Julien, this was a not only a great, but a fascinating watch! I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to more. I bet this took a while to edit!! Sláinte!
Cheers all. Thank you very much. Oh yeah, it was a big piece to edit! Thank you for sharing the history with us. This was very fascinating to watch and listen too. Oddly enough, the first home I purchased years ago was on a road named Quincy but....that's in the states.
Ah ah, what a coincidence. Quite a few French place names in the US, especially around the center South, right, where the French were for a while. Isn't there a Paris in Texas? New Orleans, etc...
Thank you very much Richard :-) Very grateful. Welcome aboard. I'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the videos as we share the journey of exploring the world of wine... Cheers 👍🥂😀

Being a Kiwi I rarely drink anything other than New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. However the wines from the Sancerre region sound intriguing and I will have check them out. Great video, thank you.
I've been there 'bro'. I lived in NZ for 6 years. It was one of the greatest times ofm my life, including for wine, at least NZ wine (oh, and for rugby, back to back man 💪 even though the last one 😪) . But yes, even in New Zealand, many look at Sancerre as the purest and the reference style for Sauv Blanc. That's also why i enjoyed visiting here the birthplace of SB in France and sharing those stories even more. Glad you perceived it and enjoyed it ♥️🇳🇿🥂
great video :) did you do this trip on your own (planning, wine tours etc.) or you hired somebody/bought a "package"? :) If one goes there, who does not speak really french, is it still possible to visit any of the wineries?
Hi Nejc, Thank you :-) I was hosted by the Loire wines bureau, the organisation for the promotion of the wines there. You know, when you make wine content like this, they help you get around. But wine tourism in Sancerre is extremely well organised. First you have the Maison des Sancerre, the musuem as shown in the video, and they can help you get around. There's lots of wine shops in town from varied wineries, some nice restaurants. People are friendly and speak English generally. Most winery's cellar doors are always open Most wineries have some accommodations as well that are available so they'll treat you well especially if you stay at their place. I mean loads of possibilities. the two producers feature in the video offer some visits too, see www.henribourgeois.com/en/nous-rendre-visite/ and www.josephmellot.com/en/ . So yes, it's not one of those French wine regions where you're excited to visit but when you get there everything's locked up and it's hard to get around. Here's it's really well set up and pleasing :-)

Fantastic video, Julien. I will be visiting Sancerre in early May of 2025 to sample this wine. Is there a place in the village to taste different expressions? Will they serve Pouilly-Fumé as well? I do not want to drive after sampling so many wines. :) Merci!
Hi Robert, ty very much. Glad you enjoyed the video. Sancerre is so nice, should be fun! You have the Maison de Sancerre in the heart of the village with a museum explaining things, the terroir etc, and I think they have wine tasting as well, or at least get you all the info you need i hope. Have fun. Cheers 😊 🥂

Lose the distracting background music. You don’t need it because your video is fantastic on its own! As an American, I’m partial to new world Sauvignon blanc wines. However, every now and then, I buy a Sancerre or pule fume. Thank you for all of the effort you put into this production. Next time I’m in Paris, I may take that two hour drive
Well done again. :) I would enjoy watching more of these kinds of videos, where you visit different parts of France (maybe even Spain and Italy, if your time and money allows you to) to talk and lecture us about the different terroirs and grapes planted there - would be awesome!

I'll be making other regions on occasions too. But these take an incredible amount of time to assemble, as I do absolutely everything on my own, so I unfortunately cannot pump out those very often.
