Am I the only one who wishes that Jonathan had worn his Grim Reaper outfit for “Danse Macabre”?! What a great story! 🤣 Brilliant concert, as always. Thank you so much, Jonathan and Tom, for brightening another Saturday night.
Two hours to go now....Jonathan, it will be such a privilege to hear you take out the soul of this organ with your music for the second time in so many weeks... A great thanks to Tom for making all this possible! May God bless you! Stay safe everyone!
How wonderful !! This is bliss. I can hardly wait to hear Jonathan's arrangement of Handel's Andante larghetto e staccato. I am sure it will be as glorious as all the other music that has been subjected to his genius. Bless him for extending such generous lifelines to us and may the Heavens in return give to him: Health and Peace Profound.
I love the organ set up . It's perfect for the pipes and the acoustics. I used to look after a older organ , although I cannot play. Because of so many things the pipes were always in need of repair, and the acoustics were questionable .
Thank you John and your brother for an awsome afternoon during this very stressfull time everyone is going through, I am never dissappointed, thank you and God Bless..
Thank you both for an uplifting presentation in this seemingly dark time. How you lift our hearts with your beautiful playing and filming. Also, thank you for a glimpse of your autobiograhy, it is great to get to know you even better. Many, many thanks.
The Tom Scoot piece is a tour de force !! I love it !! It takes the listener on a scintillating journey of bright and sparkling pulse -- with an ever so slightly melancholic (or perhaps nostalgic) tone. I hope he has composed other equally dynamic and colorful music for organ.
I loved your duet with your brother in this concert space, playing Pietro Yon's Finale from the Concerto Gregoriano. Absolutely brilliant: both of you!
Thank you so much for this concert. It is such a pleasure having this wonderful music when live music has been so restricted. I ache for the time when music, dance, theater are able to come back to us and be enjoyed in live concerts. Your concert gave me some peace in this tense time in America. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Guys what a treat to hear such a wonderful organ and such a well voiced musical instrument. Fantastic playing (as usual) and everything so entertaining! Thanks
Thank-you for another pre-breakfast concert here in Melbourne, Australia. Wonderful way to start the day and celebrate the end of our lockdown. Your performances are uplifting and make our spirits soar. So talented, so creative, so generous. Thank-you Jonathan and Tom,
Scott you’ve got me hooked. I look forward to every Saturday night concert! Each one is better than the other! I truly enjoy your music. Hope this pandemic is over soon and you can go on a world tour! You’ve got a fan in Seattle! Wish you come to play at the famous (to us) Paramount Theater Organ. Outstanding!!! Bravo!!!
A beautiful Germanic instrument! I wish there were more tracker organs around like this. It's always so gratifying to play a nice 3 manual tracker. I'm from the United States and I find myself surrounded by electric consoles and warm sounding instruments. The brightness is certainly an acquired taste for me lol
It is somtimes difficult to follow you on a chronological basis on You Tube. It is only yesterday (Nov. 16 2022) that I found this very enjoyable concert which also allowed us to learn a bit more about Jonathan's student years. Hope you will see these few words of appreciation. Could we expect a Christmas concert this year?
thank you so much for the wonderful music, played on the queen of instruments, so great to bring the music into the living rooms in this uncertain time of COVID19. Thank You!
Thank you Jonathan and Tom for another spectacular concert. Completely agree, beautiful clean, crisp design and sound of the instrument, perfectly matched to the hall and academic scrutiny. No hiding of technique or fidelity to the scores on this organ. Your program was expertly chosen for the organ and venue. You always choose greater openers, and Cantata 29 was a brilliant, bright rendition of a familiar piece. Handel’s staccato Andante Larghetto was a wonderful crisp arrangement with playful precision. I could imagine a joyous pro/recessional celebration. I really appreciate the context that you share with every piece Jonathan, and thank you so much for introducing us to pieces not often appreciated. Albinoni’s Adagio was amazing and I know your arrangement added even more heartfelt colour to a captivating piece. I love how the chord progressions come back to rest on the root, and how the you’ve paired it with the floating tune on top, like a operatic coloratura aria. Once again you have shared a magnificent concert thoughtfully curated for the instrument, the hall, the collection, and even the season. Bravo maestro. Looking forward to our next musical adventure.
Another great concert. Thank you Jonathan. I really liked the sond of this organ. Although I have been to many orchestral and chamber concerts in the RNCM concert hall I have never heard the organ there. Let's hope there will be the opportunity to do so after the approaching new lockdown. In the meantime I hope you will be giving some more online concerts in the coming weeks.
The organ is a stunning piece of sculpture. It's great to see a designer let loose on this most traditional of instruments and make it as optically exciting as it sounds.
Always a pleasure, Jonathan, to watch your recitals. So many things to say here. I did my ARCO exam on that organ MANY years ago, and also sang Bass solo in the Verdi Requiem in the last public performance before the hall was refurbished. I LOVE Tom's piece. It's like the Roberstbridge Codex meets Hans Zimmer for Interstellar!
Most enjoyable. Love and appreciate you telling of your piano and organ days at the University. Am I correct to call Tom, Dr. Tom, for his PhD. Thank you for your hard work AND your talent--to both of the Scott brothers.
Great concert! I enjoyed your technique and arrangement of Sinfonia 29, and really liked your brother's piece: Hydrualus. I'm so glad to hear this instrument again - I think it's a wonderful organ. I remember Gillian Weir's recording from the RNCM (L'Ange a la Trompette?) and her performance of the Dupre Deuxieme Symphonie. Thank you!
Monsieur Wagner a de beaux moments, mais de mauvais quart d'heures (Giaocchiino Rossini) You're on a roll, Jonathan. Your recitatif is as entertaining as your arias. Gogogo, Tiger.
@Konstantin Ridaya You are right about this organ being of superb quality however you miss the point of the first comment which was a bit of tongue in cheek humour. The case does look like the typical Ikea white blocky furniture design.

This is clearly an organ that should be heard (recorded) more often. The clarity is probably helped by the acoustic of the hall which does have a little more 'body' to it than the St.Andrews University Chapel where exists another organ by the same builder (also recorded all too rarely). I wonder whether the clarity temps you to play just a trifle too fast in your first two items? I am left slightly out of breath. Otherwise admirable interpretation backed by superb technique. Thank you and brother Tom
Wow, great concert !! I've been watching you for a long time, and I have some suggestions that you could make for your next shows. I'm a big Bach fan, so the suggestions are as you can see ... J, S. The organ sounds great, but I hate keyboards that the colors are reversed. Why? Is it supposed to be gosh or stylish ? Thanks for the wonderful concerts, I call recitals.
Early instruments usually had the 'naturals' dark and the 'sharps' white - with just a slip of ivory along the top. I presume it was because the wood used for the dark colour was not as expensive as the ivory used for the light keys. Also, ivory wears away with use. I've played historic keyboards where the most-used notes were hollowed out by generations of fingers.
Life in the next lockdown would be much worse without all these wonderful concerts to enjoy. I can’t thank you enough!
