    I’m a senior who stumbled across your videos while having a rough recovery from double knee replacements. You really succeeded in making me smile. It’s truly inspiring to see someone who successfully reinvented their life and really enjoys what their doing. Shaving has become a relaxing therapy for me. My dad taught me how to do it when I was in high school and I still use the Gillette adjustable that he bought me along with his old Super Speed. You found a new fan and customer. Stay safe and God bless through all this craziness.

    Those are great razors to introduce someone to DE shaving. I bought one and it was a bit too mild for me. I used it a couple of times and I actually tried to see if I could cut myself, but wasn't successful. I gave it to my 31 year old son that had never used a safety razor and got him hooked.

    This razor has been around for years and has a place in many many a shavers history. With good reason. It’s cheap and it works. Even though it’s plastic it’s not as lightweight as some, with the metal rod in the handle. Durable too. I’ve had mine for years. Another excellent video Geo, thank you

    Went and bought this razor today and oh man! Had a best shave of my life, and I don't even have thick hair; always used 3 blade catridge razor and mustache area was the worst since I felt like it was pulling my hair rather than shaving it. And trying this razor, it went butter smooth, not a slightest hint of irritation or pulling. Im never switching to catridge again. Thanks man ! :)

Lightweight. It’s plastic and metal but it’s damn good for the price I paid. Female razors are sooo expensive! This one came with 10 replacements. I’ve been using this razor for more than ten years with German blades from Walmart. Recently I decided to upgrade and went for the emblematic Merkur 34c which came with one Merkur blade which I used. Couldn’t wait for my beard to grow and give it a try. Well, being used to the Wilkinson and the blades I mentioned, I was totally disappointed by the poor performance of the Merkur. Now, my beard is exceptionally tough and I read that the Merkur blades a not that good, might be the blade, but still from everything that I’ve heard for the Merkur, I really expected big difference. Instead I was totally disappointed! I switched the Merkur blade to the Wilkinson and the Wilkinson did a better job with the closeness, but still far from the Walmart blades. Usually with two shaves I am done and now I had to go over and over again. I purchased a whole set of different blades and am planning to try them with the Merkur and the Wilkinson to see the difference. Maybe the Merkur aggressiveness is not suitable for the toughness of my beard, I don’t know, but the blades are garbage definitely !

      I rotated razor and blade in the same shave... Should do one at a time, but yep! Now three days later and three shaves later that same spot has been buffed off smooth as glass. I had a small ingrown on my chin, never really happens there but I guess it did this time. It is like the white hair teething process😆😆😆

    Hey Geofatboy, I have been watching your vids for years. They are so well done, good job man! You were actually the first channel I ever subscribed to. I was wondering if maybe you could please do a rundown of the differences between all the Gillette DE blades? There are so many variations on Shave Nation and I’m confused with the differences. Thanks so much!

    • @Rood67
      @Rood67 4 года назад

      Get Feather blades. I know, I know, so many people whine about how sharp Feather blades are; you're shaving, the blade should be sharp.
      I have the cheap Pawn Stars DE which was my first razor of this type. It is a mild daily shaver with Feather blades. But takes three passes (with, across, and against the grain) even with a Feather blade. I feel like I almost need to push on my face, so I use this to shave my scalp where both the skin and stubble are softer. The Feather blades last up to eight or more shaves because they start out sharp, and hold a good edge longer than others I've tried.
      My mother-in-law gave me a Pomco Co Slant from my father-in-law's (RIP) razors. This is an aggressive shave. With a Feather blade and a lite touch, this is a one pass per multiple day shaver. I get around six shaves with this setup per blade, but my whiskers are really course, and hard on the blade. But I generally only shave once or twice a week.
      To put the Feather usage in perspective, I bought a sleeve of 100 (20 x 5 packs) cousin in on two years ago, I have five packs left. Get the right blade and shaved less often. Your face will thank you for it. Other blades I've tried are two to three shaves each, and the last one is usually starting to get painful.
      Also, I don't remove the blade as some RUclipsrs do, but I do loosen the tension by half way unscrewing the handle and head. This also allows a better rinse and everything too dry quickly.

    Since I figured out how to hone my straight razors on a flat glass etc I use this one only as a back up when they are dull. It's a great razor, much better than another budget and mainstream one - Astra. I dont have much of hair but still with not enough hair-soak and a common laundry soap, sometimes cold water, Spartan, military style... Astra razors lasted maybe third of the time of Wilkinsons or less. I felt like a new Astra is on a level of week or two old Wilkinson and it sucked after a shave or two. Wilkinson has obviously a better technology

    I don't think mild razors like this one or the Feather Popular are necessarily good introductions, though I get the thinking. They actually turned me off wet shaving for years because I have thick facial hairs and it either left too much stubble or I had weepers all over trying to go against the grain. It was only when I tried an aggressive razor with a Kai blade on top of it that I actually enjoyed double edge razors.
