Just a heads up guys, been to Medellin 2 times in the last 4 months. Both times I got Covid. It’s crazy there, lots of people sick but no tests. I arrived home last week still recovering. Have fun - be safe.
True, stay safe. I cane back with a cough. Tested myself of course and negative. Yea man, if you're going to be up on someone. Especially non vaxed. Oh hell no
How doing , great video. I have a question I'm planning on travelling to Medellin in October for the first time any insight on good hotels, Airbnb and things to do? And which airport when I look I see there's several airports. Any suggestions will be gladly appreciated.
Lot's to cover un one response. I have over 1000 videos on Medellin. But for a first timer, I'd say stay at the Dann Carlton Poblado. Walking distance to Parque lleras, the mall and even downhill to the metro, as well as restaurants, etc. Reach out to my guide Andres for airport pickup and drop offs and tours. They you'll kind of know your way around. Many other visitors will offer assistance. Just talk to people
No plans right now. I need to see the world first. Possibly out of this hemisphere. I'm back out in less than 3 weeks. Stay tuned. But let's just say this, for now, this is where I would settle down. I live it that much.
That's exactly what I paid for. And a new building. And during Christmas, etc. Now, if I live there, I'd pay between $500-$600 per month. But that's longer terms
Welcome back to the US! Check Mig is an annoyance. I once came across an airline agent at check in who didn’t ask me to show her the check Mig when I was traveling back to the US. She told me that she’s doesn’t really put much “emphasis” on Check Mig. That showed me that it really depends on who’s who behind the counter lol. Amazing hotel .. I gotta check it out next time.
Hello Rob! and everyone that’s reading, the first time I visited Colombia I forgot to fill the Mig to exit and they didn’t ask for it, and when I mentioned it they didn’t care since I was leaving, after that I enter and they didn’t even mention about that last time and didn’t even requested it to enter last month, in the states they did ask for it before departing
The same thing also happened to me when I went to Colombia 2 months ago. They only asked for it when I was departing from the U.S. I guess since they know your a U.S. citizen they don't really enforce it upon return. However, since it's an easy form to fill out, I would still fill it out twice to and from just to avoid any delays
I flew out of Bogota early Sunday morning and they didn't ask me for the check-mig. I had a problem because my flight Saturday to DFW with American was cancelled, and check-mig kept telling me that I already had a flight for Sunday when I tried to enter a new one after the flight cancellation. So I don't know if they automatically moved it or the airline did when they rebooked, but no one ever asked me for it at the check-in counter or before/in migration.
Hey Rob it’s my first time going to Medelline I like that spot you in but I need an Airbnb that is closer to restaurants and grocery stores. I don’t want to walk more then 10 mins since I won’t have a car. Can you help me find one in a safe place ?
Safe is relative, but pull up some airbnb's. How long are you going for? Must be a while if you need groceries. But first check out my 2 or 3 videos on Airbnb's there. I give a few tips. Just checked; I have 4 other videos on this subject. Just search "dcbornrob airbnb"
I don't know. The first place has tight security at the front desk. They allow you one person to be on the lease with you, so you're good with at least the one. Just make sure she can't come back. The second one, still not sure, but I didn't see them ask anyone at the front desk. But I just wasn't paying attention. But all day long, people were coming and going
Nice to hear from you rob, its good to see you try njoy ur life even you had to breakup with ur girl, but i have to say, its maybe not the best idea to show exactly where you live and stay, yeah the chances something happens is rly low, but you talk about a lot of stuff ppl maybe dont like... take care pls.. and keep that in mind, its never a good idea to show ppl on the internet where you live the apartment looks pretty amazing, the view woow.... but the price is heavy to, i had an apartment double the size with 3 bedrooms, on the first floor in laureles, for a 6x times cheaper and everything was new in there but i think the view there is pricless if you can afford it x)
Yes, I never tell where I am or even that I was visiting there before I go. And I don't announce where I was staying until I left. Hence, I'm home now, i can show you both. Thanks much
good looking places but pretty expensive, is it the normal pricing now ? 400$ for 3 nights in medellin ? When the minimum salary is 200$? Doesn't make any sense
No, Heck no. You can live here in an airbnb between $5-600. I splurged for this trip. And it's the Christmas season. There are people that just go for the Christmas lights. Millions of extra people there, make the prices go up. Check out January or February to get better prices
Great video! I noticed something the same in those two places. Why does every hotel in Colombia have rainshowerheads? That has been my only complaint about all of the cities I have been to in Colombia. Give me a normal showerhead, even better is a showerwand… lol I hope they dont do that because they think someone is going to steal the showerhead. 😂😂
LOL. I actually like them. If they're a real rainhead shower anyway. Meaning the water pours heavy. These were ok. But in all honesty, the second one had an issue with keeping the water hot. I had to take a couple of quick cold showers. But all in all, they were both really nice
getting covid and recovering, drugged, etc, etc, etc. black man will die for white skin, crazy! was going to take a trip but will pass, hitting the bahamas instead. enjoy the 48 hour nap, unbelievable.
Beminimal is one of the best places I stayed at and the price was very reasonable for 5 days. And FCK JetBlue in Atlanta they wouldn't let me board without my check mig although I did the form 2 days before departure and I continued to get an error stating my information has already been submitted. Showed the error to front counter and nothing but opposition and adversity. I had to rebook on Spirit .
Hello Thanks for the info. I'm going to Bogota and Medellin This week. Can you recommend a tour guide and a real estate agent ? nIm going to contact the driver Andres. Thanks you can get my email on my about page. You may be too busy to respond but i thought i should give it a try. Thanks Ace!
I respond to all my comments. Hit me up via email dcbornrobgroup@gmail.com . Andres contact info is in the description of my videos. He and his company Nomad Travel is my choice for a tour guide in Medellin. Take our charity tour to El Faro. Good one. Or paragliding. That's the most fun I had the entire time I was there. For business and real estate, I'm getting ready to post a video on that. I'm working with someone else that lives there for an E book. I'll post within the next couple of days

Hotel Urban wins my patronage, good job rob
Yea man, both nice
Love Medellín. Is this place guest friendly? Or does it have rules on what time pay the desk and things like that?
Not sure. The first place will check id and sign them in. The second place I didn't see anyone coming or going, but it would be easy to do so
Medellin is beautiful and I love it.
True that. As I do. LOVE IT
Rob. Do you plan on moving here or retiring here anytime soon?
No plans right now. I need to see the world first. Possibly out of this hemisphere. I'm back out in less than 3 weeks. Stay tuned. But let's just say this, for now, this is where I would settle down. I live it that much.
430.00 for 3 nights??? Damn Rob...yous got GOT!
nvm,you paid for the balcony view
That's exactly what I paid for. And a new building. And during Christmas, etc. Now, if I live there, I'd pay between $500-$600 per month. But that's longer terms
@Rob so that website says the “Grand Suite Terrace” which looks identical to the one stayed it is a 2 bedroom.. did you find the other bedroom?
No, just one bedroom. lol. I looked and looked when I saw the other bathroom. But there was two apartments on each floor
Dam Rob you teased your self with that short trip 😀
Well, I'm supposed to be somewhere else. Still wanted to get away. And where best, but Medellin. I'm on the road again in 3 weeks

Yea, and add that it only allows you to put in one location. How good is that if I move around every few days? It's flawed for sure

They're probably tired of it too. I was asked when I checked in leaving Houston though.
Nice hotel. Back home find a good church, seek Good and take care of your grandkids. We should mature as we grow older.
Thanks for watching

@@dcbornrob going to medellin for one week then flying to Cartagena for another week . Ok I’ll check them out.
Thats a cool air b&b. Never stayed in those before
Yea man, the first one was NICE
I think they bug you about check mig more on the way in but they don’t care on the way out. I did it last time in May and no one asked to see it.
That's what happened. They checked on the way in but not on the way back
That 2nd place is off the hook.
I could setup camp there!!
They were both nice, but the first one won hands down. Keep in mind they both have the same Al Alma restaurant on the property.
Like n Comment..
You referenced th Matrix..lmao. I reference it all the time.
Thanks for the heads up about MigCheck.
Sure thing. Thanks again to you bro. Much thanks for your time. Tell the lady to find me someone nice there. lol. I'll be back. I'll need the help

I sent you a WhatsApp message and Video.

Is both of those places guests friendly

Does anyone know if we need a negative PCR test or antigen test when flying from Cartagena to Medellin? Thanks!
Not needed as of now, but they can always change that.
@@BobSmith-ml3vo much appreciated
You shouldn't. You're already in country
This is sweet...almost as sweet as the football scene in Michigan, USA right now. Detroit Lions are hot and U-M is just 2 wins from a Natty.
Gotcha. Thanks for watching
Jesus Christ Rob.. $430 for three nights? . My last stay last year in medde was $630 for 1 month.. .Thru AIRbnb.. Inflation??
That was to treat myself at a hotel. Yes, I paid just over $500 for a month when I lived there. But this was a quick get away to treat myself

True that
my last 2 trips to Colombia--i was never once asked for my check-mig!!
I'd still fill it out for now though. It's a major pain in the a$$ but, I'd rather not get pulled to the side before entering the plain.
