It was August, 30th, 1998. I was 7 and sitting in the living room listening to this theme, going to see the most incredible crash in F1 history. It was a cool and rainy ending summer sunday and everything in my life was simple and beautiful. Miss '90s.

Absolutely wonderful F1 intro theme... There is something about the visuals AND the music, which sends a shiver down the spine... Every time I see this, it takes me back to a time when F1 was more exciting... IMO the technology is better now, and the TV coverage is more thorough, but, I prefer this classic intro, when we knew that Murray would be about to start rambling on, as only Murray could do...
If you are here to listen to this, *then we all know* your wife is still upset with you because you used to woke up in the middle of the night to watch a formula 1 grand prix in Suzuka or Melbourne, because *you know* you couldnt miss the excitement of the V10s roaring everytime they passed in front of the pitline, or the adrenaline you had everytime a team managed to change tires and fuel under 6 seconds, the strategy, the danger, the crazy drivers cappable of throwing everything and more to lap down a couple miliseconds... In Rally there was group B... formula 1 technically is still named the same, but *we all know* the period between 1986 and 1999 wont come back, THOSE WERE THE DAYS! God bless the pilots, the teams, and those amazing circuits that are now forgoten... I loved formula 1, this intro means more to me than watching a grand prix this days... but its how it is!
Imagine, you're an F1 fan in Britain, it's 1994 and the BBC opens with Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' The Ultimate F1 music, then before the race you have this to prepare you for Green. Superb. Channel 4's 90's Tour De France music and Ski Sunday's 'Things that dreams are made of' music in the show, race lineup music in programme (The Human League) are iconic anthems that really should be looked at.

When you see/hear this, you automatically start to think of Murray Walker commenating, tobacco sponsorships/car liveries, screaming V10 engines, time when refueling was still a thing and you can even smell that fuel....ah the glorious days of F1, even if the racing might not have been all that exciting back then due to huge difference between cars at front and the rest of the field and that many times created quite boring races. Sadly it also reminds me of Imola 1994 and Senna (ofc Ratzenberger too)...if only things had went differently....Senna likely would have dominated the 90s
