6 month update: Mufflers are still off! Car still sounds great and police never bothered me about it even when I got pulled over for other stuff. Being from Wisconsin it gets really cold here so the cold starts sound fantastic. Once in a while I'll get a crackle or pop which is nice too! Put 18k miles since this and it hasn't bothered me in terms of being annoying or anything like that. Oh and if you put it in Ds mode it kinda sounds nicer because it's mimicking a real automatic so when it drops the rpms it sounds like a normal car shifting even though it's not and if doesn't really make the car faster 😂
@@tylerarnold3971 the fact that someone thinks a shitty muffler delete of a 4 banger Altima sounds like a gtr which is a v6 and the fact that it is compared to a completely different engine at all lol, that doesn’t sound similar at all. Not to mention the only way it could somehow come anywhere to making sense would be talking about the exhaust sound at idle, which is just rumbling which doesn’t sound the same other than the fact it’s lower tone at idle. So yeah I just think it’s a pretty retarded non car thing to say it sounds like it, but again this is a video of a city car 4 banger altima with the muffler cut off so the viewers of this video do not surprise me.

By me it's technically illegal but I haven't gotten bothered about it. I got pulled over for speeding and they didn't say anything. It's quiet at idle and cruising speeds. I heard that taking the resonator off might make it sound raspy and way louder that's why I didn't do it. Take off the mufflers yourself since they're bolted on and see if you like the sound and if it's good enough. Winter is here in Wisconsin and the cold starts sound amazing!!

They have a bracket that attaches it to the pipe so loosen that brackeet and the unhook the muffler from the front bushing and it'll come out. That's where my mechanic welded the new pipes that he custom bent in. I don't know what size pipes he used but I'm thinking they were 2-2.5 inch, My exhaust tip is three inches wide and I wish I would have gotten 4-inch tips instead i think they would look a lot better!!!!
The pipes were just steel pipes that my mechanic bent and welded in for me. The tips were from some company he works with so I don't have any information on them

Thomas S the car had 155k kilometers on it during this video but now it has 152k miles. I changed the fluid every 30k miles. Haven't had an issue with it. Just be easy with it. Take off smooth and don't beat on it.
Kevin Lopez as long as the diameter of the tip is the same as the pipe so they weld on together. He provided them. Bend the pipes himself and had the tips
Domingo Candelaria just took the car on a 6k mile cross country trip in one week. That's just how the car is. Rpms climb fast. It was weird when I got to Colorado. 12k feet in the altitude car was at 5200 rpm on cruise control going 70 on a flat road.
MKE Car Connection do you have the original transmission or did you have to have it fixed already? I have a 2015 SV. Mine blew at under 50,000 miles. One thing I suggest EVERYONE with a Nissan CVT do is change the CVT fluid much sooner than the “recommended” intervals. My recommended interval is 60,000 miles, so I’d change the fluid at 30,000 to 45,000 to be safe. I think nissan intentionally lies about how many miles to change the transmission fluid, because they know their transmissions won’t last until that amount of miles.
MANSANDEM mine went out at 8k and then 40k now I'm at 160k with cvt fluid change every 30k since the second replacement. Aside from the occasional shutter it's been okay knock on wood. My buddy has a 2016 ans his just went out thr other day with 40k on it
So I did a muffler delete like I commented previously on my 14 altima 2.5 SV and it has a little bit of drone. Have you experienced this? And if so, have you done anything to remedy it?
@@graybenyo6735 that head rattling buzz at higher RPMs. Mine specifically did it at 2900-3100 RPMs. I fixed it by getting different muffler tips that protrude past the bumper about 1.5-2 inches so the sound is past the bumper.
The car was actually in kilometers. Right now I'm at 138k. I got it at 70 and replaced the fluid at 100k and will do it again when I reach 140k. I have not had any problems but it does jerk once and a while and alot in sport mode

All gas vehicles need back pressure or the engine exhaust value will get burned & then your vehicle will burn oil. If you don't plan on keeping your vehicle to long then burn rubber!

I went to a mechanic who said he’d charge 1.1k to replace my cat and my o2 sensors so naturally i said, “nah” lol. since then i’ve been looking at things to do for my exhaust and i think i’m going to do this but replace the cat with a high flow one and to the muffler delete at the same time! thanks for the nice vid man, one of the best ones i’ve seen for sure!

Straight pipe is normally when you remove the catalytic converter and resonator. muffler delete is only removing the mufflers. Straight pipe would make the car much much louder. Message me on instagram @sammie_mke if you have more questions!
Christian Cruz no you shouldn't ever get a check engine light when taking the mufflers off. I think if you take off the catalytic converter then you get a check engine light because you throw off a sensor or something like that but with mufflers you should always be good.

So cold weather start up when you're idling it's not loud but it is noticiable. Quiet down as car warms up. When driving even when I get up to 3k where it seems to be the most noticeable, you can still have a normal conversation over it. Not too loud. Idling with a warm engine or just cruising under 2k rpm and you don’t really notice any difference to the Car
Yes and no. My MPG did go down a little but that was because i kept messing around and getting on the gas but once i went back to driving normal my mpgs returned to what they were before. I drive about 3k miles a month and get 29 combined and 37-42 highway

The Boss it could affect resale value unless you sell it to someone who likes how it sounds 😂 but both ways keep the mufflers after you remove them. I have mine sitting iny garage so when I do get rid of the car I'll have a shop put them back on
The Boss no it won't affect the engine in the winter. Only difference you'll notice is it does get louder on start up during the winter months. Here is Wisconsin we have brutal winters and I've had no issues

Nope. Just the mufflers. I took them off where they hooked on and just welded maybe a foot and a half of pipe on each side.
My car sounds like it still has one muffler on so I’m not sure what I need to do to make it sound like yours. I like the way yours sounds

Your RPMs get pretty high pretty fast even when not going so fast. Something isn’t right. Did your car always do that?

Sport mode makes no difference in sound. It's just like brining the rpms up to 3k.

I’ve actually been driving this car a little harder in the city because of the sound especially since it’s cold af here in Wisconsin and it sounds so good but my mpg dropped. Kinda wish I got the g37xs that was sitting next to the Altima at the lot but oh well

How much did it cost?
Shop charged me 100 to take the mufflers off and just put pipes. The black tips he ordered came to 50$ to total 150!
