I'm so glad I just found your channel! I'm trying to work in DC when I graduate and the internship struggle is real. I had a fully virtual internship this past summer and if learning about the federal govt wasn't hard enough, doing it completely virtually was so hard.

It really is a different beast and there’s just not much info easily available, especially for people new in their careers like federal resume tips.

Hello, new subscriber here! I would absolutely love to see a professional development vlog on how to become a data analyst or an economist this is very intriguing to me. I am starting a degree in biology in spring is this a start or do you need to follow a different degree?
helllooo thank you for joining, welcome!! :) yes I’ll probably try to incorporate that info into one of my 9-5 work week vlogs to try to give detailed info on it day to day! Biology is a great degree for analytical thinking and it can allow you to prepare for life as an analyst, health analyst, or healthcare field in general! But if you want to be an economist the bare minimum would be to get a minor in Econ and take extra classes to learn about economics, such as econometrics classes, statistical analysis amd even come computer programming!

I really want to work in the public sector post grad and was wondering how many/what type of internships you did during college? to help you get a federal job post grad. It would really help :)
Wow that awesome! Sounds like great majors to pursue a career in the public sector! It depends, do you want to do federal in DC or would you rather workin state or local government/ nonprofit? Hm well I did a lottttt of stuff in college haha including student Gov lots of clubs, jobs, etc. Then I did a couple of summer internships in DC!

It’s just that it’s kind of a whole story lol I always had trouble condensing my resume. My federal resume is actually 3 pages long! Any specific questions? About types of experience or anything I can respond here!

Would you say there are some agencies that are more prone to giving internships? Or if you’d be comfortable to sharing where you interned in college, anything would help :)

I applied to the CHCI public colicky fellowship 3 years in a row and I didn’t get it until the 3rd time. This past June I was accepted but I had to decline because I was offered the job I have now, and honestly, with COVID, I didn’t want to take the chance of being jobless in our job market next spring.
