I'm a bit confused if I'm honest. In previous videos you have said you sell the cars on insta and that's where the GTI6 would be sold. I DM you a bid on Insta and now you say you don't read the DMS on insta, so how would I buy a car from you?!
The gti 6 was put on there and I said if your interested make me a offer and if it was excepted I would then message that person we get up to 1k messages on each video and I get hundreds on instagram commenting on the videos and I’m not going to get in to replying to them any comments about the videos need to be on the videos. At the end of this video I said I can’t respond to comments on Instagram I didn’t mention anything about private messages. I’m going to be completely honest once you except a private msg on instagram it’s then open for a 2 way chat any time and in the early days I opened and accepted a few messages and 2 of the people constantly messaged me one Evan kept sending me question marks asking why I’m not responding and his questions were what am I up to ?any video tonight ? Wanna go out for a beer ? Can I pop round at the weekend. Sorry bud I hope you understand where I’m coming from and why I need to be careful 👍
Wow the repair to this Golf is amazing, I do really like to see a quality repair, painting the inside of the door is just doing the job properly, touches like that make all the difference I think!.
That paint job was spot on Rob its really satisfying when you find someone who is genuinely good at their job. Another wad of notes in the back pocket lol.
In 2004 VW got big praise for the bolt on door skins as it lowered repair costs big time for customers and insurance companies, that’s a perfect colour match ,very good painter ,always had a soft spot for the GT Tdi’s as I’ve had a few ,great video 👍
Rob...love the videos. It would be really good if you could put a "before" and "after" picture when you do the numbers. Sometimes it takes a while for you to finish the cars and I forget what they originally looked like without trawling through the old vids
Great job lads. that painter sure does know what he's doing, £150 wow, that was a £350 job all day he's a keeper Rob, make a nice car for someone, cheaper than catching the bus, and still worth a few bob when youv'e done with it, nice one.
Rob and Chris the top guys that get involved lol 😂 Showing that golf door was brilliant cheers 👍🏻 Should of put a rear wash wipe on 🤔 Until the next see ya Stevie 😎
Rust on the front wings is a common problem on the mk5 golfs. They’ve got a sound absorber in the wing made of sponge which collects water and never has a proper chance to dry out which rots the arch👍🏻
Really glad I don’t have Instagram or the ability to buy your cars of you. Otherwise I would probably have bought ALL OF THEM! Love the channel and more power to you. Stay safe.
£150 for that paint work is a definite bargain, as you said he's probably looking after you on the price to make sure you send more work his way, so it's an investment in the future for him. He did a lovely job and went that bit further painting a lot of the inside of the door which makes sure no-one will know that door's been replaced unless they take it all apart. Once again, loving your work guys, that's a really tidy Golf for the age and the money, the next owner can spend a few quid on dealing with that rust and the odd chip and mark now, especially the creeping rust while it's still very minor, and have a car that looks pretty much like new for not much money at all. It goes to show, just because you're buying a cheap car you don't have to settle for junk, there are very good cheap cars out there if you do your due diligence...
Thought one: those arches have faired very well, have a look at an e46 of the same period... (mine will be treated and sorted for the third time now). Thought two: no wet and dry.....yet Rob's smile looks better than ever... Coincidence? 🤔 Cracking turnaround chaps, well worth the asking price. Good luck with the sale. 👍🏻
Nice job Rob and Chris , don't we in the trade love removing a new style different door handle from a vehicle without breaking it , it's a cracking idea about the door skin , would be a great idea for many manufacturers to do , but probably copyrighted by VW , keep the cars rolling cheers boys 👍
“Sounds like a Golf “ 🤣🤣🤣 Showing your age there Rob !! Those handles can be a right mare ! Once spent nearly two hours trying to refit one ..... 😬😬 Another great vid tonight lads 👍🏼👍🏼 Thank you 😊
Thank you for taking the time to video and talk about what you’re doing. I know it’s the nature of the channel but the way you explain your process is really enjoyable as a viewer. I thoroughly enjoy your channel and all your efforts. That painter is absolutely spot on and it looks stunning, great price too!
That's a snip at £1295, and your 'new' painter has done a lovely job by the looks of it, and he's gone the extra mile to make it look very tidy - much like you two do.
fantastic work guys as allways looking farward to watching more keep up the great content you work hard to give us the viewers, great honest content well done rob and chris. chris love the viva in the great words of elvis... VIVA lets fix it
Loving the vids guys. What a find.. I'm from Medway and grew up wanting cars like this. Born 72... I'm living in Goa now so love the nostalgia from the cars and places you film at. Very watchable
Havent watched the vids for a bit Rob and just watched the 306 and the Crafter videos and would like to say smashing job. Was very surprised to see how dirty that van had got. I was so happy when the 306 fired into life again. Couldnt believe my eyes after seeing the underside of it after 11 years of sitting around not doing anything. I quite good nick bet the new owners chuffed to bits. Great work on the Golf to looks great now with the new paint on that door. Painters brilliant! Great work Rob!
I love golfs! I have a mk6 GT TDI at the moment but mine has full leather and DSG (with paddle shifters added by me). Perfect every day driver. I think i have a stereo if you’re struggling.
Hi rob and Chris the vw golf is coming again really nicely now and another great video and I’m sure you doing the preparations will save you money at the paint shop and the door looks really good and hope you are both staying safe and well and hope you get a good profit on this one
The air bag light is a common fault with golfs/ jettas of that era my mums 2006 Jetta had the air bag light on for ages but we got someone to take it off
Top job Rob and Chris; a profit is a profit. Even better when they keep coming home. Not sure why people put a thumbs down, it is what it is; you can’t mark the lads down for not polishing the can’t be seen screws.😳🤪
another cracking video there Rob & another bargain buy with a nice profit to be had , again as ive said before , your attention to detail is second to no e , keep up the good work guys 👏👏
I had one of these cars. I had the 170bhp version with a remap taking it to around 185bhp. It was an absolute weapon. I love the way they look as well. I think they have aged really well. Easily get 250k miles out of it. Yours could do with a new steering wheel.
Another great video with good info i never nu you could remove the door skin you never stop learning job well done enjoying the vw crafter videos good luck boys n well done 👍
Having watched this, the new Polo set, the Transporter & Crafter I'm stunned you haven't done more VW's - they all seem well screwed together & relatively little work to strip. Great job on this one guys well done
You will get a VW radio cheep from a breaker or on EBay rob. Don’t mess around with an after market radio, as the wiring can become a pain in the a$$. You will struggle to find a constant live ( which means buying a “connects 2” harness and control unit at £65) Thanks for the info on the door handle as I’ve had issues with the caddy van sliding door. The are a bit fiddly. 👊🏻👍🏻

No need to justify as to why u don't feel the need to reply
@@sruk . Understand where you come from. Was just a bit confused as to how to buy. Just assumed you meant DM on there hence the confusion 👍

Give the painter a plug Rob, with results like that he will get plenty of work. Top work as usual.
He’s already flat out and if we plug him we won’t get our work done 👍
@@sruk Yeah I wouldn't be shooting myself in the foot either with workmanship of that standard.
Hi Rob,look at it now,the new paint matches perfect, very unusual to see a door panel to come off, what a great idea, another car done.👍
Wow the repair to this Golf is amazing, I do really like to see a quality repair, painting the inside of the door is just doing the job properly, touches like that make all the difference I think!.
I'm keen to see what cars Chris is hiding in the background its always nice to see a bit of fresh salvage
That paint job was spot on Rob its really satisfying when you find someone who is genuinely good at their job. Another wad of notes in the back pocket lol.
Marvellous vid Rob, thanks. That's a nice, cheap, quality motor for someone. The new painter looks like a real find. All the best to you and Chris.
Hear them every episode, but the tunes never get boring hahaha👍🏼
In 2004 VW got big praise for the bolt on door skins as it lowered repair costs big time for customers and insurance companies, that’s a perfect colour match ,very good painter ,always had a soft spot for the GT Tdi’s as I’ve had a few ,great video 👍
The new painter has made a really good job with it
That car does not look 16 years old! Let's crack on! new catchphrase Rob! Another smashing video and a great car for someone! Thanks guys👍
Rob...love the videos. It would be really good if you could put a "before" and "after" picture when you do the numbers. Sometimes it takes a while for you to finish the cars and I forget what they originally looked like without trawling through the old vids
Rob & Chris, great content as usual. Also got to mention the music. That's a great tune. Vampire by emmit fenn,( thanks to shezam) 4

Hi Rob & Chris, what a great result this VW has turned out to be, and nice paint job.! Will be a great reliable cheap car. Cheers, Alex.
Rust on the front wings is a common problem on the mk5 golfs. They’ve got a sound absorber in the wing made of sponge which collects water and never has a proper chance to dry out which rots the arch👍🏻
I was quite surprised how much quicker the TDGTI was over the standard GTI, you have done a great job, as usual, well done lads.
Well done guys. Great entertainment, super result and a nice profit too. What's not to smile about?
Cheers, Bob
Glad to see someone else have trouble with VAG door handles. I had the same trouble with my Lupo.

Absolute bargain Rob, as always a great job done. Trying not to buy it myself, no need for it but what a bargain for the cash!
I can see why your going to be sticking with this new bodywork/paint guy ,nice job 👍
