I have the River Flow 2 and 160 watt solar panel. We had camping trip scheduled to test it but due to terrible Scottish weather it was cancelled but hope to try it soon. It also has a pass through charge method e.g. when charging with the solar panel you can charge other devices from the power station.
Xboost is not for power surges, it's continuous, it lowers the voltages so that you still get the wattage. I don't recommend using it. Also, the 300W on the AC output is it's max, I recommend to stay well below it (200W for example), otherwise buy a bigger model. This goes for all power stations, don't put a heavy strain on them.

@@CampingSecretsUKIt's not overkill if you want to charge it with something that can't handle the needs, you can lower the power input. That's just one example, the app is pretty good.
In late 23'/near 2024... would you recommend the EcoFlow River 2 or the Bluetti AC2a, assuming pricing is the same? Use case is CarCamping to run heated blankets & fans, charging iPhone and iPad.
Hi David, not really. You'd need to run a battery charger off the AC socket, but the Ecoflow River probably doesn't have enough juice to make that worthwhile. The 12v socket won't charge a car battery directly
that's a tricky question as I don't know how often you'd be using it - however, because it uses LiPo cells (lithium iron phosphate), you'd likely be fine with the River 2 and still have a sizeable chunk of the capacity remaining.
I think the manufacturer is betting on that you wouldn't keep it for exactly ten years,as time passes newer and other modles you will move on to well before ten years.Best would maybe have it is three to five years.

Hi in the Uk we could experience blackouts soon. I'm looking for a portable power station to plug in my Mac mini M1 & monitor. Is it possible to have the computer permanently plugged in to a portable power station, and have the portable power station permanently on charge (only when I'm using the computer) so that if we get a blackout my computer will remain unaffected or at least until the portable power station runs out? I already have my Mac mini set up to automatically transfer from home wifi to 5g if the wifi goes down. If it is could you recommend a portable power bank please? Hope you don't mind me posting this on your page but I have no clue where to start. Thank you.
Many of the ecoflow river 2 unit's have a problem with not charging. Mine new unit wouldn't change by wall outlet, car or usb. It's a w ax ist of money buying from ecoflow.

They're pretty much identical and I've not tested the Bluetti. Flip a coin! However they won't last more than a couple of hours with a 100w blanket

The other components will fail long before then . They only warranty these for 4 or 5 years . Makes you wonder 🤔

the HEQ5 uses about 2.5 amps at 12V which is about 30W. So yes, I think it would power your awesome telescope overnight. Thanks, Marc

Yeah it would be, but you'd need a bit more capacity. My ebike has 650Wh, so the Delta 2 is probably more suitable than the River 2
