Dude, this was awesome! Thanks so much! I found a sewer access grate just to the east of the first building you entered. Once I "alerted" the Skulls and "fulton-ed" the target truck, I made my way to the gutter, and crawled underground out to the main airfield. The open grate is under an awning between an electrical junction box and some wooden crates. From there, I headed north along the airport walls until I found a locked gate (picked the lock) and casually strolled out of the hot zone. I suppose at that point I could have called for a chopper. Thanks again! You saved me from a major headache and nerd-rage!
@@johnnyg4mer764 Unless you like restarting from checkpoints over and over, you're pretty much forced to fight them here too. There's no guarantee you're going to get away every time. Bottom line is: this mission has no business in this genre of game.
@Joosy Jay You can get quiet back after she leaves. Keep replaying Cloaked In Silence until the mission name changes, then complete it once more and Quiet will be back on your roster.
This mission was the worst "oh shit" moment I've had in the whole game so far lol. You're about to reach the objective, you wiped out the armored vehicles and then the fuckin SKULLS jump out of the truck bed.
The way I eventually ended up getting them was that I did a dive to the ground as soon as I was able. They skulls in this mission will follow you very slowly even if they don't detect you, so what I did was sneak away from the truck to draw them away. Then once they were far enough way from the truck, I raced back to the truck to Fulton it. Didn't get hit or seen once by the Skulls that way.
Virgil Young See how I did it, in the above comments. If you hit the deck ASAP when the pop out and you're not RIGHT next to them when they do, you can crawl away really slowly, leading them away from the caravan. Then you can sneak back once they're far away enough and get everything out without them catching you.
i neutralize the skulls by trapping them by the fence gate next to the truck because if you keep it locked they can't get through and they'll just walk into it forever. And then you spam sleeping gas at em and there you go
Trying to do this when you can't Fulton vehicles is impossible. Edit: this mission in general, not using this strat. Obviously this strat would also be impossible without vehicle Fulton.
Hezkezl I had to do it three times for them to not get me because the first 2 times they took 2 minutes to get distracted and went always going to the truck, third time I was lucky

+stump469 You should always destroy or cqc stun Skulls so you get parasite armor , don't understand why no one goes to roof of airport once you trigger arrival of Skulls then light them up from a reasonably safe distance then lure the fourth one close to where other three fell otherwise when you deal with fourth Skull you have about a minute to Fulton them, More you get the better the armor will be . CQC obviously has to be done away from others or they will mess you up but it's definitely doable .
Chinga3000 Every time I try to cqc them, they jump away. Only when I grab their sword, but you know, Snake sometimes doesn't want to counter an incoming sword.
For me I just snuck in, Fulton the tanks, then sneak onto the road and make DDog wait, when the truck stops the skulls jump out, then I make a trail of decoys and lead them away from the truck, extract it, then run away like a little girl and head to the chopper xD this way is much faster than what I did
Had your way as inspiration. My way was to kick the rear bumper onto the fence (where you hop over). That way some of the (heavily armed) guards show up, you can take them out. Go upstairs the same way in your video, take out the guy and walk down the stairs. The mean and ugly show up, I didn't had any use of the active decoys, so i used my brennan to shoot and run. While running and shooting, i Fulton the truck, head for my jeep and left the zone, that way i avoid fighting the Skulls. S Rank!

How to do it for S+: After watching this video I tried this but it didn't work. So I went to the road just in front of the place the uploader got out, and I used my vehicle(lorry) to barricade the road. Then I requested for the normal roof less car and set it up at a reasonable distance for getaway and set decoys in to the right of the road (to your left). The left of the road is a small hill where you will hide to extract the vehicle. Then use your rifle to fire a shot into the airport {Make sure it is NOT silenced} to trigger alert status so that the convoy starts moving.Now just crouch and wait till it reaches your position. Once it reaches the lorry, the convoy stops and the cutscene that, if you are here, you've seen a million times will be triggered.Then deploy the decoys, throw magazines just do anything to lure the skulls away from you and sneak to the vehicle and extract it. Don't worry if the skulls see you, just make sure you extract the vehicle before they do. When they see you, enter the armode truck and blast away till they are all dead and drive away.( Killing the skulls is the secret objective of that mission) Thank me later
I just went to the base, tranq'ed the human soldiers, and when the skulls show up i put on active camo, just went up to the caravan, fulton'ed it, and just ran to the exit while i still had active camo on. didn't get noticed by the skulls at all.
Best thing , get a tank, life them away far enough , than ditch the tank call your walker , go back to the truck , deploy it , run like hell and wait for the mission to end
i just followed the same steps without decoy lol. I just kept running till i left the hot zone and those idiot skulls were chasing me but once i was out with the skulls, i still got an S lmao!
What I did, was I just shot the trucks tires, used Quiet to help take out the guards, and once they were gone, I went and made the skulls appear. And the skulls seem to want to naturally gravitate towards your direction. So, once they were far enough away, I called in a bombardment on them. It killed three and left one on like 25% HP. And tbh, fighting one skull, just one solo skull, isn't really THAT hard. I just let my assault rifle do the talking until he was dead, and I drove the truck out. Reason I did this was because I didn't have a upgraded enough fulton to fulton out the car.
Second try. I just killed all of the skulls. Rank S. In depth: Took out the jeep with the zero guys (extracted everything) laid down a EMN there for the transport truck. Went towards the airport and laid out (spaced out along the powerline posts on the road) c4, emn, c4 in that order towards the airport. The first tank went over the c4 (didn't blow it) and hit the emn, then as the second tank passed over that c4 i blew it. Once the first truck past over the next c4 I blew it. now the transport truck was headed by itself towards the jeep intersection with the last emn. Once hit, i distracted the skulls with decoys and empty magazines until i could fulton it. They spotted me so i hopped on my horse, road around in circles and shot them to death. When i ran out of ammo I just through a resupply grenade.
When I did this, they stopped for some reason and I managed to fulton both tanks in the convoy but they kept shooting the fulton on the truck. Then they noticed and killed me and I wasn't able to make the convoy stop again.
At first I destroyed the tanks with Bombardment (Airstrike) then when I approach the truck those bastard skulls jump and started attacking me then I fired them with my MG(2 star) but whenever I tried so hard to beat these skulls I can't, sometimes I accidentally destroyed the god damn truck cuz the skulls are camping at it. I can't even fulton the god damn truck. Do I need the cargo 2 for the truck?
Bruh I basically had to fight off those misty creatures. I was on the verge of death and I quickly dismissed ddog because he was getting hurt and bought in dwalker. That dwalker saved my life lol. I was hard out driving everywhere and luckily I managed to extract the truck while fighting them lol they popped a few though. Can’t wait to try this method

Heres my problem. I can't get them to call me out of the truck without putting myself in a position where they'll see me. They come out and immediately detect me.
I did it in my 1st try using this strategy. If you get detected going back, try going around the small building/shed. Then futon, quickly turn around and pick the door open, disable the guard there, go around the corner... THEN SPRINT LIKE HELL!
Maybe they've patched this..? I'm not sure. I've tried a half dozen times now and without fail I'm immediately detected every single time, as soon as the Skulls appear....

Im doing the mission and luckily they all group up close to each other. I waste all my grenade launcher ammo on them and luckily kill them with ease..so I go around the base extracting stuff when one sleeping enemy close to the truck starts wakimg up. I try shooting with my pistol but too far so I RPG him...however the truck blew up as well. I got pissed af
