Ohh, regarding that stainless steel, adjustable razor, made in the US, it has to be a Rex Ambassodor! If you got it for $120, you got a steel (no pun intended)!! Correct me if I am wrong, but that is the only adjustable that's stainless steel made here! I purchased one a few years ago, it's aggressive just so you are aware, but it is efficient! Can't wait til you share the unboxing of that!! My next big purchase will be a Rex Consul which is a slant adjustable! They are over $300! It will be a bit before I acquire that one though.
@JimG7755 its the oliworks oilblade razor. It looks a lot like a Rex ambassador. I saw a thread on Badger& Blade about it. They have one version that's hybrid open comb on one side and smooth on the other. I don't know if it's a clone and all the details. I figured a US made adjustable stainless steel Gibbs clone for 120 bucks was worth a try
@CDinVT I never heard of that one. Regardless, you got a good deal! I have an original Gibbs #15 adjustable. The only issue is that it takes a proprietary blade. Hopefully your adjustable takes standard blades.
Hey Chris! Great budget shave! That Wilkinson Sword Classic makes a terrific travel razor too! It's plastic so you don't have to worry about it breaking. For the prices for all that gear you used in this shave, you can't go wrong! Thanks for the video! JimG
Nice shave Chris👍 IF (2 meals a day), cutting out snacks and lower carbs has done wonders for me over the last 6months I've lost about 22kg (48lb), I'm aiming for another 8kg by eoy. Good pickup on the SS adjustable, sounds like it might be an early Rex. I have 2 SS razors (non-adjustable) but tend to get ALU razors because I like the lightness compared to SS. Take care bro👍🤠👌
Difficult to unload or remove the blade; twisting handle to loosen and tighten very stiff. Not a good choice for traveling. Sure, end-tab covering is nice but also interferes with trying to remove the blade. I tried blade removal both from the top cap of the head, and from handle-bottom-plate part but blade stays trapped at top cap because of the screw-thread part. Trying to remove the blade by handling on the cutting edge section is a bad move. Blade's end tabs are not in reach. Cheap - about $7 on Amazon. Maybe a stick with a magnet on the end should be included?
I'm almost afraid to try a head shave even though you recommend it. Clogging ALWAYS happens when I do head shave with any double edge razor; I need to remove the blade and manually push off the clog. Rinsing and lather hydration are never enough. Blade is DIFFICULT to remove from this razor, including when wet during a shave.

@unclelshaves thanks, Lawrie. That is awesome! My next modern razor is going to be an aluminum one, probably the Henson.
Nice shave Chris. I have the Treet version of that razor too.
@bwmacho9461 Thanks, is the treat version exactly the same, just the logos different?
Yes that’s it

Why my other comment "Returned error".... I will try that one again.
That one I deleted and posted that comment a second time, and it seems to be there.
Name should be changed to "Dollar and A Quarter Tree".
@10floz30minutes yes, lmao🤣.
