A point to note is, not all universities give RA, TAship to masters students. A majority of them do, but some dont. Make sure while deciding on a uni, you ask seniors if the uni hires MS students for these positions. UTD does not, TA and RAship is reserved only for PhD students (for CS dept only I think. I dunno about other majors). MS students get gradership tho, which is just a hourly position, and have no perks like tuition fee waiver. Source: I'm a current MS CS student at UTD...
I was to fly for Fall 20, I was also about to fly for Fall 21 & now I'm planning to fly Fall 22 .. life never works as per the plan. Anyway, thanks for providing with such videos throughout this journey.
I would like to add that professors do not give RA positions easily. Sometimes even for PhD students, it can be challenging to bag an RA. It requires trust and understanding of the project and hence the filtering for the same. For all the prospective students who plan on applying for graduate studies in the US, can definitely look at different universities and maybe speak to current students and get information on which universities actually consider the masters students for the assistantship positions. One thing to also find out is if they pay the same amount to the masters students as compared to the PhD students. Some universities pay around half the amount to masters students as compared to the PhD students. Lastly, some departments may pay less to the students for eg. The computer science PhD students may get paid less than a biomedical sciences from the same university and which may not be enough for the basic standard of living as well. So some departments at the same university may pay well. I do not mean to discourage anyone by saying the above. I am currently pursuing PhD in cell and molecular biology at Kent State University, Ohio and have known these different instances from knowing some friends and acquaintances. I know that Kent state university provides teaching assistantships to masters students enrolled in the Biomedical sciences program (equal to the PhD students) as also Cleveland State University, Ohio does, however I don't know if it is equal to the PhD students.
If you want to increase your chances of getting any kind of funding in the US, apply to universities that are not very popular among desis. If you have too much competition your chances drop significantly. It doesn't matter which university you attend (obviously don't go to some random for-profit univ), as long as you have the right work ethic you will land a well-paid job.
Hey man! Thanks for the info. So I'm planning to apply for Ms in Civil for fall 2022 but not yet decided for what field to do masters in can you really help what are the field of civil engineering that's gonna be booming for atleast 5-10 years. Really appreciate you help.
I will be coming in FALL22, please make video on how to approach professors for Assistanships. And also can we get Assistanships before landing in USA ? If yes please do explain that too.
Not all univs give such option.. usually u shld approach a professor before going there to get a job or else u shld first get a random on campus job through seniors via LinkedIn and then wait for the univ to upload the jobs on the website and then u can apply!
@@poojanpanchal3721 In some US universities, as part of the admission application there's a part in the application form where you need to declare if you wanted to be considered for TA/RA/GA position. It still depends on the department where your target program is offered if such positions are available. Hope it helps.

Hey parth, I want to ask just one thing that about the tution fees being waved off and getting stipend also, is there any seperate procedure or like what is the scenario while applying for that. What all things do they consider?
When you receive any of these assistantships, if the university policy is to also provide for fee waiver along with the assistantship, it will be automatically done to your account. You wont have to apply for a separate waiver. Some assistantships come with a tuition waiver.
@@krunalbhatt8739 it can be asked directly to the university, however, if there is any procedure they would want to go along, they make sure to guide the student for the same. Asking doesn't hurt though. Above is true if you already have some kind of assistantship from the university. If you plan to apply for one and need information on whether they provide fee waiver too, talking to current students in the program makes more sense. They will be able to tell you how things work in the respective department more accurately. If that is slightly difficult, you could ask the professor too as to what will your assistantship will cover.

Based on your GRE score you can get a basic idea about universities. First of all search of all top universities for your course. You can also search for admits from websites like Yocket and YMgrad to those universities. There are many elements in your application like - undergrad CGPA, Work Experience (fulltime or internships), research papers, SOP, LORs, projects (industry funded or hackathons), extra curricular activities like volunteering at some ngo, toefl/ielts score.... So based on these factors you can get an idea which universities are good for you... If you have a great score, cgpa, profile with relevant work experience and research... Then you can for sure get into top colleges Little bit about myself ... I am also going for MS CS in USA (specialization in AI) in Fall22...
