress feminine do drag or whatever and still identify as boys so can trans men do the same .the same goes for trans women ofc
That last comment was so beautiful - making me cry. It's true. I wouldn't wish the struggles, the surgeries, the discrimination, on anyone, but getting to be part of queer community is such a beautiful, wonderful, thing. It's part of what makes us who we are.

Should’ve asked “is gender dysphoria necessary to be trans?” I’ve noticed a divide in the trans community when it comes to this question so it would’ve been interesting to hear what this group of people think.
Also people who say they don't have gender or are anything that female or male aren't trans... So why is one in the video? Trans is when someone brain function like the other sex... So people who say they don't have gender they don't belong here
Anna Mrl that’s not what being trans is. being trans is the disconnect from the gender assigned at birth, which is what dysphoria is. non binary people feel a disconnect from the gender assigned at birth, and are therefore trans
@@dominic-ir5zs you aren't assigned a gender at birth you are assigned a sex based on your genitals, it's just a medical observation. Are "non-binary" people invalid in their experience? No but it's not the same as being transsexual and people should stop trying to piggy back their pet project minority's issues on the flavour of the month sacred cow because all it does is muddy the water.
Alexandra Henderson nope. The APA, NHS and WHO say you don’t need dysphoria to be trans. You only need a disconnect from your birth gender. Dysphoria is distress

If gender roles and gender norms are not necessary, then if you are born male and identify as female why are you working so hard to look and dress like a woman?
because they want to be perceieved as a woman by society? its not that hard to understand, we already live in a society where gender roles are inevitable so
Because they want to be perceived as women. An example would be say theoretically i don't like paying taxes, i might not believe we should pay them but that doesn't mean i'm gonna commit tax fraud, because we live in a society where paying taxes is necessary so i'll do it, even though i'm opposed to it morally.

If gender rolls didn’t exist no one would have horrible gender dysphoria because we would all just be whatever we want.

Should’ve asked “is gender dysphoria necessary to be trans?” I’ve noticed a divide in the trans community when it comes to this question so it would’ve been interesting to hear what this group of people think.
Emily Graham
The answer is yes, that’s what trans is. Anyone who says no is a transtrender at this point.
Transition means to move from one state to another so if you don't change anything or aren't changing to a defined state ie. male to female you aren't trans simple as.

If gender roles and gender norms are not necessary, then if you are born male and identify as female why are you working so hard to look and dress like a woman?
because they want to be perceieved as a woman by society? its not that hard to understand, we already live in a society where gender roles are inevitable so
YOU ARE SO DAMN RIGHT
Because they want to be perceived as women. An example would be say theoretically i don't like paying taxes, i might not believe we should pay them but that doesn't mean i'm gonna commit tax fraud, because we live in a society where paying taxes is necessary so i'll do it, even though i'm opposed to it morally.
